Powerful Mega Zoom lets you fill the frame with a distant subject. It starts with a 36-290 mm 8x optical zoom for stunningly powerful shots of far-off objects. And there's 4x...
more...digital zoom to take the number up to an astonishing 32x total zoom, giving you the creative control you want for beautiful, imaginative photography. DiMAGE Z20 features Konica Minolta's high-speed, Rapid AF(Auto Focus). This hybrid system - a combination of a passive AF sensor and a video AF system - achieves superbly accurate focusing in just 0.3 seconds at both wide-angle and telephoto positions, to assure you of beautifully-focused results, quickly and automatically. Predictive Focus Control assesses the motion of moving subjects to deliver sharper images. An advanced algorithm judges where your subject will be when the shutter is released, and sets focus accordingly, so you can capture sharper images of moving subjects. Turn power on and in just 0.5 seconds, DiMAGE Z20 is ready to capture beautiful images - the fastest startup time for any camera in this class. Shutter release time lag, another critical factor in camera response, is also extremely short at only 0.04 seconds. And DiMAGE Z20 takes just 1.5 seconds between one shot and the next. With Progressive Capture you keep on shooting until you capture the moment you're waiting for. In this continuous shooting mode, you just hold the shutter button down until you're satisfied. And when you release the button, DiMAGE Z20 records the last six shots in the sequence. DiMAGE Z20 boasts a 5.0-megapixel primary color CCD and incorporates Konica Minolta's exclusive CxProcess III image processing technology to deliver beautifully clear, detailed images even at full zoom. You'll especially notice the fine detail and natural color reproduction when you make large-size prints up to 35 cm x 26 cm (14 inches x 10 inches) at 150dpi print resolution. When you want to capture moments in motion, DiMAGE Z20 can record 15fps VGA (640x480) movies, perfect for playback your PC monitor. You also have the choice of QVGA (320x240) recording at a smooth 30 fps or 15 fps. Mega Zoom, autofocusing, and Night Movie are all available for high-quality movies under a range of conditions. And as an added plus, Movie Frame Capture lets you save individual frames from your favorite scenes as still images. Use both 8x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom when shooting movies in exactly the same way as when taking still shots. So you can zoom in close to the action from a distance and enjoy all the same exciting creative possibilities.

Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 by jack604624

Advantages: Easy to use, great pictures, lots of great features
Disadvantages: Larger than most modern digital cameras

I have owned this camera for almost a year now, and I have to say, it is great value for money. Ok, so it's a little larger than most digital camera, but it's worth it for a budding photographer. The 8x optical zoom is awesome for a start, allowing the user to take great shots a good distance from the subject. At the other end of the spectrum, the Macro is also fantastic, focusing at distances of only 1cm from the subject. The 5 Megapixel CCD creates ... Read review

Quick review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 by dtp4you

very easy to use with enough user variables to suit most people. Very good on battery use I use a 1GB SD card which gives me ample storage. Downside takes a bit too long to get going so it's easy to miss a suddenly needed action shot. Use the view finder in preference to the screen and the batteries last a lot longer.

One gooooood camera
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 by milc03

Advantages: Good pictures, quite easy to use, good zoom
Disadvantages: lens cover isn't good, big and bulky, labels are confusing

I got this camera a few years ago and since then it has been nothing but good. First of all it takes good photos, but it is also quite easy to use but some of the labels on it are quite confusing. Another bad thing is that the lens cover isn't very well designed and breaks quite easily and didn't really stay on much to start with. However it is easy to view and the pictures and also zoom in and it has quite a good zoom. Aswell as this it boots up ... Read review

Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 by n3xus

Advantages: Optical Zoom, Nice Design, Good Menu, 350+frames per Batteries, Good Curves for Steady Catching
Disadvantages: Big, Not so good Quality of Pictures, No Anti-shake option, No voice when Recording Video, No Underwater Housings available, Small Viewfinder

Well, i have this Konica for almost a year now. I cant say that im using it a lot or im into photography a lot. I Bought it cause it's a cheap [but not crappy] digital camera. It has some nice features like a GREAT 8x Optical zoom + 4x Digital that enables you to Spot nearly Everything. Unfortunately the Anti-shake option which is present in other models does NOT exist in Z20 so its too dificult to take a picture when using zoom or taking pictures ... Read review
