I'm sure I drink too much coffee. I can't see it doing me any good at all drinking too much coffee. But, I do love my coffee, and am always trying different brands the stuff! Although I never buy the powered kind - just the granules. I don't know what it is about the powered coffee. It just doesn't taste the same as the granules. Anyway, I was shopping in Sainbury's the other day, and I saw 'Kenco Rappor' on sale - the decaffinated kind. I paid £1.98 for a 100g jar. The coffee comes in a standard coffee jar about 5.5 inches high, and square in diametre. It has a dark greed lid, and dark green ... more

Advantages Advantages Smooth coffee, good for everyday.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not very exciting.

Although I am a great tea drinker I sometimes like to ring the changes particularly in the Winter time when I am not quite so thirsty and need warmed up more than re hydrated. To this end I have been investigating a few different types of coffee to make a change from the standard Morrisons brand which I automatically buy for my husband. First I tried the boss's favourite blend of Nescafe Cap Colombie , (check out the review) but although I enjoyed the taste I was not impressed by the cost. Back to the hunt. Last week I spotted a 200g jar of Rappor on the shelves at my local Morrisons in ... more

I have to admit to being a coffee addict. I drink cups of the stuff everyday. It takes at least three cups to fully wake me up in the morning (any less and I'm like a zombie). Over the years, I've tried loads of different brands of coffee. Filter coffee was always my personal favourite because of the smell whilst it was brewing and the strong coffee flavour. I've always been on the lookout though for an instant or ground coffee alternative mainly because you have to wait for filter coffee and also, most importantly, you have to clean the coffee machine afterwards (yuk). Sometimes I just can't ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all!

I like nothing more than a nice a cup of coffee, tea is usually my preference though getting through several cups a day but with a cup of coffee thrown in for good measure occasionally . I bought this one on offer at £1.50 for a 100g jar instead of closer to the £3.00 mark in Asda. The Packaging: This comes in a see-through glass oblongish jar with a large red plastic twist on/off lid to the front of it and then the label around the jar is a metallic red with a picture of coffee beans and a coffee on there on two sides of the jar and we are told that it is Rappor 'New smooth Everyday taste' ... more

    Advantages Advantages really good taste

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I can think of

With coffee getting more and more expensive, I decided to look at a few other brands. I’ve always liked Kenco coffee but thought just this once I would try something a little cheaper. I didn’t fancy any of that really cheap coffee. Some coffee just taste and smell’s like dishwater. I just don’t see the point of those. While looking on the shelf at Safeway, I noticed a large jar with a mainly dark red label. It had a swirl of bright red and blue down the centre of it and the word ‘Rappor’ right across it, under this it said “ bursting with real coffee taste” and above it to my pleasure the word ... more

    Advantages Advantages Excellent taste, aroma

I like my cup of instant Coffee which coincidentally happens to also be called Kenco Rappor. It has a good flavour and is excellent value for money. The problem only seems to arise when there is some sort of special sweet on offer, in this instance I feel instant coffee is not quite good enough for the occassion. The answer lies in the name Kenco Rappor ground coffee. It superior taste and aroma are a most excellent compliment to my special dessert. If you are not familiar with the rating system used in ground coffee let me refresh your memory. The ratings go from 1 to 5 with one being the ... more

Hi there Ciaoers I trust you have all had a good Christmas. I thought I would write to you about kenco rappor because after all the Alcohol I have drunk this week a nice cup of this coffee will surely wake up the senses again. Kenco rappor by far is the cheapest fine coffee in the shops today Ranging from £1.50 to £2.50 in price for a 100g jar depending on where you buy yours. This coffee outrivals all the other coffees around the same price in my opinion, which quite frankly taste wishy washy and cheap and not as refreshing as this delightful brew. This full flavoured coffee comes in a roast ... more

Advantages Advantages Different and enjoyable to drink

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I have recently been swayed to this brand as it was on offer at my local Tesco, if it's a product I think I'll like then I'll swap from my usual brand to help save a few pennines. As I drink my coffee black I don't like my coffee to be too strong or bitter as without milk I find it very unbearable to drink. So this coffee for me is a real break from the norm. As soon as you open the jar you are hit by a really rich, strong smell of coffee, which is a wonderful, and welcome, smell first thing in the morning. It's not what I'd describe as distinctive aroma, just strong and dark. I checked their ... more

Advantages Advantages No caffeine (is that a good thing...)

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Rappor is full flavoured, smooth and rich even though it's decaff. It has a very distinctive flavour. The granules dissolve well so theres no bits of coffee on the top of your coffee. It's well priced at just under £2.00 for a 100g jar and it lasts ages. My last jar lasted about 2 months (however, i don't drink that much coffee). It smells fantastic and rivals any full caffeine coffee i've tasted. You can immediately taste the difference between rappor and another brand. Unlike other coffees, it leaves no bitter aftertaste. It's not a very strong coffee, so i wouldn't recommend it to people ... more

I am a real coffee lover and I only drink the best. Although I do drink other coffee brands, I have recently been buying Kenco's coffee. The first thing I do in the morning when I get up is put the kettle on and make a nice mug of coffee and sit down to some breakfast. When I drink the coffee, I find that it really gets me going and ready to take the on the world. I don’t just drink coffee for the caffeine boost; I also drink coffee for the taste (more for the taste than the caffeine boost really). Kenco Rappore has a great taste, depending on how you like it; it may be strong (the way I ... more
