Why buy a digital camera?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The recent birth of our second son led to the inevitable photo-fest and the bank-balance-hammering cost of film development. Of course I’ve no objection to that, until I realised that within ... ...venture above £200.
Why Kodak EasyShare DX4530?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw this model in the catalogue at £250… 5 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and 3.3x digital zoom (combined zoom approx. 10x).
Digital cameras were available from 2 megapixels up to 6 megapixels. Very few had greater than 5 megapixels, most with the handsome price tags I could not afford to pay at the moment. So I ...

...been a big fan of Kodak cameras. When I was younger my parents bought me my first camera, an Olympus, even my last digital camera was a 3-year-old Olympus D490, which took unbelievable photos, but the time had come to purchase a new camera. As I have a 9-month-old son, the most important features for me are automatic point & shoot operation and size. Also, as with all small cameras, red eye can be a problem, so the red eye reduction must be good ... ...saw an ad for the Kodak DX4530.
I was convinced this was the camera for me, so I went down to my local camera shop and purchased it. I took the camera home and opened the box. Nothing much inside except for a lens cap, wrist strap, Audio/Video cable, non-rechargeable battery, USB cable, Kodak EasyShare software CD with interactive software tutorial, as well as step-by-step instructions.
This camera is very easy to use; I simply dropped the included ...

Advantages: Features including video, image quality, features Disadvantages: Ni-cad batteries are a must for longevity, 16MB memory not enough
Our DX4530 is the second Kodak digital camera we've owned and is already completely indispensible in our household.
The first one was dropped accidentally and this was its more expensive replacement! Immediately, the huge images it produces and their quality impressed.
In fact, for many people the maximum image size, at something like 2500x1700 pixels, will probably be a little too large. You'd need a good graphics package to make the most of them ... ...for images of this size; Kodak really should have considered more memory. This may be fine if you need to take a couple of snaps and download them straight to the computer, but go on holiday for two weeks and you'll never have room. Fortunately, the DX4530 accepts SD cards, and, with the 512MB card I purchased separately, it can hold approximately 370 pictures at full size or 30 minutes of video. 1GB cards are now available stretching this ability ...

Advantages: Attractive price, high image quality, ease of use Disadvantages: One slightly twitchy operational issue
The Kodak DX4530 is my first digital camera, and I must say I am very pleased with it. Since I don’t have unlimited funds, my attention was first drawn by the amazingly competitive price: £138 including VAT, the lowest I had seen for a 5 megapixel camera. My first reaction was “What’s the catch?” Well, to get the best performance out of it, there are a couple of accessories that I decided to buy, namely a 128 MB memory card and a camera dock which ... ...the images and opens the Kodak Easyshare software which provides a good number of resources for viewing, editing and printing your photographs. The results were simply stunning. Every shot boasted beautifully crisp, bright, vibrant colours, perfect pin-sharp focus and wonderful definition, regardless of the lighting conditions in the scenes. In short I was incredibly impressed, (as were the rest of my family who saw the shots.) They are the best ...

Advantages: Optical Zoom, Picture Quality, Video Quality/Length Disadvantages: Digital Zoom, Battery Recharge
I received the Kodak EasyShare DX4530 for Christmas 2003. I was very pleased with the item for the following reasons:
Picture Quality - The quality of the pictures is amazing! For such a small and cheap camera you are able to take 20"x30" sized pics. Because of this, I have it set to the lowest quality which is the same except around A4 sized. I am extremely pleased with this.
Storage - The camera has 32Mb internal memory which doesn't seem much ... ...battery, you must buy the Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock II. This is not cheap and is a complete con! I have purchased the docking port which to be fair, is very good. You attach the docking port to the mains and the computer and then attach the camera to the port and it recharges the camera very quickly. You can also transfer pictures and videos from the camera to the computer by the touch of one button located on the docking port. It is just the fact ...

...When my Kodak camera arrived, I was very pleased it's size and weight. Sleek and modernistic design, it appealed to my artistic nature. But when I took my first picture, and viewed it on the LCD screen-- WOW. You can actually pan back and forth on the picture while still on the camera. Zoom in too! I love my camera and I use it all the time. It has alot of options that I use in almost every situation. ...years ago I bought a Kodak DC3200 Digital camera which I now felt I had "grown out of" .
