    Today in TJ Hughes I saw a selection of these lipsticks priced at £1.99 each. I've never used these lipsticks before as the usual price of these is £5.99 and to be honest I usually just pick up cheap but branded lipsticks in places like TJ Hughes, so I was pleased to see these as being a L'Oreal product and I thought it would probably be a bloody good buy at that price!     Background ~~~~~~~~~~ After reading great advice on De-junk your make-up at Superdrug by cgibson I decided it was about time I updated my lipstick. Since this is the only piece of make-up I wear every day, wanted a real treat…. So off I went to peruse the aisles of Superdrug testers in our local town….     Only last week when I walked into Boots the chemist I noticed that the L`Oreal stand had been put in another corner of the store. There was the usual line up of cosmetics including Rimmel, Barry M, Maybelline, Max Factor and a couple of less well known names in the world of cosmetics and L`Oreal stood alone. I supposed it was one of the one hundred and one marketing tactics that stores are so keen on applying.     Don't you ladies just love lipsticks? Well I do if anything I'm like a little girl in a sweet shop when i proceed past the rows of enchanting colours they have on offer at the make up counter, The Reds .Browns Pinks oranges, they collectively look so dazzling in their glamorous rows, and then you get the unusual bright psychedelic range too and not forgetting the glitter ones or the moisturising ones.     I never used to wear lipstick, to me it was always something my nan would wear, i was more of a gloss girl i guess. But the more i read the beauty sections in the mags, the more i thought i should give it a go - and then i got a bit obsessed! So many brands...so many colours....which one to buy? Well i bought loads, pinks and reds and nudes, i tried them all. But i could never find one that had it all.     Having tried the full range of lipsticks on the market it has to be said that Loreal for me at least, is the best of the bunch. With it's pleasent smell, light even texture and superior moisture content this puts it in the league of other much more expensive designer brands of make-up. It has to be said it is the best value for money that I've found in lipstick products. Also I did read once that Loreal and Lancome (a 4 times more expensive brand) products are made by the same company, I'm not completely sure if this is true but there are similarities in the products ie. the pleasant smell and ... more

    Advantages Advantages moist, good range of colours, stays on, nicely scented

    I treated myself to some of this lipstick on my birthday as I had some money to spend and this lipstick looked very good value for money. As it happens, I have been very satisfied with my purchase and don't regret investing in it. It comes in a lovely gold-coloured casing with an attractive "lock" feature which, once you have it sitting nicely in your make-up bag, makes it look unique and special to you only. (OK, so maybe I'm going a little over the top - but I like it!) The colouring itself applies well - it's moist, enjoyable to wear and stays on for ages. It aslo has a nice scent to it ... more

    I had a L'Oreal gift set for Christmas and it included a Colour Rich lipstick in coral. It is quite a nice colour, though not one that I would normally wear. However, since it was a gift, I decided to try it out. The lipstick went on very well and it felt nice on my lips. Unfortunately I was not very happy about the staying power. It did not pass the coffee cup test and I had to reapply it several times during the day. At the end of the day, my lips still felt nice.     From my prospective, this products packaging is very slim and easily stored looks really attractive too because i think that it is just so cute!! But on the other hand it scratches very easily. When I wore this i only had to re apply it twice throughout the whole day. But when i had a drink it did come off onto the cup but i still had colour on my lips because the colour is so pigmented. In my opinion the only bad thing about this product is very pricey but it was well worth it!     I have always quite liked l'oreal lipsticks because they are generally good quality and have a good choice of colours. I bought this in Superdrug but there was a lack of testers and the lighting was terrible. I picked up a nice nude colour which I like very much and, unfortunately, another which turned out to be completely different in natural light! the nude one is a staple in my bag and is a lovely colour, a not too matte ,slightly pinky brown. however it needs reapplying all the time as it comes off very easily. consequently its not going to last long! I don't think I would buy it again ... more
