Advantages Advantages Sorts out dry hair

I bought L'Oreal's Elvive range Colour Protect Conditioner for two reasons, 1) they sent me a 50 pence coupon off it - I am a girl who likes a bargain and 2) I have no idea what my original hair colour is - have not seen it since I was 16. I bought it in Wilkinsons for £1.49 before discount and thought that this was a very reasonable price to pay for 200mls - my normal conditioner costs £3.99 for a 250ml tub. It is specifically for coloured or highlighted hair. Despite my mother's warnings that dyeing my hair would make it fall out, after 14 years of peroxide I still have very thick, long hair ... more

Advantages Advantages Keeps colour looking better for longer, Smells lovely, Smoother/Softer Hair

Disadvantages Disadvantages In my opinion nothing!

~ THE SHAMPOO ~ The shampoo is made by L’Oreal Elvive and is aimed at people who colour their hair. Most people know that colouring hair can damage it, causing it to become dry and brittle. It also makes the hair more sensitive to the sun and pollution. The shampoo contains a new formula with reinforced actives. The formula is even more concentrated which bathes the hair and transforms the surface, which leaves hair feeling smooth and soft to touch. The shampoo is also is enriched with UVA & UVB Filters which helps to protect hair from external aggressions and leaves colour shimmering ... more

Advantages Advantages Feels nice, leaves hair shiny, good price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not sure about the colour protection?!

Well, I wrote about the L’Oreal Colour Protect UV Filter Shampoo a few opinions back so I think it is probably about time I gave the same treatment to the matching conditioner having had time to “test” it a few more times. Hair conditioner is very important for me as my hair has been bleached, dyed and tortured for the last 23 years so I guess I should give it a bit of a treat each time it is washed to discourage it from rebelling against me. The search for the ultimate conditioner is a long and arduous one and I have to admit that although I have found several good ones THE ultimate one has ... more

    Advantages Advantages Very Few

Disadvantages Disadvantages Product promises are not fulfilled.

Reasons for buying the product. As you get older, and vanity to a certain degree dictates that you colour your hair, you have to think about the condition of your hair, especially when using colourants that are harsh on nature, and most are, and I wanted to see that shine of youth in my hair as well as colour. Many of the dying products give you a small sachet of conditioner that makes it feel soft and glowy after the initial dye, although after several washes with ordinary shampoo, my hair was dull and lifeless. The product promised colour protection, which to me is a good thing, because ... more

Advantages Advantages shiny, clean, soft , healthy hair. Makes colour last longer.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

This is a very good conditioner, I have just started using it as I found that my colour was fading and the ends where dry. Since starting to use colour protect my hair is soft to the ends, very shiny and smells fantastic. It is very creamy and leaves no build up. The price is exeptionally reasonable and most times I can buy it on buy one get one free, having said that at £1.99 it is not too expensive. My colour now stays truer for longer and my hair feel great. L'Oreal also do a one minute hair masque which is fantastic, priced at around £3.49 a tub it is a valuable addition to the shampoo and ... more

Advantages Advantages Gives you lovely hair first of all

Disadvantages Disadvantages After awhile it doesn't effect your hair

When I first used L'Oreal Colour Protect Conditioner, even when my hair was wet I could feel the difference. My hair felt really light, full of body and to put it rather simply absolutely wonderful. It did stay like that for the second or third wash, not as wow as the first time but that could have just been me just getting used to it. For some reason I have this problem with majority of shampoos and conditioners which is annoying. By the end of the first bottle and starts of the second bottle my hair was back to being ordinary and boring. I admit my hair color hadn't faded that much at all ... more
