Advantages: Compact size; quick response Disadvantages: only 2.8x optical zoom
This ultra-compact five megapixel camera felt deliciously small after my chunky old Nikon 775. Setup was straightforward (after a week, I still haven't looked at the manual) and the playback and menu buttons were well labelled.
Images are stored on an SD card (16MB included) and you can view them by plugging the camera into a USB port (cable supplied).
The X50 turns on via a slider at the front, which means it's difficult to switch it on accidentally. ...

Advantages: Easy to use - large screen Disadvantages: You need to buy a bigger memory card
The Konica Minolta X50 is very small and slim and yet has a 2 inch screen. It has 5 megapixals.
