    MY STORY - Why I went to LX Direct ----------------------------------------​--------- Last October I moved from Essex to Cornwall, I live in a small village just outside St Ives. This year we needed to by a fridge freezer, there were two issues preventing this 1) Money 2) Where would we buy such a technologically advanced thing.     A few years back I needed to replace one of my children's television sets, and didn't have a very good credit rating. As I had just managed to get connected to the internet, I decided to have a look at some of the catalogue sites, one of which was Index Extra, which has recently been renamed lx-direct. It was on this site that I found the television set I wanted at a reasonable price, so I decided to see if they would give me credit.     OMG! I've just read a review from someone who was having trouble with a bed...... Last year we decided to order a new bed from lxdirect.com, we ordered it at the beginning of January (around the 3rd) and eventually finished having trouble in June!!!! The bed didn't arrive so I kept ringing them, it was delivered in February so I just thanked the blokes for bringing it eventually & laughed with relief at the fact that I no longer needed to sleep on a mattress on the floor..... little did I know........ My partner was working so I had to leave it all in the hallway until he got home & moved it ... more

    When looking for a new mobile phone, I saw an add to get the particular phone I wanted at a much cheaper price from this company. I even read the negative reviews on this website but naively thought 'it wouldn't happen to me'. After proceding with the order, I was pleasently supprised when a package arrived two days later. Upon opening it however, it turned out they had sent me the wrong phone.     I bought a very small item from LX direct and can safely say that I will not be buying anything from them again in spite of their good prices. With my item (a pair of child's boots) I was offered "next day delivery", as I had ordered after 5pm on a Tuesday they sent an email confirming delivery on Thursday. After waiting for a delivery all day Thursday & Friday I tried to contact them using the phone number to no avail, each time I called I received a recording explaining that their operators were busy and I should call back later or send them an email.     Goodness me I wish now that I have read these reviews before I ordered the divan bed. I ordered the item on 11th March 2007 on my account the expected delivery address was 9th April 2007. The 9th came and gone with no delivery of the item. I queried it since the 10th with no satisfactory answer!!!!!!!. Today I requested cancellation of the order and a refund my monies I have already paid and was told that the bed is in transit since the 21st and can not receive a refund until they receive the bed back.     I've never written a review b4 but after my experience i had to. I've bought many items online b4 and this was the first time i used lwd. I've never experienced such bad customer service in my life. I ordered 2 coats a black and a khaki but found a better disc code and so reordered with the intention of returning one. I should also point o ut that their website doesn't make it clear until too late that there's only one address on the account (usually you get billing and shipping). So i had to have it sent home whilst I'm at uni. As I'm travelling 2moro my mum would have to do next day delivery ... more

    I have'nt used lxdirect much this year mainly because of their delivery service and they are not as cheap as other places on the net. My problem all started when my washing machine died and the parts needed to repair it were obsolete so I decided to search the internet for a new Bosch washing machine I found lxdirect had a few with £50 off so I decided I would buy it from lxdirect (first mistake) the express delivery option had disappeared from the delivery options so I opted for the standard delivery 10 working days (second mistake) I did'nt think it through properly 10 working days or 2 ... more

    Used this company twice first item broke second item waited a month delivered wrong item then could'nt deliver original item as it was out of stock. Please be aware this company is so disorganised and badly run that if you order from them expect lengthy delays and frustration steer well clear Im writing from experience.

    terrible customer service!! do think twice before you shop!! they lost the items that i ordered and made some charges on my card. no matter how many times i complained to them, they always relied with the same answer.. "The carrier confirmed all other goods were left in your front porch on 26.09.07. Please let me know if these goods have not been received. I apologise for any inconvenience caused. " it seems like that didn't bother to read my mail at all !
