Philadelphia is probably one of the better known cheese spread brands, and apparently its got good cause to be - as a brand name its been around since 1880, when the cream cheese was named 'Philadelphia' after the american city that was, at the time, thought to be the heart of fine dining and fine foods . Well, fine dining Philadelphia is not - but it is yummy . Coming in rectangular plastic containers, this creamy, thick, soft white cheese has a ... ...the middle of a celery stick, or spread on top of a hot beefburger. Taste wise, its creamy and nice, but maybe a little bland . With this being a light version , it perhaps feels a little less sinful than the full fat version but theres no noticeable taste difference . However, its this blandness that makes Philadelphia so versatile - it goes with anything. I'm sure you've all seen adverts on TV with the angels smearing it on everything - I've tried ...

Advantages: Low fat and they really have improvced the taste! Disadvantages: Cant think of any.
I Love philadelphia. It is, without a doubt THE best spread cheese around. I would also love to lose some weight so try to opt for the low fat / calorie options foods. I've been buying philiadelphia light, (sometimes even extra light if i'm feeling good!) for about a year now and i have to admit that it doesnt taste anything like the full fat version, in fact it doesnt taste of anything at all if i'm being blunt, more like white slop. That is, until ... ...up my usual carton of Philadelphia light, only to find that the label said it had a new improved flavour. 'Yeah, right.' I thought to myself as i can never tell the difference when manufacturers say they have improved a product and have always beleived such statements to be marketting gimmicks. However, much to my immense delight, this 'NEW IMPROVED TASTE PHILADELPHIA LIGHT' tastes exactly the same as the full fat version and it hasnt gone up in ...

Advantages: tasty, creamy, and very low in calories Disadvantages: none
I love butter. I love melted butter on hot toast, but the trouble is it's just laden with calories. If you're trying to watch your weight that means moving onto those disgusting margarine spreads which taste nothing like butter.
I decided to buy Philadelphia with chives as an alternative for butter. How gorgeous it is on hot toast. It's full of flavour, creamy and tasty - yet with less calories than the most calorie conscious margarine spread. Did ... ...around the same calories as a couple of packets of crisps ??!!!.
OK, so I still miss butter, but even if I was wafer thin I would still opt for this on my hot toast in the mornings. Give it a try - it's truly delicious. Oh, and it doesn't make you stink like the one with garlic might do :0) ...

Advantages: Wonderful taste Disadvantages: doesn't last long!
I just love Kraft Philadelphia and I have just changed to the 'light' variety, hoping it is healthier for us, and I haven't noticed any difference to the normal kind.
It's lovely on mini-oatcakes, topped with litle rolls of smoked salmon, for posh canapes. So quick & easy, and they were very popular. But the other day I found a new use for it. We were having pasta and sauce, and I was using a jar of ready made pasta sauce, but when I opened it I ... ...could do to it. I wished I had some marscapone to mix with it- as that's one of our favourite pasta sauces-tomato and marscapone. So I fished around in the fridge and found the remainder of my Philadephia light. I wonder, I thought. So I stired the Philly a bit at a time into the heated sauce, and kept tasting till it was right. It was super, really nice, quick & easy and I will use this again. I might try it in soup as well. ...

Kraft light Philadelphia in my oppinion is the only way to eat cheese.
If you have never tried soft cheese I urge you to try it:
*Do not have to slice it,just spread it on
*Low in calorie
*No need in butter so also keeps those calories butter has.
Philadelphia is not as strong cheese taste instead its a perfect blend of soft cheese and cream leaving your taste buds that cheesey taste without the harsh kick that many other cheeses leave.
Its ... ...on salad
Also try the kraft philadelphia snack great for a quick snack on the round.THE PHILADELPHIA SNACK includes a pot of light philadelphia and 8 Italian breadsticks, a healthier and tastier alternative to crisps or chips.
Philadelphia is a little more expensive at £1.30 for a tub but its like spreading heaven onto your food.
Philadelphia snacks cost as little as 69p a heavenly price for a heavenly spread ...
