Kraft Philadelphia - A Little Taste of Heaven ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why I buy Philadelphia ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am a great fan of all things cheese, from soft cheeses to hard. I have always loved Philadelphia, whether it be the normal version, light or even extra light, I find no difference in quality between them. As I am currently on a diet the extra light version is perfect for me. The same great taste but better for you! And those adverts, although annoying look so tasty and always have me craving Philadelphia and they remind you that you can still have these tasty recipes with Light and ... more

Advantages Advantages Can help you on a diet, or if you are health conscious

Disadvantages Disadvantages Nowhere near as tasty as the regular version

Introduction. (ooo how I yearn for the full fat!) Now, call me a traditionalist, but I like my cream cheese full fat. In the past I have thought, what's the point of a light version, why sacrifice the gorgeous taste, for the sake of saving a few calories? I adore Philadelphia and it is probably my favourite of all cheeses (although Brie does come a close second). I could eat Philadelphia on it's own, I find it that yummy. On toast, crackers, apples, burgers, steaks, with chips, a dip with veggies, anything! One day, I decided to start a health kick, and came to the (quite obvious) conclusion ... more

Advantages Advantages tastes good, lots of uses

Disadvantages Disadvantages only lastes a week

How I got into Philadelphia Philadelphia seems to be a product that iv been using for ages now. In fact I cant even remember the first time I tried it as it must have been quite a while ago. I don’t actually think that the extra light version tastes any different to the normal full fat version of Philadelphia so the reason I buy the extra light version is simply because its not as fattening as the full fat version. What is Philadelphia Philadelphia is a soft cream cheese made by the food company Kraft. The Kraft company is one of the most famous brands for food in the world making ... more

Advantages Advantages great taste, heathy, good for snacks

Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit pricey compared to other spreads

Introduction ~~~~~~~~~~ Okay, I LOVE this, well I adore all cheese but Philadelphia is so addictive that I end up putting more than putting more that I should in my bread rolls and on my bagels (yum!) and feel like one of those "angels" in the advertisement on TV for the spread! My hubby is also a big fan of all things cheesy (maybe why he married me:) and loves the taste of Philadelphia spread on toast - he will eat it any time of the day as a snack, I am pleased that he likes to eat a healthy snack, but being a man (sorry guys!) a thin spread is not enough for him --he likes it layered ... more

    Advantages Advantages tasteful, healthy, practical

Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit pricey in the long run

What a coincidence; it was just this week that I first purchased Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light cheese spread, so what better opportunity will I have than to share my experience of this product with you now?! Why Did I Purchase? -------------------------------- There are two main reasons why I initially purchased the cheese. The first of which is that I have recently become quite addicted to the Kraft Splendips products (little snack pots with various dips, including a cheese option). I fell in love with the Philadelphia cheese at first taste, and wondered whether it would taste as glorious ... more

Advantages Advantages Low fat and calories. great taste and versatile

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None to mind

Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light Spread Spread it all over I don't know about anyone else, but I am a big lover of all things that spread on toast - cheese spread, marmite, pate, jam, lemon curd and even the odd pot of Nutella graces the cupboards of my kitchen. These fantastic spreads are my sin, my fall-down and my weakness, all rolled into one. I don't believe in a thin covering with the knife - I want to sink my mouth into the toast with generous portions of spread - why spread so thin I can hardly taste it? The only problem is that lifelong phrase comes back to haunt me: One moment on the ... more

Advantages Advantages Great for people watching their weight and very versatile

Disadvantages Disadvantages Probably not for people who are lovers of the full fat variet

Introduction. I was never a lover of Philadelphia Cheese in any form. My daughter loved it on toasted bagels but personaly I found the taste very bland and stayed clear. Then in 2006 I started doing (what was then called) the No Count plan with Weight Watchers. (This plan then became Core and is now lurking somewhere under the muddy waters of the Discover plan as Simply Filling.) Anyway, I digress, on the No Count you basically ate three meals a day of as much as you wanted from the food list - the only cheese allowed on this list was this extra light cheese and cottage cheese - this was ... more

philadeplphia extra light was founded by a American milkman by back in 1872, which is a long time ago, I am really suprised the Kraft company make a time line story about this. I am sure most people are familiar with the kraft Philadelphia Television advert from a few years ago which I will not bother talking about in too great detail as it showed a beautiful female sitting down on a Sun Bed ouside on a warm summer's day looking to enjoy herself by eating the original version of Philadelphia spread. So here I am now reviewing kraft's extra Light Spread. I am thinking to myself, what would the ... more

    Advantages Advantages taste and light

Disadvantages Disadvantages have to eat less if your dieting

Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light So your looking for a tasty snack, well look no further. This is the best cream cheese product I have come across and it has a lot less calories than the original Philadelphia, which is quite high in calorie intake and that's a dangerous thing if your dieting and love the taste. The Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light however, is a nice treat without the guilt. Philadelphia cream cheese has 8.2 grams of fat and 86 Calories for a 30g serving. Which is 1/3 less fat than other cream cheeses. Philadelphia contains 5.5 grams of fat and 64 calories per 30g serving. So if ... more

Advantages Advantages Gorgeous creamy tast, low in fat, great price, versatile

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

When I clicked on product of the week I was really pleased to see that finally there is a product that I can write about enthusiastically and with a bit of knowledge. It has even prompted me to carry out a little research on the history of the product, so I do hope you enjoy my review. In 1872 the first cream cheese is made by William Lawrence an American Dairyman in New York and in 1880 the name Philadelphia is chosen as the brand name. This is because the City Philadelphia is considered to be the home of top quality food. At this time it was sold for the first time ever in foil wrappers. In ... more
