L'Oreal Nourish and Shimmer Highlights Shampoo Being a naturally dim blonde (shade of hair not personality) I do find myself getting bleach highlights every so often so that I don't look as washed out as my natural self would have me. Luckily for me (or unluckily as the case may be) my mother is a hairdresser so I will often have a full head of highlights done for free! This is more often than not a great thing but recently I have wanted to be a bit blonder and asked her to do the highlights sooner than she would normally have done them and she refused! Of course I don't want to go and pay a ... more

Advantages Advantages Prevents highlights from fading. Pleasant smelling. Reasonable value.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Did not enhance the shine of my hair.

I seem to spend a lot of my hard earned cash on my highlights, so I always feel that I should be using a colour protecting shampoo to keep my colour in tip top condition. I am a brunette, but I recently had some lovely golden highlights put into my hair. I was delighted with the results (if not the cost!) and determined to try and keep my hair the same great shade for as long as possible. On my way home from the hairdresser I made a detour into Boots, where I picked up L'Oreal Elvive Nourish and Shimmer Highlights Shampoo. I bought a 250ml bottle for £2.55, but they also sell a 400ml bottle ... more

Advantages Advantages lathers well, nice smell

    Disadvantages Disadvantages -

With my hair starting to lose its golden look and get a bit coppery, I knew it was time to change shampoos. I was using a brunette shampoo but in all honesty I don't want to enhance the red notes I want to bring out the golden tones. I already use the L'Oreal Elvive Nourish & Shimmer Conditioner, so I decided to try the shampoo as well as I thought that using them both together would make them work more effectively. Also, the conditioner works really well in making my hair feel really soft so I hoped the shampoo would do the same. L'Oreal is now apparent in 120 countries. Its original aim was ... more

    Advantages Advantages Very effective

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price?

*Introduction* My hair gets greasy so very quickly. I have to shampoo my hair every day otherwise my hair looks like it has been dipped in chip fat. Yes, it is really that bad. So when buying shampoo and conditioner, although I do consider quality, price is also a big factor as I do go through the bottles relatively quickly. Buy one get one free offers are my best friend when it comes to hair products and I have tried almost every shampoo as I'll buy whatever one is on offer! A few months ago I had highlights put in my hair but had noticed that had dulled somewhat. So when I saw L'Oreal Elvive ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice smell and easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't expect a miracle!

I recently bought this shampoo from my local Tesco. The shampoo is available in 200ml or 400ml packs, the size I bought was the 250ml and it cost me £2.59. This seems to be the normal price in Tesco as there was no promotion/special offer involved. The shampoo is also available to buy in most other supermarkets and chemists. The shampoo comes in a gold coloured plastic bottle with the name of the product clearly on the front of the bottle and instructions on how to use the product on the back of the bottle. To dispense the shampoo you just have to open the flip top lid at the top of the bottle ... more

Advantages Advantages Stopped my hair going dull

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None!

I bought this shampoo last month when I had my hair done, I have it highlighted blonde and I have tried quite a few of these shampoos now that claim to brighten the blonde. Even though I have never been very impressed with them, I hate my blonde going dull after a few weeks! So I decided to give this one a go which I saw in Tesco, by L'Oreal. This shampoo I got in a 400ml bottle, which I don't usually buy I prefer the smaller bottles to try them out first, but I couldn't see any smaller ones on the shelf. It cost me around £2.80 which I didn't think was that bad for a bottle this size, and as ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages .

I have been using this Shampoo for the last week and although my Highlights have been in for years i've never bothered much about using Colour Protect products. I just thought that any kind of Shampoo should be alright, but after using this one then I may have changed my mind. I have only seen this for sale in the 200ml bottle and this was selling in my local Asda for £1.89. No offer on this at the time unfortunately - What you mean I usually buy things when on offer? Yeah, I suppose that is true. The bottle looks like the Ciao picture - as usual. It is a gold-y, shiny colour and looks nice ... more
