Advantages: Good video out, pouch Disadvantages: Below expected images for a branded camera, battery life, niggling faults
The Konica Digital Revio KD 100 was the first Megapixel Digital camera with an LCD preview screen to retail on the U.K. High Street for under £100 and as a camera has been around for quite a while. Whilst its there's now around half a dozen or more 2 megapixel cameras on sale for the same price as the revio, with Konica recently introducing it's own 2 megapixel DC 25 retailing at only £10 more, is the KD 100 a good buy or not? Looking around the ... ...each image size, but the Konica fails miserably on this. For example an 800 x 600 pixel (450k pixels) image taken on for example a Jenoptik JDC 2.1 megapixel looks sharper than a 1280 x 1024 pixels (1.3mp) image on the Konica. Now this brings another question to the fore. In most image editing packages an 800 x 600 pixel will be opened at 1x magnification if your monitor is set to 1024x 768 resolution as most 17 monitors arethese days. A 1280 x 1024 ...

Advantages: Price, SD/MMC Cards, LCD Screen, Records movies, great image review facility, video out Disadvantages: Sometimes sluggish, No bundled memory cards, No bundled inline battery charger or power adapter
...around I came across the Konica KD100 at a number of stores online, all selling it for around £100, and considering the features I bought it immediately.
The first thing I noticed was the large, concise manual- clearly explaining all facilities of the camera (not that it was needed, the cameras interface is very intuitive). Another plus I found in the box was the leather carry case with belt loop and the wrist strap- must haves if you want to keep ... ...shipped with the camera contained some great software for touching up your photographs, removing red eye and organising your photographs.
The camera allows for 6 different quality settings, 3 at high resolution (large picture size) and 3 at low resolution (small picture size)- absolutely fantastic as this allows you to trade-off quality for file size (NOTE: all files are stored as JPEG). At the lowest quality on low resolution you can store 112 ...

Advantages: Good price! Disadvantages: Very low megapixels!
My husband bought me this camera 4 years ago as a christmas present - he bought it from argos for £99.99 with a 1year manufacturer warranty- and it is still going good and strong. I do not know how much it would retail at today - but I know it would be a lot less - when this was bought cameras were very expensive and this was a good price - but as technology has moved on - prices seem to have decreased!
It is quite big for a digital camera (however ... ...but is suprisingly light!
When you open the box, inside you find:
*Camera
*Carry case
*USB cable
*Video Cable
*Manual
*PC Software
It is a silver camera with a resolution of 1.3MP, web cam capability (although never tried this out) and modes to capture still photos or video clips (still images are captured in a JPEG format)
Turning the camera over, you will find a good sized colour LCD display screen, which shows what is viewed through the ...

Advantages: Live USB Image feed, LCD monitor, flash modes Disadvantages: No Audio on moving image clips, memory cards are expensive compared to other makes
An Excellent Handy camera, pictures and video clips are easy to take and there is no fussing around within complex menus. Simple controls and special features make it perfect for everyday use. The camera is small and compact weighing only 120g so is easy to take around with you.
The lens is of high quality and the results for standard size images are impressive, more so than other cameras around the KD-100s 1.3 Megapixels. The automatic exposure ... ...The Video clips are in JPEG format and are of very good quality, the only drawback being the lack of audio. Although this is made up for by the live USB feed which is good for both still and moving image.
The camera is good value for money being available for £79.99 to £89.99 in most places. One thing to be wary of though is the manual, which fails to give much information about those functions which, while not needed for everyday use, can be useful.

Advantages: Lightweight, Simple, uses SD memory Disadvantages: Poor instructions, Takes dark photos in poor light, overtaken in spec/price
I bought one last year- at time the only megapixel cam you could get for £100. Initially impressed with pics- but lots of difficulty setting up - very poor instructions. Bundled MGI photosuite very good.
Use rechargeable batteries, always have a spare set- using screen/flash (and when you download to computer) will eat batteries!
Pictures adequate but cam 'takes dark' (inside is ok because you can use flash) images suffer outdoors in poor/winter ... ...conventional 6x4 size best. In good conditions colour definition excellent.
I wanted a relatively cheap digicam for hiking/mountain bike trips where they was a real risk I might break/loose it. The truth is things have moved on and many 'net sites and even Argos is offering two or three (in one case even four) megapix cameras for around £100 so I am wanting better (after only 12 months)
The camera was great when I bought it but I could not recommend ...

Advantages: Cheap, good quality, feature packed, easy to use. Disadvantages: Difficult to use some buttons at the top of the cam.
...less than £100. But the Konica KD 100 surprised me.
This USB camera can be used as a standard camera achieving up to 1.3million pixels, which is a good amount for the price. It produces very near 35mm quality pictures on best mode, and good enough pictures on lower settings. The inbuilt 8MB memory can store up to about 100 pictures and can be upgraded using SD cards.
The camera has 2x digital zoom, video out, auto flash, and self-timer. It also ... ...can also be used as a web cam using the drivers supplied, however it should work immediately with Windows XP.
The only down side to the camera that I can find is that some of the buttons are near the top of the camera and some are on the rear of the camera, so changing modes using the top buttons can be tricky if your trying to look at the digital display at the same time.
The batteries included only last a few hours with constant use so I recommend ...

I own a KD-100 and I am very impressed by the quality of the pictures and I use the camera mainly for fun. The MAJOR problem with the camera is that it just eats batterys like they don't exist! trust me about this, I used approx. 10 batterys in a month with this camera so in the end I had to buy rechargeable ones. The intergrated memory is moderatly spacious but I recomend buying an SD card although they tend to be expensive (it's worth it). It is ... ...too! For begginers it's a brilliant camera.
Features:-
I think that the features on the KD-100 are very reasonable. The dissapointing thing is the lack of sound on the video function (but it's a camera so what can you expect!).
I really love the 1.3 million pixels as they really give a clear sharp picture.
I think this product is worth buying! ...

the only other problem i have had is in trying to obtain a ac adapter or the camera.

Advantages: Light weight easy to use Disadvantages: battery power
I found the KD-100 to be easy to use, easy to follow manual, the camera is light weight and the LCD screen is of a good quality. The only thing is that you seem to use a great deal of battery power. I have got around this by buying a Ni-Cd/Ni-Mh battery charger, so I always have spare batteries. An I brought a DC adapter for when I connect to my PC. The KD-100 can be used as a web cam and I find it is effective. The photo quality is good, but it ...
