...price, you can get a Kia Cee'd for £10,995 with a 1.4 litre engine. However, we were both wrong about its country of origin. Although Kia is a South Korean manufacturer, the car is made in Slovakia alongside its sister model the Hyundai i30.
===Why the name?===First thing to understand about this car is its name: according to Kia it stands for something like "Community of Europe European Design" (what a mouthful!) and is pronounced like "seed". ... ...better car it shows what Kia were aiming for: a car to rival the best European compacts such as the VW Golf and the Ford Focus. Have they "suc-cee'd-ed"? Well, in some respects their car is as good or better than the competition (engine, standard equipment and warranty) but as a package its not quite there. And really it only took a few minutes driving the car for me to find out. So why didn't Kia?

...press launch for the new Kia cee'd. I entered a competition and won the chance to test drive the car in the South of France for a weekend! Advantages: Lots of room, good equipment level, looks good. Disadvantages: Kia badge tends to get dismissed by a lot of people, can be a little slow.
I was given a Kia Ceed as a hire card, which I had to try out for several days. I had the 1.6 LS edition.
When I heard that I would be getting a Kia, I was quite disappointed. I didn't, and still don't, consider Kia as a top marque car manufacturer.
However, I found the look of the car quite appealing, and to be honest it looked quite sporty in red!
Inside, the cabin has plenty of room. Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on the boot space, ... ...the driving seat. The Kia Ceed was an exception.
Another "stereotype" I had in my head regarding Kia car's, was that I was expecting a very low level of equipment. That wasn't the case. As stated above, I had the LS version of the car. The equipment I found myself with included rear parking sensors, climate control, and ESP. This was of course in addition to multiple airbags, power steering, CD player, and electric windows.

i own this KIA C'eed it is the station wagon version or estate as most of us know it. it is diesel gs model. I have owned BMW 3 series, AUDI 80, Numerous VW Golfs, Astra Estate and a Ford Focus estate.
This wins hands down. i have average 49mpg in a 1.6 diesel estate! it is quiet, huge and reliable. It has almost every feature you could want. cd palyer mp3 and ipod connection. Lumbar adjustment on both front seats. roof bars large boot space including ... ...Volvo V70 estate when the seats are down. amazing! a coupe of annoying things, the dash light does not dim on this model, WHY? also if it had cruise control that would be great. the LS version does have this and finally the steering is very light, but i have adapted to that now. superb value for money vehicle ...

Advantages: 7 year warranty , excellent 1.6 113 hp diesel, drives very well , well equipped Disadvantages: no bluethooth on radio, otherwise none
I bought the Ceed Diesel 1.6 with 113 hp engine, it s a realy pleasure to drive with lots of availabe power and great handling on corners.
The trade press early reviews state that car has 5 year full warranty + 2 years extra for the Drive train , however since March the Warranty has been improved to 7 years full warranty bumber to bumper , warranty is also transferable.
I considered the Ford focus 1.6 110 hp and Aurir 2 litre diesel as alternatives. ... ...and lot more expensive , it has a stupid centre consol that I could not live with , it has only a 3 year warranty.
The Focus is an excellent car to drive but is less equipped for the price and only has 3 year warranty.
I would happily recommend to Ceed Diesel 1.6 113 hp diesel ...
