It has to be said, I'm a confirmed lover of champagnes of all types. However, last Feb 14th, my other half treated me to a bottle of Krug (to my mixture of horror and delight, given the price) and I have to say, it not only looks very different to any other champagne out there, but it tastes totally different too! If you are after a quick celabratory toast to knock back in a minute, then go for a cheap champagne such as Lanson, or Veuve Cliquot. These are pleasant enough to be quaffed on New Year's Eve, but I feel somewhat Mundane everyday items. I love champagne who doesn't ? and there is so much hype these days about 'A' list champagnes and who drinks what and when and who with ! I first tried Krug on board a BA flight, I have not looked back since - this champagne is indeed very very special. It has the most wonderful golden colour and it is so smooth deffinately a hint of vanilla with a real biscuity taste. The bubbles are subtle amd plentiful.
