Advantages Advantages processes small quantities of food, easy to clean, powerful motor

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

There are times when the recipe I'm making requires small quantities of ingredients to be chopped or blended. As a child my mum used to ask me to chop some almonds and I remember how fiddly these were to cut as they have no flat base and there were several occasions when the knife would slip, but luckily no fingers were chopped off! Fast forward a few years and we've now invested in a Kenwood mini chopper. This is such a handy little device and one that we continuously use. It was used regularly on Delia Smith's cookery show and is marketed as a 'Delia cheat gadget'. Last weekend for example I ... more

I got this little chopper in Debenhams during one of their sales. With the discount I paid £12. The chopper is currently priced at £14.09 in Argos. The chopper was labelled as a Delia Cheat and looked just like a more expensive one I had been looking at. Bargain, bought and brought home! Thankfully this chopper is small so storage isn't an issue. It fits under the sink next to the baking tins. As we have a small terraced house so storage is always an important thing to think about. The main reason I purchased the mini chopper was to easily mash and chop up foods for the baby. It's really ... more

This is a mini chopper which is really useful if you just want to make a small quantity of something like pesto or houmous, or just chop an onion. It is inexpensive (I paid £19.99 for mine) and doesn't take up too much space in the kitchen. Its maximum capacity is 350ml or 150g. It has two speeds, though I must admit I don't use the lower speed much. It's not that powerful - it has a 300w motor, but it chops things like carrots really evenly, without a slush at the bottom. It has a nice design with a cute curvy bit where the motor is and the bowl bit is one of those rounded ones. It is a bit ... more

Here is a present which I thought was boring when I first received it a while back!! But it's so useful it never leaves my worktop now. - The bowl can contain 350ml/150g, therefore offering the possibility to chop/mix small- to medium-sized quantitites. - It's fairly easy to use, with a one touch control, even if fitting and removing the bowl can be a bit fiddly. - It's very safe to operate: there is no access to the blade during operation and the appliance is equipped with non-slip rubber feet. - The two-speed feature comes handy depending on what you're chopping/mixing. - It's very easy to ... more

Advantages Advantages small, compact, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages can turn food watery, good for few people only

Having struggled with chopping small veg for years I decided to splash out and buy the Kenwood CH180A. You wouldn't believe the excitement that I've had since! There are a number of problems when it comes to chopping, my biggest hatred being garlic which you can never get to the small pieces that you want. Also, you end up with garlic smelling hands for about the next 24 hours. The Kenwood CH180A solves all of your problems. The mini chopper is ideal is you're cooking for two of three people on a regular basis and don't have the space or money for a large food processor. At a price of £15 to ... more

We have had our Kenwood CH 180 Chopper now for a couple of years and we would not be without it to be honest. It sits on our kitchen worksurface but sometimes my other half pushes it it to the back of our cupboard and then we forget we have it for a few months till we suddenly remember it again and get it out, so we use it in fits and starts. It is a nice curved design in white and looks quite modern and stylish we think. It has a nice long cord which is handy and makes using easier. It is classed as a mini chopper and designed for chopping only small things such as a few carrots or a couple ... more
