When my Zanussi washing machine decided to start depositing black and grey marks all over my washing, and refused to take the softener from the drawer, and also started to smell vile...I knew it was time for an upgrade. We went to Comet, spoke to a sales assistant and told him we had very simple criteria – a large drum, fast spin, and quick wash option. This is our second LG washing machine. The first was a top loader which we had in South Africa, we passed it on to our daughter who shared a flat with friends at university. We loved it. The LG model model F1256 QD is a super machine even though it is at the lower end of the price range. We'd had two Zanussi washing machines in succession.Both had given us approx five years of heavy use,three washes a day,every day.Both were changed because of noisy bearings and it being more economical to replace than fix.LG was our choice,this time, because of the two year warranty and the level of noise promised,very quiet.Upon delivery,you have to remove four transit bolts,not easy and manoeuvre the machine into situ.Again,not easy as it's a fairly weighty machine.There was a new hose supplied which i initially ignored.The machine seemed solid enough and we put it to the test.I had a leak ... more

Afternoon all! A few months back my partners washing machine packed up - disaster really. so, working at a wholesalers, i offered her a load of machines, and she picked the "prettiest" one. Typical.
