...Artois, Grolsch and Carlsberg Export, Kronenbourg is a strong lager and its strength can lead to some unfortunate situations... here's five things you shouldn't say when you've been drinking Kronenbourg 1664.
"Yes, Darling, you can have another baby..."

Personally, I blame Kronenbourg for the birth of my children. Kronenbourg 1664 is the company's premier brand, carrying an ABV (Alcohol By Volume) rating of 5.0%. Considering Carlsberg, one of the UK's best selling brands, carries an ABV of 3.8%, the difference in alcohol content is quite dramatic. Still, I've always enjoyed a pint or two of good ol' ...

Kronenbourg 1664 Lager
===================
Well, I feel it my duty after bringing some fairly hard reading topics in the past, to bring to you something light, and frothy. Something a little bit different, something a little bit chilled out. I give you…. Kronenbourg 1664 Lager.

I myself enjoy a drink, and having tasted a great variety in my short time, I have to say I am most definitely an assured Lager drinker, and as such feel it to be rather befitting to bring you this opinion, Kronenbourg – A Krackin’ Pint.
Cost

Kronenbourg is unfortunately I have to say one of the most expensive, costing upwards of £2.50. There are extreme fluctuations In ...

Many may be forgiven for thinking that Kronenbourg was a German beer due to its name. I was one of those until I delved a little deeper into the history of this magnificent beer.
Kronenbourg is infact a pure French product. Who could have possibly thought that France could produce a beer with the character that it has.

Advantages: Strong lager, without the sicky after taste Disadvantages: Maybe over priced
Unsurprisingly, Kronenbourg 1664 was first brewed in 1664 by the Hatt family. They developed what has now become one of the favoured little tipples of Europe. Kronenbourg 1664 was specially launched in the UK to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.
So, enough with the history, what does it mean to me!
Kronenbourg 1664, in my mind, is only rivalled by Stella Artois for its strength and flavour. Having said that, I prefer 1664 without ... ...night out.
----Packaging----
Kronenbourg 1664 comes in many handy sizes:-
25cl Bottles
330ml Bottles
440ml Cans
750ml Bottles (my absolute fave!!)
and, of course, is also available over the counter of most bars in pints and half-pints.
----Overall----
I can’t hype this lager up enough. This has been my ruin since the first time I sampled it (way back in 1995). The taste is subtle, but strong. You don’t feel like you’ve ...

Kronenbourg is a common enough sight in most supermarkets. You don’t have to go far down the aisles to find cartons of cans, or four packs of bottles stacked high and subject to a variety of offers. You are likely to come across the tall and shapely 750ml bottles too in the chilled cabinet. It is also not unusual to come across this lager on draft down at the local. This brand is France's top-selling beer and more than one out of every five beers sold in France is a Kronenbourg. Over there, Kronenbourg is a synonymous with a pilsner type beer with a slightly bitter note and good malt and hoppiness. The name comes from Cronenbourg a historical ...

...here in the UK is KRONENBOURG 1664. It's widely available in bottles and cans, and in recent years has been more and more common on draught in pubs. Kronenbourg is the top-selling beer in France and is in the top ten highest selling beers in Europe. It all began back in 1664 when Jerome Hatt produced his first barrel of beer in Strasbourg. In the 1800's the brewery moved to the district of Cronenbourg - the K was added to make it sound more Germanic ... ...The company attribute their growth to the period after WW2 when they began selling their premium Bièrre d'Alsace in small bottles when most other lagers were low in strength and sold in litre bottles. Following many mergers and acquisitions, today the company is in partnership with Scottish & Newcastle Brewers of Edinburgh. 1664 was launched in France to celebrate the coronation of Elizabeth II (don't ask) but was named after the year the Hatt family, ...

Kronenbourg was first produced in 1876 in Paris,France and from then on has grown to become the largest selling beer in the world. Personally speaking Kronenbourg is not my type of beer. I prefer the likes of Carlsberg and Heineken on the several occasions that I do choose to drink beer. However being the number one selling beer in the world it obviously is revered amongst the beer drinking public and more so in the Americas and Europe. The ingredients ... ...beer drinkers find different with Kronenbourg and which is what makes Kronenbourg appreciated by the majority of beer drinkers worldwide. The brewing process used is also slightly longer than most other beers and they claim to use an exclusive beechwood aging process, which naturally carbonates and clarifies the beer. However to me this clean and crisp taste is what I personally dislike. In my view a beer should have a strong character and bite. ...

...is by no means unplesant. Kronenbourg 1664 is a nice golden colour and besides the draught version you can buy the rather distinctive red and white cans of it down at the local off licence or at many of the major supermarkets in town. I think it would make a tolerably good lager to take with you on a picnic, goes well with salted crisps, peanuts, and pickled eggs, and would be a fine accompiament to a pyrotechnic curry at the Balti House in town. ... ...refrigerator ? ...to be a bottle of Kronenbourg 1664. I used to love the stuff before I started on Stella and after I had finished with Fosters, but an over indulgence once to often lead to me becoming sick of the taste and as such going off of it a little.

But where does this bottle before me come from, well France and to be more specific, ... ...year the brewery was founded Kronenbourg 1664 was founded and the rest as they say is History.
So that’s the history lesson out of the way, what about the price? Well I normally drink it in pubs when there is no Stella and I fancy a pint of lager. And a pint of Kronenbourg in our local sets us back about £2.49, which is about the norm for most of the places around here.
You can of course buy it from your local Tesco/ Waitrose/etc delete as appropriate ...

...lager. Which is where Kronenbourg (better late than never) finally comes in...
I'm a confirmed lager lout, a lover of the sparkling amber nectar, and on this particular night, it goes down so extraordinarily well.
While the dave27 clan were away in La Belle France last week, Mrs D insisted on getting some cans of lager, very much against my better wisdom, but am I bloody glad she did, cos I really needed one tonight. It wasn't the 1664 super heavy, ... ...now, won't it?
Anyway, Kronenbourg Frais is a lovely drink of lager, clean and pure and refreshing and just right after a hard night's watching the box.
A six pack of them ran us just £1.60 in E Leclerc, a French hypermarket, and in anyone's language that's wonderful value. The cans are decorated with a rather garish red and white large check pattern with the standard Kronenbourg crest and they come in a 33 cl size which the can reports as being ...

KRONENBOURG 1664
-----------------
Wow, a beer review, it has taken me a while to do another one of these, which is quite surprising really seeing as I love the stuff.
Over my short time on this earth I have tried many different types of beer, and only three stand at the top of my list of essential drinks.
Kronny, Stella and Newcastle brown ale, so here is a review of my top drink, my number one alcoholic beverage.
Back in 1664 Jerome Hatt brewed ... ...that we now know as Kronenbourg 1664 was released.
----------
The look
---------
Kronny looks a lot like any other lager or beer, but with a lighter feel to it.
The colour is a dark yellow, with a tinge of gold.
A bit darker than stella but not as dark as Newcastle Brown.
There are a lot of bubbles showing that it has a very carbonated taste to it.

...So tonight my tipple is Kronenbourg 1664. One of my favourite lagers is Stella Artois, but having sampled Kronenbourg I am now torn between the two. That’s up to now anyway, I still have a lot more beers to try. Price comparison: At Sainsbury’s. Prices may vary from shop to shop.
Kronenbourg £ 4.49 x 4. 440ml cans. £1.13 a can (approx)
Stella Artois £ 3. 94 x 4. 440ml cans. £0.99 a can (approx)
If I had bought Stella I would have saved ... ...Carlsberg again ugh.
The Kronenbourg can is navy blue, on the front of the can is a large white oval shaped rosette kind of a picture with red ribbons sticking out of it. In the centre of the rosette in navy blue writing are the words Kronenbourg 1664.
Shall I open the can now. Did you hear me pulling the ring pull or did you hear me shout because I’ve just broken my nail. Damn.
Well never mind let’s carry on, I’m gently pouring ...

Ah Kronenbourg 1664.
I first tried this tasty thirst quencher when in Paris on my honeymoon with my husband!
There i am daintilly sipping on my flat coke while hubby is getting ever-so-slightly glazed over on his glass of ice cold lager.
It was soo hot forget daintilly sipping man! i knocked the coke back in a one-er and after many embarrassing "Barney Gumble" impressions was STILL thirsty, so i sneaked a sip of hubbys lager to quench my thirst ... ...all) i HAD to drink Kronenbourg the rest of my hol!
Seriously though, this is a drink for women too, its not as gassy or "heavy" as "Budweiser" or other lagers.
It has a really refreshing crisp clean taste to it, it quenches your thirst and doesnt leave you with that bitter aftertaste you can get with other lagers too.
It even tastes nice with a wee girly twist of lime juice in it!! (It was all going so well!)
The bottles are Very attractive, ...

Advantages: It tastes just sooooo damn good Disadvantages: Definate hangover and really expensive (well worth it though)
Who would have thought that something so fine and pure could emanate from France? The country that created Citroen’s can create the finest lager available on planet earth. When I enter a new alcoholic beverage purveyors establishment (pub), my eyes look longingly towards the beer taps…Carlsberg, Carling, Heineken and oh yes Kronenburg.
My addiction stems back to a lads booze cruise to St. Malo where we stayed in a campsite. Being English ... ...in extreme quantities. We scraped together enough French to ask the rather agitated French campsite owner where the closest supermarket was. We travelled in style to the ‘Champion’ supermarche (actual name) on our dishevelled bikes, with one massive basket and of course a union jack flag. Advantages: Yum yum yum Disadvantages: Looney juice
First the boring bits:
Price - Depending where and when you buy it, not as much as you would think. Tescos often have this on special offer and you can pay anything between £18 to £24 for a case of 24 500ml tins. Buy it in the pubs however, and in Kent, you could be paying £2.50 a pin. Ouch!
Ingredients - Water, hops, malt barley and yeast. It is comforting to find ONLY these things listed!
Strength - Our wimpy version(!) 5.1% and the real malarky ... ...supermarkets....
Packaging - Would you know what I meant if I said a 'substantial' can? These are not nasty cheap bendy tins that crush in your hand or in the bottom of your supermarket trolley! The can is appealing and well designed. The royal blue and red and very posh crest give it quite an upmarket feel!
So on to the opinion, rather than the spec!
