I received this camera as a gift and I certainly can't complain. It takes excellent pictures and displays them well on the good sized screen on the back. You are given the option to zoom in to have a better look at your picture and then delete it if you are unsatisfied. It includes up to a 3x zoom when taking the picture and has features specifically for scenery pictures and also for closeups such as flowers and art. To zoom, all you need to do is ... ...and off involves the sliding of another button and most things are self explanatory. If you find difficulty with any aspects, the manual is very clear and helpful.
Another pleasing feature for myself is the option to take pictures in black and white which I have found fun to experiment with. Pictures may also be taken in sepia, which is like an antiqued effect. Document style makes text stand out, which may be of use for some. Borders may also be ...

...for money I chose the Kodak DC 5000 which I purchased from Future Shop in Winnipeg, Canada for Cdn$499 (Approx 225 UK pounds) . This price included a Cdn$100 (approx 43 UK pounds) instant rebate from the store. I also purchased a 16Mb memory card to supplement the 8Mb card included with the camera giving me a capacity on a normal setting of some 150 photographs. The quality of the pictures, even at setting below the highest definition, is as much ... ...I paid Cdn$49 (approx 24 UK pounds) to buy a SanDisk ImageMate which takes the media card and allows for immediate and very fast downloads and can be left permanently attached to the computer.
I can thoroughly recommend the Kodak DC 5000 digital camera to anyone seeking to buy. ...

If you are looking for camera that is built well and hold up to the rigors of nature then this is it. It fairly large but build to keep out the water and dirt. I have seen a picture of it being showered off but have not tried this yet. It has a 2 mege pixel resolution and a good zoom 30mm - 60mm with built in flash and bright LCD srceen on the back to see what you ahve taken. Also has 25cm Macro.
