    I first came across this product a few years ago when it claimed to add only 3 x more volume – these days they’ve increased the hype, upgraded the formula and made it 4 x more effective apparently. Voluminous X4 is L'Oréal's first mascara to give 4 times thicker lashes and claims that it will result in no heaviness and no clumping. The ‘formula’ is enriched with Ceramide-R and Panthenol to protect and condition.     This has bein a staple in my makeup bag for over a year now, it's a nice basic mascara and I can't really fault it. It's widely available and I got mine from Boots for around the £8.50 mark, prices do vary though depending on where you get it from, i'd say the average price is between £7-£9 which is quite expensive but it's a decent quality mascara and a tube lasts for ages so I can't really complain. I have this mascara in black but it's also available in carbon black which I am guessing is a more intense shade of black.     After many years of searching for the right mascara, one that would give me flawless lashes at an affordable price I think I have found it. The voluminous X 4 mascara from L’Oreal ticks all the right boxes in what I look for in a mascara and is now my weapon of choice when it comes to creating both my daily and nightly eye makeup look. What is special about this mascara? With a name like voluminous X 4 I would say it is pretty obvious what this mascara is intended to do, give your lashes 4 times more volume!     4 times the volume I thought? That seems a pretty tall order to me! If it does work-surely it would all clump together into one big eyelash?? Well, I will reveal all later in my opinion! The actual casing is grey with gold writing and a gold lid. It is a fairly standard size mascara and is 8ml. The mascara brush is quite a large brush-I find the thin ones difficult to use and the wrong shape for my eyes. This mascara is also suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.     I am reviewing the Waterproof version of L'Oreal Voluminous mascara in Black. It comes in a blue tube (the non-waterprooof is a grey tube). Some macaras do lengthening, others do curling, but this one does Volume. I guess it depends what you want. I already have long lashes, and if I curl them I look like an idiot. So volume is the only option for me. This one does what it says on the tin. This was one of the first mascaras I bought 8 years ago.     Advantages Advantages creates lovely long flattering eyelashes adds nice volume without clumping

    Disadvantages Disadvantages one problem ive found is that it does tend to dry out quite quickly compared to other brands

    This mascara has to be one of my all time favorites! I think that loreal has to be one of my most favourite and trusted brands. What I like about it is that it has a very thick bristle brush, that seems to coat every single lash individually, and speaking upon behalf of my friend this is what she needs. I will explain. My friend has a very destructive habit, which i dont know if any of you know about. She pulls her eyelashes out.     I, like many other women who weren't blessed with long, dark and fluttery lashes, am on the hunt for the perfect mascara. You know, one that will give length, volume, darken my lashes and give them a lovely curl. I heard many, many good things about this mascara and eventually purchased it, despite not liking L'oreal due to their animal testing practices.     It took me years and alot of money to find the right mascara as i have quite short eye lashes but i have finally found the right one with L'Oreal Voluminous. Now my lashes and thick, long and full. If not applyed properly it can go clumpy but i put on one thin coat, let it dry then put on another for extra volume. If you have short lashes this is perfect for that extra volume, and if you already have long lashes they will look amazing after applying this mascara.     I've used this mascara for years now, and I'm dreading the day they stop making it! I have about six tubes in my drawer incase they do stop. It's definately the best mascara I've used and I refuse to use any other. I already have long lashes, but this mascara makes them seem longer a thicker. So many people ask me what mascara I use because my eyelashes look so nice. I even got the nickname "Panda Eyes". However, this mascara isn't for you if you want a very subtle look.
