I'm unkind to my shoes - I try to clean them regularly, but, in all honesty I generally only do it when I have to go out somewhere smart. Since I work from home, most of the time I wear slippers, socks or sandals but - now and then - I do have to get my shoes on. I will admit that I am pretty useless at cleaning my shoes on a regular basis, I put this down to being forced as a child to polish mine and my parents shoes as one of my chores!
