    Advantages Advantages Light, cheap, novel

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too light, slightly ridiculous

Remember those butt-clenchingly cringeworthy adverts for Kinder Eggs? You know, the ones with the weird little kid who looked like he'd stepped straight off the set of 'Village of the Damned'? His dubbed voice says to his plastic-looking mommy as she leaves for the shops, "Bring me back a sweet...and a toy...and a surprise etc." Creepy. Anyway, sometimes when Mrs P goes off to the shops, I say to her in my best spooky, squeaky voice, "Bring me back...blah, blah, blah." Satire knows no bounds at chez proxam. Or at least I used to say that. I won't make that mistake again. For why? - I'll tell ... more

    Advantages Advantages fun, tasty snack

Disadvantages Disadvantages small, messy to eat, expensive

You can’t say we haven’t all been there. You know what I’m talking about. There you are standing in a museum sharing essential knowledge with little brats when in walks a giant blue hippo offering everyone biscuits. All right so maybe we haven’t all been there unless of course you took some extremely dodgy drugs in the 70s. I was not born in the 70s so the advert for the Kinder Happy Hippo scared me and to be quite honest put me off despite the fact that I love other Kinder products. However student life does funny things to you. For the first time in my life I actually get mail and some of ... more

Advantages Advantages Errr..they look cute ???

Disadvantages Disadvantages Calorific and expensive !

Hippopotami are, by definition,' large, mud wallowing, herbivorous mammals' ...so when my son announced he wanted Happy Hippos in his lunch box, it merely confirmed what I had suspected ever since his birth....that he was totally barking ! However, having decided that his mother was, indeed, completely ignorant, my son proceeded to explain that they were actually very tasty biscuits ...Of course they were, how could I possibly be so stupid...I mean..It's perfectly natural and fitting to make biscuits in the shape of Hippos...Duh ! So, ever the loving Mum, off I popped to my local Sainsbury's ... more

Advantages Advantages cute little animal shape, tasty, crunchy and creamy

Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit messy with those white tidbits keeps on falling off, high in fat(117 cal)

Everytime I visit the supermarket, I'm always on the look out for a snack that can add variety to my son's lunchbox. Something that he would enjoy while having his packed lunch in school. I found this kinder happy hippo in a colourful cardboard pack described as " Now Crispier Than Ever" and you can see the 5 individually wrap shaped like hippo. They are very appealing especially with the children. At first I'm quite hesitant because it appears to be one of those unhealthy sweet snacks, so i read the pack and found out that it has no artificial colours, no preservatives and no hydrogenated ... more

this is another excellent product from kinder to go along with its other excellent quality products such as kinder bueno, kinder suprise and many other excellent products the kinder hippo costs around twenty pence because it is quite small event though it is a superb quality the hippo is shaped like a hippo it suits kids more than adults because of the theme of the snack it tastes brilliant because it is light and crispy it is filled with cream just like the kinder bueno the outer shell of the bar is covered in a textured edible decoration to make the snack look more appealing and authentic ... more

    Advantages Advantages fantastic biscuit

Disadvantages Disadvantages only for kids... or so they say

It was my daughter who convinced me to buy the pack. Her friends had had them in their lunchboxes, and she didn't want to be the odd one out. Then when she was at school, I dived in to the pack with a cup of tea. The funny hippo shape is sweet, and very much like kinder bueno in taste and texture with the crumbly wafer like coating, and the hazelnut and milk creamy centre. Had 2, and could have eaten the whole pack. The only trouble is I have to pretend that they're for my daughter when I but them, as too embarrased to say they're for me. My daughter gives me a funny look whenever we get to ... more
