Much more than a spec list
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 by
5kutbag
Advantages: Antishake, Fine EVF, Manual zoom, manual controls
Disadvantages: Too much for some, not enough for others
...a marketers. Hats of to Konica Minolta for having the nuts to make what is essentially one of the UGLIEST cameras ever, but has been voted Editors choice in many a camera mag/website.
In kung fu terms, its the understated cool dude who leaps out of nowhere are whips all the brash and arrogant young ninja into shape. You heard me.
Anything I missed?.........It has a pretty good wide or telephoto macro.....it has a proper 49mm thread for filters ...

Top-quality images and zoom at an affordable price
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 by
happydadtoo
Advantages: Lens; picture quality; price; durability; features; zoom range; weight
Disadvantages: Non-removable lens; battery life; discontinued :(
INTRODUCTION:
I have bought two of these cameras - one for myself and one for work (I am a semi-pro photographer at a major public school), so pleased was with my own camera.
The A2 was, in about 2003, just about the best of the 'prosumer' digital cameras available and won many awards. In the relentless cost-cutting that is so prevalent in this market, Minolta then kept the lens and image sensor, but cut the features and the price and renamed it ...

A year with a Minolta A2
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 by
niglom
Advantages: Versatility, great results, long battery life
Disadvantages: sluggish shutter speeds
First apologies if this sounds similar to my A1 review. It is and for good reason. They're identical apart from the larger picture sensor of 8 mega pixels and the enhanced viewfinder resolution.
This is a great camera, classed as a "prosumer" it falls between a full on digital SLR and a consumer digital snapper.
It's ideal for someone who wants to move on from their first digital camera to something that gives more control over the end picture.
Sensor

Feature filled camera for the keen amateur
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 by
SteveBriscoe
Advantages: Fast auto-focus, high resolution, easy to use and great for learning about photography
Disadvantages: slight lens shading, bit ugly looking
I found this camera was packed with features which guides you to learn all about photography and what the camera can do. If you shop around, you can pick one up for around £450 which I think is very good value for money considering what the camera has to offer. The quality of the images is very good, although I do get a slight shadow in each corner of every shot which has to be cropped or tidied up afterwards. The battery seems to last a very long ...

Dimage A2
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 by
PhilipHales
Advantages: Tons of features - even irons shirts!!!
Disadvantages: If left unused for a period of time you have to swat up on how things work
The only thing I would add to the other reviews is that there are so many features that I find if you do not use it for 3/4 months, you can easily forget what all the buttons and knobs are for.
However, I concur with what the other say - it is a really great camera. I find the time delay very interesting. You can film a flower opening over a period of hours. I set it up on the bedroom window looking into our cul-de-sac. The number of cars over ...
