56p -61p a litre!!!!
Review of LPG Conversions by ScottishWestie

Advantages: Cheap fuel, reliable, good for the enviroment
Disadvantages: Takes up some space, only 1200 filling stations

...be converted to run on LPG which almost cuts your fuel costs in half. Currently, there are around 140.000 cars running around the UK able to run on LPG & 11 million worldwide. With around 1200 filling stations with LPG facilities in the UK you are never far away from being able to fill up. LPG is a by product of the extraction & refining of crude oil giving no burn off & it is very environmentally friendly. LPG vehicles emit less Co2 gases, little ... Read review

Save money and less emmisions
Review of LPG Conversions by MartinImber

Advantages: Cost of fuel, cleaner emmisions, better for engine oil
Disadvantages: Initial cost, lack of filing stations, tanks space

I have fitted a Romano System N SGI system to my Omega 2.6 V6, it can off a previous car which had issues. I will cover day to day first. The car starts on petrol then switches to gas when ready, the switch also allows petrol usage as desired. The car is a tiny bit slower than on petrol and a bit thirstier (Propane has a lower energy density per litre than petrol), it is also a little quieter on gas. Day to day fuel costs are roughly half ... Read review

Save Yourself A Fortune
Review of LPG Conversions by the_mad_cabbie

Advantages: Save LOADS of money. Clean fuel. Grant assisted.
Disadvantages: See opinion

...anymore.) So if you convert to LPG your yearly running costs will be reduced considerably. I remember reading an article in one of the newspapers here that pointed out that it only takes the average motorist covering around 12,000 miles a year about nine months or so to recoup the initial cost of the conversion, and to start making big savings on their motoring costs from then in. ~ ~ The second major benefit is that LPG is a far cleaner fuel ... Having a gas
Review of LPG Conversions by Katenray

Advantages: Cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap...
Disadvantages: Availability in some areas

...which I had converted to LPG around two years ago. The coupe was not particularly thirsty petrol wise, however as I did around 20,000 miles a year I decided that converting to LPG would save me a considerable sum of money. The LPG tank is a 65 litre 'doughnut' shaped tank which fits snugly into the spare wheel housing underneath the boot carpet, and therefore does not take up any boot space. I don't carry a spare wheel anymore, instead I carry ... Read review

LPG should you? My experiance as a guide.
Review of LPG Conversions by gasdriver

Advantages: Cost if done right
Disadvantages: Cost if done wrong

I have been running on LPG for a little over five years now, and covered a shade under 220,000 miles in two cars. The first car was a Honda Accord 2.2 Coupe that had 65,000 miles on the clock when I had it converted to gas. Used was a cheap and basic OMVL kit. This basically converted an injection engine, into a carburettor engine by inserting little more than an open pipe into the inlet manifold, allowing the engine to suck the gas into the cylinders ... IVE GOT GAS - OF THE LPG VARIETY
Review of LPG Conversions by floater

Advantages: Cost, Improves range, Energy reliance, green, improving technology
Disadvantages: Small amount of petrol to start

My LPG conversion was installed a year ago I had being toying with the idea for a while. after hearing my partners uncle had it on a Lexus I took the plunge. 2 grand a small wheel like tank in tool slot at rear of vehicle and it was installed. The LPG can be switched between petrol and LPG and the fact you can have a tank of petrol and a tank of Gas gives your car a longer range. The LPG tank is full for £20 as oppose to £30 for half a tank of petrol ... Read review

A matter of calculation
Review of LPG Conversions by MuratM

Advantages: Low cost
Disadvantages: Many in the long run

...a converted (or already installed) LPG system vehicle, I had done a very thorough research on users for a decision if I should convert as well or not. In Turkiye (most of you call it Turkey) almost all the taxi cabs and most of the municipal busses are equipped with LPG. As you would see an Austin in the UK or Chevrolet Caprice or Checker Marathon (not anymore though) in NYC, taxi cabs here in Turkey are virtually all Tofas (Turkish made under ... Read review

Review of LPG Conversions by Fozzi

Advantages: Low cost fuel, cleaner engine, cheaper tax
Disadvantages: None so far

...put up the tax on LPG - the fact it is classed as a green fuel might keep them from doing it. One thing - the person who fitted my system has been doing it for 15 years - he is Romanian - nd told me that everyone who buys a new car in his country gets it converted almost immediately 'the only reason it isnt so popular in the UK is because people are too rich' he told me. I spoke to him 6 weeks later as I was getting my 1000 mile check and ... Read review

Quick review of LPG Conversions
Review of LPG Conversions by clanless

I had my 1.6 Vauxhall converted 9,000 miles/6 months ago. It runs fine on the motorway but is not as responsive as petrol at lower speeds. LPG has 80% of the energy of petrol so you get less MPG. The most I have managed is 33 mpg - and that is driving 'economically'. It cost £900 to convert. Should take me about 20k miles to recoup the cost (taking into account lower mpg and the price difference), so about a years motoring. You will hear people who say the car runs the same on LPG as it does on petrol - the truth is it doesn't. The engine is designed to run on petrol not LPG and LPG doesn't have the same punch. Go 4 it.

LPG Vehicles,Should you or Shouldn't you
Review of LPG Conversions by Rich1972

Advantages: Cheaper fuel costs/extended service intervals
Disadvantages: Finding petrol stations that sell LPG

...suggested I look into an LPG conversion,I read a few reviews as I was not sure how a second hand car with 50.000 miles on would react,Decided that the car was worth investing in the price of the conversion. My first dilema was what sort of tank to use,ie a doughnut tank in the spare wheel well or a free standing tank in the boot area,I wanted a fairly decent range on mileage so opted for a tank in the boot as the wheel well was to small to fit the ... Quick review of LPG Conversions
Review of LPG Conversions by davroshudson

Well I took the decision to convert my 2 cars over to LPG when petrol hit £1.15! The savings were obvious and with a LPG distributor selling the stuff at 48p per litre I have been quids in since it was done. I have saved £95 a month in the first month and the car is running great on it. I liked it so much I wrote a blog about it to let people find out more. Its here http://www.lpgguru.co.uk/ If You find it helpful leave me a comment ! Good luck on your conversion Its been great for me and I am very happy.

Which LPG Convertor
Review of LPG Conversions by www-lloydash-co-uk

Advantages: Reduced Fuel Cost, Lower Emissions, Exemption From Congestion Charge
Disadvantages: Initial Cost, Choosing Quality System.

...object by fitting an expensive LPG system when trying to save money? Well in short, probably no. Fuel Savings per year are around half with average fuel usage around £50 per week yearly savings average £1300, this combined with differences in conversion costs of around £400. But it's all well and good having an LPG conversion, but if you have to take several days of work with problems saving £400 begins to look a small price to pay. A good LPG convertor ... Read review

Review of LPG Conversions by allanwales

Disadvantages: Slightly less opportunitys to refill, slightly more difficult to do so.

...you could, that had the lpg fitted with it, and make absolutely sure you get a gas certificate! My car was bought for 300 pounds, i was very lucky, the carina had very low miles, and was top of the range. On a 2.0 litre automatic, lpg would get me 220 miles, at a constant 60 miles an hour, on what cost 13 pounds to fill up (at 37.9p a litre). Thanks very much for reading this short review, i hope it's of some help to someone purchasing in the ... Read review
