Advantages: Durable, long lasting, small, high quality pictures Disadvantages: No case supplied, high battery usage
...enough to have received a Kodak DC215 with my PC in September 1999. When I say fortunate I am of course being a little modest! I can not imagine how my life would be now without my camera!
It all started in the summer of 1999. I had a laptop (a little slow and clumsy, but it worked). I was very happy with it until the age of digital cameras dawned upon us like a tidal wave over a city! I had thought about buying one, and at the time the 215 was ... ...and over the two years the catch became loosened, so I sent it back to Kodak since it was still under guarantee, and they repaired it within a fortnight.
All in all though, this is a great starter camera and is easy enough to use by the whole family! ...

Advantages: good value, excellent quality, easy to operate Disadvantages: fragile components
I never thought of writing something on this camera but I should have done it a long time ago. It really deserves we stop a moment to consider its beneficial support and part in the world of technology…maybe not with my words mind you. I am not very good at using technical terms when it comes to cameras (or any other specific products) so I kept this review simple and hopefully useful and informative. How did we end up buying the DC215? Well it was ... ...years ago. Lucky us? Yes quite a bit for the camera but the PC is another story. In fact we were not supposed to get this very unique camera but an Agfa that has also the function of a webcam. To us it looks far too cheap when you compare it to the PC specifications. As my partner and I were aware of the money invested in the computer we openly shared our views with the sales assistant and requested a better quality camera and a separate webcam. ...

Advantages: easy to use, good picture quality, limited only to size of flash card you can afford Disadvantages: batteries dont last long, not as many features as top of the range
The kodak dc215 is an excellent digital camera, for anyone on a budget.
At a mere £200 (ish) it is not the cheapest, but value for money it is an excellent buy.
What I like is the way it looks and feels like a normal 35mm camera, it is slightly heavier but that is not a problem.
It doesn't boast the features of some of the more expensive models, but for the average person this is ideal.
It was recommended to me by a photographer friend, so it ... ...would recommend at least looking at this camera if you are considering buying a digital camera, try it out in the shop (i did), compare it with other makes and models, and believe me you will choose the kodak.
To me kodak are cameras, a name you know and trust! ...

...with this amazing bargain that KODAK boasts to the digital camera market. It's interesting to compare the DC215 up against other, more expensive, and apparently more 'advanced' cameras. Sure, picture quality isn't great, but people who just want to take the odd digital holiday snap aren't going to need anything more. Advantages: Immediate viewing, excellent zoom, light adjustment function, flash on/off, good quality. Disadvantages: Not enough memory on card that comes with camera
...could trust. The Kodak DC 215 was an excellent choice. Not only are there easy to follow on screen instructions but you can view and change the setting to your hearts content and then view the picture while the 'moment' is still there. It's quite a heavy camera for it's small size which could be a strain on the neck (in a carry case). With immediate upload to my photo editor, my pictures are edited and up online within minutes. This product is ideal ... ...the only drawback was the small amount of memory you get with the camera, storing approximately 10 good quality pictures. I purchased an additional memory card which holds approx. 55 good quality pictures at a cost of £49.99. Battery life is very poor so I have invested in rechargables. As you can see, the money is now mounting up. Of course you don't have to have the extra memory card but what if you are away on holiday for instance? Are 10 pictures ...

Advantages: Easy to use. Not expensive Disadvantages: none
...I noticed about this little Kodak camera is how much like an ordinary 35mm camera it is.
Just like your old point and click cameras in size, it is really simple to use, with the same point and click button on top that you would be used to with an ordinary camera.
About the only way you can really tell it apart is by the lens, which instead of being in the middle, is shifted way over to the right hand side. This can be a bit awkward as it’s ... ...but now I have the Kodak I can actually take up to 400 shots, which I find most useful.
As well as this, I can now simply load the pictures onto my PC at home, and if I want something for framing then I only have to buy a packet of photo quality paper and print it off.
One slight drawback I’ve found so far is that I have a fairly old PC, that doesn’t have a USB port, so I have to upload my pictures through the serial port at the back, ...

...Dixons and they recommended the Kodak DC215. I wasn't disappointed, it cost a fraction of the price of other cameras with the same supreme facilities. It features a high resolution screen, excellent shutter speed ranges, and a light weight, durable outer shell. The only down point is the batteries run down rather fast. It's quick to charge them up again though. In conclusion, this is an excellent allround digital camera. It has a price tag that isn't ...
Advantages: Easy to use, great quality shots for web use, price. Disadvantages: Low storage capacity, heavy battery use
I had reservations about a digital camera purchase. Price versus quality - where is the balance ? Luckily I found a site with vouchers from Buy.com to get £30 off so that helped! (www.eurodead.net/cdr/index.htm)
I needed a camera which could take pictures good enough for using on a website, and for producing digital photo galleries online. I wasn't really bothered about being able to print them out, although I am pleased to say that at the highest ... ...full photo-realistic colour etc.
One of the main limitations to this camera is the memory card, it's only 4Mb, so this allows 56 shots at the worst resolution (and this isn't worth bothering with as it compresses them to hell). Super-duper high resolution only allows 12 shots to be saved, which could be limiting for some people. I have found that the medium setting which allows 24 shots is the best combination - excellent quality (for web use) and ...

I design and produce screensavers and wanted a fast easy to use camera. The quality is astounding and when using the zoom function the level of detail is superb picking out wording on sweet wrappers and the like.
It is very use to use with a graphical menu and lots of functions like date printing on the image, image size, quality, automatic exposure, image type and more. It also includes red eye reduction and auto flash.

This digital camera came along with my computer package, probably the reason i was persuaded to purchase my PC. It is just a great camera you can edit, frame, delete, magnify your photos at the touch of a button using the small screen at the back of the camera. The only disadvantage is, that it uses batteries up very quickly. You take the pictures with the camera, take out the picture memory card and just slot it into the printer. You don't even need to plug it into a computer !! We got our Kodak DC215 digital camera free with our Personal Computer and obviously was not chosen for our needs specifically. Normally, when you are purchasing something of this nature, we would try and inspect all the various digital cameras that are available in our price range. This was not thie case here. However, once we got the time to try out this product, we were pleasantly surprised!! We were thinking.............free...........must be ... ...for if it is any good. We first tried it out on Mother's Day this year. The whole family, children, husbans, grandchildren, etc all went out to the local golf club to have lunch. We took many photos and they ALL came out excellent. I was surprised at how easy this camera is to operate. It is so simple. I though digital camera..........difficult camera!! Not so. It has the small screen to see what you are viewing and once you get used to the few seconds ...

I've used a DC215 ever since they were first released. I'm impressed. I started out many years ago with a top spec SLR and bought the DC215 because it seemed to offer good features at a reasonable price. Since I made the purchase I haven't looked back. I only use the camera for straight photography rather than using image manipulation.
