Kraft Philadelphia - A Little Taste of Heaven
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why I buy Philadelphia
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am a great fan of all things cheese, from soft cheeses to hard. I have always loved Philadelphia, whether it be the normal version, light or even extra light, I find no difference in quality between them. As I am currently on a diet the extra light version is perfect for me. The same great taste but better for you! And those adverts, although ... ...when Phoenix merged with the Kraft Cheese Company in 1928 and new, more consistent manufacturing processes followed. ...god awful rubber cheese squares…urgh!). Kraft are the second largest food and drink company in the world! Based in America, they officially started business in 1903. As far as the cheese itself goes, Philadelphia is available in other varieties, such as garlic and herbs, chives, as well as light and it's original full fat. The reason is it called 'Philadephia' is because back in 1880 when cream cheeses were first being made, it was named 'Philadelphia' ... ...Then some 20 years later, Kraft took on the brand (they were previously known as Phoenix, if anyone's interested). The extra light variety came onto the market in 2001 and claims to have less than 5% fat content. Then in 2006 it was remarketed as having an even tastier recipe…(really?? Could have fooled me!)
'''What is it? (apart from tasting vile)'''
'Philadelphia Extra Light' is a 'sweet' and smooth cream cheese, made from pasteurized milkfat. ...

==Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light Spread==
===Spread it all over===
I don't know about anyone else, but I am a big lover of all things that spread on toast - cheese spread, marmite, pate, jam, lemon curd and even the odd pot of Nutella graces the cupboards of my kitchen.
These fantastic spreads are my sin, my fall-down and my weakness, all rolled into one. I don't believe in a thin covering with the knife - I want to sink my mouth into the toast ... ...I can hardly taste it?
The only problem is that lifelong phrase comes back to haunt me: One moment on the lips, a life-time on the hips. Honestly, the person who invented that phrase was designed to taunt me - I call that bullying in my house!
But in all seriousness, I have had to take a hard look at what I really AM spreading on my toast. I want to be healthy and fit into those gorgeous skinny jeans I bought in the sale, so diligence and care ...

...I am really suprised the Kraft company make a time line story about this. I am sure most people are familiar with the kraft Philadelphia Television advert from a few years ago which I will not bother talking about in too great detail as it showed a beautiful female sitting down on a Sun Bed ouside on a warm summer's day looking to enjoy herself by eating the original version of Philadelphia spread. Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light
So your looking for a tasty snack, well look no further. This is the best cream cheese product I have come across and it has a lot less calories than the original Philadelphia, which is quite high in calorie intake and that's a dangerous thing if your dieting and love the taste.

Cream Cheese. Even saying the name out loud makes you look fatter.
Oh the joy of spreading a good dollop of rich, thick, creamy Philly on a Ritz cracker and popping the whole thing in your mouth at once, licking your lips to pick up any errant cracker crumbs that might have spilled over as you took that first crunch!

Trying to be health concious I thought I'd give this product a try not really expecting it to be as good as other products being sold. How wrong I was, I was indeed more than surprised at how tasty it was, in fact even my husband and the chidren and grandchildren were eating it at every opportunity. My Kids love Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light, When we first tried it i was expecting it not to taste as nice as the full fat version, but we all think it is nicer it still tastes creamy and smooth.
You can use it in a variety of ways as a spread or dip someone told me they had even used it as a cheat cheese sauce although i have to admit i havent tried it myself but may one day.
We love it on crackers best of all, it is also nice eaten with carrot ... ...veg and there is a creamy texture and still a bit of tartness that you sometimes get with cheese but you also get the smoothness of the cheese.
I tend to buy it when it is bogof in morrisons because it has a good expirery date, you can buy a couple of extra tubs and not worry about eating them within the week, and if you have a cheese fiend like i have and loves any type of cheese it never gets anywhere near the sell by date.
