Advantages: Incredible smooth, clean, refreshing shave! Disadvantages: Nothing much
...she came back with this King Of Shaves Alphagel. My first thoughts were ‘what the hell is this crap’! I’m not into all this health and beauty stuff and as such was scared of change and new things. However I needed to have a shave so thought I would give it a try.
From my previous experience with products aimed at sensitive skin, I withheld judgement on whether it would benefit me whatsoever. WHAT IS IT?
Alphagel is a shave gel ... ...sensitive skin should try the King Of Shaves Alphagel out. Even if you don’t have sensitive skin I would recommend trying the gel. It has transformed the shaving experience for me from daily pain, to a refreshing sensation. It has opened my eyes for sure. In the future I am not going to be as ignorant to new products as I may have been on this occasion. ...

Elvis, of course, is the king of rock ‘n’ roll. This, apparently, is the King of Shaves. Here is an opinion on King of Shaves shaving gel that may, or may not, contain a number of Elvis-related puns. A BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Ok, what we have here is King of Shaves K-Series Alphagel DDS Shaving Gel. This thing’s got more branding than it knows what to do with, but to put it succinctly, it’s a gel and you use it for ... ...the tube bares the logo King of Shaves (KoS) logo; the other half is transparent enabling you to see the pale blue gel within. It has a flip top lid so you can squeeze out the stuff and close it again in one easy and convenient motion. With its cool blue and white colourscheme, the package looks clean and hygienic as a bathroom product should. For me, the packaging scores over the conventional cylinder used by most gels and foams because it is smaller, ...

...space aged of shave lubricants, King of Shaves (KoS) Kinexium Mentholated Advanced shave gel. I've even tried Somerset's shave oil. For those how aren't familiar with this, Somerset Oil comes in a weenie little bottle with strict instructions to use no more than two drops in warm water and apply to the face, (being of that prodominatly male school of thought that says more is more, i.e. BBQ's (more kerosene), broken washing machine (bigger motor), ... ...purchased (like a good consumer) king of Shave's Kinexium Mentholated Advanced shave gel. Another feature, and one that I think is dubious is that this is a non-foaming gel. Personally I think the ...

Now King of Shaves (what a terrible name for a company, only one step away from Toys’r’us (shudder)) have been making shaving products since 1993. The whole thing started from a bedroom with Will King, (hence the terrible company name) and his wife filling their first 10,000 bottles of oil by hand and convincing Harrods and Boots to take it. Advantages: Stuff we dont understand is in it, Low foaming formula Disadvantages: Smell
Ok, so here’s my King of Shaves trio. My 3rd opinion on their rather good shaving products. This one’s the Gel which is just as good as the oil, so you’ll be spoilt for choice ladies and gentlemen!
Firstly, what’s the difference between the oil and the gel? Well firstly, we have probably all use Gillette gel and other gel shaving products, you know the ones, the type that foam up on your face and make you look like a scary ... ...different, it has a low foaming formulation (well infact, it doesn’t seem to foam at all unless you really go for it and rub it in vigorously). This is for a reason though before you all start thinking ‘oh it’s crap then’. If you think about it, if a gel doesn’t foam, you’ll be able to see where your shaving, so instead of shaving your ear (I’m trying to be humorous here, anyone who shaves their ears by mistake ...

...sample sent to me by King of Shaves via the website. The sample was for the unmentholated Alphagel, which I found minty enough and very easy and nice to use.I made the bold step of buying the mentholated one yesterday, and after applying the oil I decided to apply some of this. The gel comes in a tube priced at about £3.50 for 175ml which isn't bad considering how little is used. The gel is a greeny colour with little beads visible in it.These beads supposedly release moisturising agents as you shave. The smell is quite something and is probably due to the large amount of tea tree, mint and eucalyptus oil present.

Advantages: Everything about it Disadvantages: Nothing at all..really!
Ok so its not very often I find a product that not only does what isays it will but actually exceeds my expectations, this is such a product.
Lets get the facts out of the way first first before I give my own opinion of this. It comes in a clear plastic tube with the logo and brand name on it, available in Sensitive and Mentholated (this is very minty so avoid ladies if you are doing your bikini area). I use the sensitive version.
It contains among ... ...triclosan and vitamin E. These ingredients are meant to soothe, moisturise and prevent a shaving rash (those horrid white spots). Well guess what? They DO!
You can purchase this from most supermarkets, superdrug, boots and also online from their website Shave.com, they also quite often offer free samples for registering for their newsletter. It costs around £2.50 to £3.50.
Now the product itself is a greenish coloured gel which is quite thick but ...

...well not so bad. King of Shaves produce a wide range of products associated with the male shave and as the lubrication (No titters, this is serious) element of the shave goes this is the best product I have come across, both within the King of Shave range and globally amongst all the other manufacturers. As there are so many different King of Shaves gels I better tell you exactly what this one is, so this is the King of Shaves Sensitive Skin formula, ... ...what is it? Well this is a light green coloured shaving gel and thus after you have washed your face in preparation for the daily face torture, you apply (in fact you massage it into the skin) just a little of this lubricating gel. Then you shave and boy is it easier, as regular readers know, I use a Mach 3 blade and the combination of these two products mean that shaving is bearable.
You want detail, OK.
This gel is designed for sensitive skins, ...

...the soap I stole the King Of Shaves, intrigued and enticed: ‘Redefines the way you’ll shave. It significantly reduces razor burn and skin irritation and with extra menthol leaves the skin feeling super cool and refreshed’ and I didn’t see why it couldn’t work on legs as well as faces.

Okay, let's face it (ha! ha! No, wasn't THAT funny), I'm a bit of a scrounger who likes a free lunch. Although it's based on a sample, I think it's safe to say that it'll be identical to the full bottled product - which incidentally comes in a plastic squeezy bottle, and not a very big one at that (175ml).
Considering the quantity of gel you get for your £3.99, you'd expect to get something pretty damned special for that price! So just how does it compare with the usual supermarket ...

...for my free sample of King of Shaves gel for Women, I finally tried it one day this week.
i applied for the sample from 2001freebie site, most of the stuff arrives quite quickly.
In my envelope I got a shaving gel for women, and a shaving oil.
The gel is in a sachet, which i thought was difficult to open.
It had a tab which said twist to open, after doing a Chubby Checker dance round the bathroom I then realised they meant TWIST the tab open. ... ...the sachet with a pair of scissors, I applied the gel to my armypits.
At first I thought it was rubbish as the gel is very thin in consistency.
Apparently this is to help you see where you are shaving. Normal foam or gel lathers up and you can't see where the hairy bits are.
There were little bubbles in the gel which are released on contact to the skin, these deliver essential oils to your skin helping it to moisturise and protect your skin.
