Advantages Advantages For a quick, tasty, nutritous breakfast

Disadvantages Disadvantages You have to put up with the Tiger

Now to my second promised cereal op. Kellogg’s Frosties – bought on special offer with a box of Rice Krispies. The Frosties would normally cost around £1.65. Kellogg’s Frosties come in 500g blue boxes with a picture of Tony the Tiger on the front. Come on you all remember him don’t you? ‘They’re Grrrreat!’ OK so how many folks would like to see Tony put down? He is rather irritating although I haven’t seen him around on TV recently – perhaps he has the flu! Back to more serious matters. Inside the blue box is a plastic ‘keep fresh’ bag that can be scrunched down once opened to keep the ... more

Advantages Advantages Good for your Health, pre-sugared

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Kids Cereal?

Kellog's Frosties takes me back in time to my childhood, in the summer I would get Kellog's Frosties before going to school and in the Winter I would get given Ready Brek....Yuck... So you could say I loved the Summer months, although in Scotland you can get all the seasons in an hour...as all visitors will no doubt testify... My memory reminds me of the silly advert featuring the Tiger character called Tony, Tony always said "They're Greeaat", spelling mistakes intended..Tony still features on the nice Blue Packet. The Frosties packet also contains loads of details on them, some of which will ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sugar and toffee is unhelathy although the rest is healthy

Kellogg’s are by far the most popular company when it comes to breakfast cereals, with their flagship cereal ‘Corn Flakes’ being not only the most popular but perhaps the most basic. Now, many people eat Kellogg’s Corn Flakes (or any other brands of Corn Flakes) with sugar to add that extra bit of flavour that will satisfy people with a sweet tooth whilst they can still say that they are being healthy. Well, as you will surely know, a perhaps less healthy but very similar alternative to Corn Flakes with sugar on is Kellogg’s Frosties, they are frosted with sugar ... more

Advantages Advantages taste nice, very sweet

Disadvantages Disadvantages go soggy if in milk too long

I am not really one for making a big deal of breakfast as sometimes when I wake up it can be 1 in the afternoon so then I usually just want to eat lunch. However, when I do have cereal I like to have something that makes me want to eat it in the morning. My last review was of Raisin Wheat's which I do love but the box ran out very quickly, so I soon had to look for a substitute as they had gone back up to their usual price and weren't worth it. Another childhood favourite of mine has always been Frosties, I don't know many people who hate them and they seem to have been around forever. The ... more

    Advantages Advantages Tasty , Cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hard to get into for kids!

Frosties is a breakfast cereal made by the famous cereal brand , Kellogg's. Frosties are similar to Corn Flakes ; the only difference being that Frosties are covered in sugar and Corn Flakes aren't. Although I have always liked Frosties , I never really buy them that often , unless they are in a multi-pack. So when I bought a kelloggs multi-pack the other day , I decided to have the Frosties as it had been a while since I had last tasted them. The Frosties I am reviewing , are from a multi-pack box , although nevertheless they still look and taste the same , despite coming from a smaller box ... more

Advantages Advantages Crunchy, Sugar coated, great taste

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not for vegetarians as it contains gelatin

They say that children learn from their parents but one thing that I have certainly learnt from my children is the absolutely great taste of Kellogg's Frosties. My usual cereals have been Kellogg's Corn Flakes and Weetabix. However in the last month I have been indulging myself with Frosties almost every morning. The children have been having Frosties for ages and it was inevitable that one day I would be forced into trying it out. However what I was not aware of was the fact that I might actually like it. I suppose the only difference one might notice is the milk that we use. Where the kids ... more

Advantages Advantages sugar coated, nutritional, low fat

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Me and my children like to kick-start the day by eating a bowel of kellog’s frosties every morning before we get going in the morning it really is a great start to the day. As frosties are sugar coated there is no need to add sugar, this is great for the children as like myself I find it difficult to consume cereal without the added taste of some sugar. Frosties are also much crunchier than cornflakes which is good because they don’t go soggy when submerged in milk. Frosties are available in different packet sizes 500gms which is the one I usually buy this costs me around £1.55 then there is a ... more

    Advantages Advantages They taste OK

Disadvantages Disadvantages doensn't taste like real sugar

I suppose it was inevitable that Kellogg would eventually come to the conclusion that the addition of some sugar frosting to their highly successful Cornflake would be a best seller, and thank goodness they did. I have always liked Cornflakes and am particularly fond of them with freezing milk and sugar, so I like Kellogg was keen to discover if this sugar frosting was up to scratch. It did however take me slightly longer to get in o the act. ASDA are currently doing a rather spiffing offer what, 500g of Frosties for a meagre £1.00, so I thought I'd take them up on it. I had like most of us ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great flavour

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sugar coated so can be unhealthier than some cereals.

Introduction - I have previously enjoyed eating many different cereals, before I started eating Frosties I ate Rice Krispies, I thought I was being more healthy but soon realized I didn't really like the flavour of Rice Krispies on their own so had to add a few spoonfuls of sugar to get them to taste moderately nice. Frosties however already have the sugar in them; therefore they are often called Frosted Flakes. I now have a bowl of Frosties every morning, I have decided I would rather enjoy my breakfast than worry about putting on a few extra pounds. Packaging - The Frosties packaging is very ... more

Advantages Advantages A hearty and filling cereal. Eye-catching packaging.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit too sugary for children.

As far as breakfast in my household goes, it's not exactly a priority. Very rarely do I seek to purchase a breakfast cereal when doing my weekly shop. But last week I did. Fancying a change I decided to go for a cereal that perhaps isn't targeted to my sort of market (students), and seeing that it was produced by Kellogg's (the behemoth of the breakfast cereal industry) aided my decision. Frosties on the outside looks appealing, with its synonymous tiger named Tony, and its bright blue background. These features stand out from the crowd, and instantly grab the eye, luring you to investigate ... more
