Advantages: takes pretty good photos, makes good prints, diverse program modes and functions to choose from, pretty easy to use overall Disadvantages: not as sharp as many top-end cameras, and some modes can be a little confusing or difficult to use
...USA), my previous camera, a Kodak 2MP model, carked it in a rather catastrophic way. You know you're in trouble when the lens opens and closes on a whim - usually when you've got the perfect shot all lined up. And so my camera, Bert, did just that. For a year Bert was a faithful servant, but he'd been dropped on his head too many times, and I had to declare him brain-dead after the lens started doing it's own thing. Owing to my arrival in a new country, ... ...had memory cards and assorted Kodak paraphernalia already, and being a cheap bastard as well, I decided that a new Kodak would best suit my needs. And so it was that I found Bob, sitting in a Target somewhere in suburban Los Angeles.
Bob has been my generally faithful slave for the last 6 months. Initially he cost me about $200US. And he certainly got quite a lot of use in his first days with me, and Bob did some pretty good work in Yosemite NP ...

My mum just bought this camera for her birthday in August 2003, she got it from Comet for £199 and I have just got back from holiday where I took it along to use.
Firstly the specification of the camera - the picture quality is 3.1 megapixels, which for me was plenty enough, the pictures looked excellent when we transferred them onto the computer and just as good when we printed them out.
The optical zoom is x4 and the digital zoom is x 3.5 which ... ...good deal closer to the subject you are photographing.
To download the pictures to computer you use a USB lead which should come supplied, but you have to install the software first, which was a bit of a pain as some other cameras I have used the software is in the camera which means you can download to any computer - not just one. But this is not a major gripe.
It is compatible with PCs and MACs and there are several settings for various kinds ...

...myself and decided on the Kodak Easyshare DX 6340 as it appeared to offer both value for money and great specs for the cash. I was not disappointed!
I bought the camera from Dixons for £179.00 and took a lot of pictures over the holidays in a variety of conditions. The picture quality of 3.1 megapixels is more than enough for an amateur camera user like myself. My partner, who is a keen photographer was also pleased that he could adjust settings ... ...yet managed to get the Kodak easyshare software off my start bar on the PC. There have been some complaints about the battery life on this camera, but I have found a way around it: on the set-up menu, you can switch off ‘live view’ – the screen does not automatically come on and stay on – you only have to press the little mouse to activate the screen. Through this alone, I have made the rechargeable NIHM battery it came with last over five months ...

Advantages: good picture quality, easy to use, compact Disadvantages: case quite easy to damage, lens cover not very durable
I was given this camera for my birthday having previously used an SLR camera. I've always loved taking pictures and tended to come back off holiday with 10 reels of film to develop but never really believed that picture quality could be as good with a digital camera.
I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised. I worked out how to use the functions on the camera without ever consulting the instructions (only available on CD which could be a bit ... ...an extra memory card with the camera and I could see that if you didn't have that the capacity on high resolution would be rather small. I've recently bought the camera dock to go with this camera as I was getting through an incredible number of batteries (don't even bother trying to use AA batteries). Even without this, the EasyShare software makes transferring pictures to the computer fairly painless although I do find the organisation a bit confusing.

Advantages: Easy to use and good view LCD screen Disadvantages: Lack of storage
The Kodak Easy Share DX6340 Digital camera is very simple to work, you will be amazed at how easy it is to capture those special moments. I was intentionally apprehensive about it, but you will know the camera inside out after one hours play with it.
It has a 3.1-megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom, large 1.8-inch LCD monitor and Kodak's exclusive on-camera Share button which makes this camera very good value for money. It features a professional-quality ... ...3.5x digital zoom (for a 14x total). With its 3.1-megapixel resolution (2,032 x 1,524 pixels), you'll be able to make print enlargements up to 11 by 14 inches. In addition to taking still photos, the Easy Share DX6340 is capable of recording continuous video with audio. ...I have now owned the Kodak DX6340 for a week now and here is my review.
This camera is not the smallest on the market, but it does have the advantage of having a slightly larger screen than others (1.8"), which has impressed my friends immensely! I also bought the docking station, but if you have a battery charger save your money and just download directly from the camera. Saying ...

Advantages: Great Zoom, Excellent Value for Money, Looks Good, Picture Quality Disadvantages: Too big for pockets...that's it!
So I figured it was time to get one of these new-fangled digital camera thingies. I did all my homework, checked out the pros and cons, searched the web and the high street and finally....I came up with this little beauty
The homework certainly paid off, because I'm now the proud owner of a rather nifty little digital accessory, and already hundreds of excellent quality photos
So where do I start? Hard to say really. The picture quality is excellent, ... ...and gals at Kodak. Even at maximum zoom (oh yeah, 14X by the way...) the quality is great. I've uploaded them to my computer and even when you zoom right in to the smallest dot, the dot still looks good
It's simple to use. The "auto" setting pretty much covers any eventuality and takes great photos in any conditions. For a little bit extra there's presets like Night, Landscape, Sports and Portrait which change the settings and make a good picture ...

I think this is a great camera. I've had it for a few years now and I still love it. It takes great looking pictures and you can also do a very short video with this camera. It is very simple to use and I've never had a problem with mine. It does have the zoom option for you to use also which I use often. This camera is definitely worth the price. Advantages: Even a technophobe can use it! Disadvantages: Small internal memory.
I was bought this camera by my husband last Christmas and it has been everywhere with me since then. I am extremely bad at using anything very technical; I really can't work out how to programme or even use the VCR! There are several different modes of use ie settings for close ups, moving targets, cloudy days etc. the camera also has zoom and widescreen capability. I have taken some particularly good close ups of flowers which I have used to make birthday cards. The software that came with the camera has made ...

Advantages: Clear, good quality images that you can see before you print Disadvantages: a little pricey
Just before Christmas I argued with myself that I did not need a digital camera. I already have a perfectly good non-digital one and a camcorder that takes still images so why would I possibly want a digital one? Especially when they can be so expensive! But when I went home to the States to visit family for Christmas I changed my mind the instant I saw this camera. My mother received one for Christmas and I was hooked! The pictures that she printed ... ...quality. They were not like all the fuzzy, not quite photo quality prints that I had seen from other cameras.
My husband and I decided right then that we would by one. We tracked one down--not that easy just after Christmas--and even bought the printer dock that allows you to recharge the camera and print wonderful high-quality photos directly from the camera in just a matter of seconds. I had my camera for christmas 2003 off my dad, who also owns one of these. He said to me what digital camera do you want, and after using his, i decided to go with the same as his.
The camera is very easy to use, simple point and click, zoom mode is also easy to use. Also once you have taken a pic, the menu is very easy to go though.

It has a camcorder function which is invaluable to catch those golden moments that cannot be caught in a photo alone. Functions include auto mode for general picture taking.
