...some vouchers for money off L'Oreal products, and after much umming and arhing at the shelves in Asda packed with a multitude of colours, I decided it was time to go drastic and get rid of my blonde enhanced locks and go for nice warm dark brown hair. So Mahogany Brown was taken home and put away on a shelf until I felt the time was ready.
A few weekends ago was the time and I was ready. So I carefully opened my little box of goodies to see what ... ...are really quite good, you get some gloop to put on your hair before you start. This is called Protective serum pre-colour care. OOOO sounds posh. A tube of colour, a big bottle with a nozzle with some more gunk in it, ceramide protien conditioner and some posh rubber gloves in their own little canister, rather than those cheap tacky ones that never fit and are normally found stuck to the instruction leaflet.
So after a quick browse of the easy ...

Advantages: I CAN AVOID ALL PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH THE HAIRDRESSER. Disadvantages: YIPPEE NONE!
I'm currently involved with so many age-defying products that my next op is likely to be written by an embryo. I've got no gripes about getting older per se ... indeed, in many ways it's very satisfying to have an entire half century (plus 3 years) of life to look back upon, with fond nostalgia. Some of the physical changes to my outer shell are, however, intolerable ~ and are being dealt with. One source of utter hand-wringing misery, has been the ... ...and unflattering colour, which can only be described as "Fag Ash Grey".
My original colour was "Burnt Umber". I know this, because it was a dead ringer for one of the browns in my paint box. I would have liked to have remained “Burnt Umber” indefinitely ~ albeit with a little assistance. But the odd thing about the wisp of grey hair is that it's totally unlike the rest of the hair on your head. It's bolshy. If you dye it brown, somehow it manages ...

Advantages: Good shade selection, good consistency, easy to apply, good end result. Disadvantages: Smell could be a little better, 'bare' shades (5, 6, 7 etc) can make your hair look dull and dirty
L'Oreal Excellence is a permanent hair colour I've been using more than any other colour over the years. It offers a good range of colours you can mix together if you like, and provides consistent results without having an obvious marketing 'gimmick' to sell the products with; just a good quality, basic permanent colour range. The product is packaged in a feminine looking peach-coloured cardboard box, with a picture of a model wearing the particular ... ...that the picture of the model on the box has been taken in heavy red/yellow studio lighting, and looks lighter than the shade will be on you in daylight, for instance. The box contains: a bottle of developer cream, a tube of colour cream, a little use-once tube of after colour conditioner, gloves and an instruction sheet. The developer cream needs to be mixed with the tube of colour as usual, and the mixture is nice and thick, so it doesn't drip ...

...I have never used L'oreal products before, but decided it was time to have a go. Having used products like Nice and Easy, I knew about dying hair, so how hard could this one be to use?

Advantages: Great coverage, easy to use Disadvantages: not enough conditioner for longer hair
...a tried and trusted make, L'Oreal Excellence Creme. Guaranteed to cover grey, it said.I realise that my hair isn't grey, (although it might be under the years of dye) but it was fairly white, so I was quietly confident that it would do the trick. There was a vast array of colours from which to choose. Normally I have it quite blonde, but to cover up the four colours I was now sporting would probably need something a little darker! I went for a shade ... ...it on the full length of my hair for very long as I didn't want it to go too dark. This product had it's work cut out. It had to significantally cover the dark roots and yet give even coverage to the rest of my hair which looked like a snowstorm liberally sprinkled with cinnamon! It reminded me of the frothy top of a cappucino!! Anyway, I wasn't convinced it would work.... Have you ever tried dying your hair in a caravan? It is an experience not ...

Advantages: Great shine, readily available Disadvantages: it stinks
On Saturday just before casualty was about to start on BBC 1, I decided it’s about time I coloured my hair. I bought the box months ago but just never got round to applying it.
I’ve never used L’ oreal before, my usual brand was letting me down so I wanted to try an alternative. L’Oreal promised to give the hair a deep conditioning shine and a colour that lasts, but then don’t they all say the same sort of thing?
Garnier Fructis just wasn’t lasting ... ...from my hair completely. So L’Oreal Excellence here we come. Here are a few questions and answers after my use on this product.

Its readily available anywhere but I bought mine from Boots as it was on offer.
How much did it cost?
Usually £9.00 but I paid £6, just a fraction more than the regular brands on the shelves and I got loyalty points on my Boots card!

...cheaper method and at £5.44 L'Oreal Excellence Extra Protection Creme or as it's known nowadays 'Triple Protection Creme' seemed an obvious choice.
L'Oreal produce a vast array of colouring products and it can be quite baffling when faced with them all but the box does have a Colour Result Guide on the side of it to show what result to expect depending upon your existing hair colour, a great help to us amateurs. I plumped for the Natural Dark Brown.

Advantages: An amazing coverage and end result for yourhair also great value for money. Disadvantages: None at all :D
...and i have always used L'Oreal Excellence Extra Protective Creme Colourant because of it's brilliance. The contents of the hair colourant is extremely good value for money. I used the L’Oreal excellence crème permanent hair colour last week. I use the number 9 natural light blonde. There are loads of different shades of blonde to use also different shades of black, brown and reds. Advantages: Good rich colour, decent staying power Disadvantages: It stinks!
...After trying several different brands, L'Oreal Excellece Creme has established itself as my firm favourite. The packaging is not as funky and trendy as some other brands, and at first I was dubious that I would end up with an old woman shade of dull brown. But, on the recommendation of a reliable friend, I bought this dye in a Mahogany Brown shade and haven't looked back since. The kit provides you with pre-conditioner, gloves, the dye itself, an ... ...idea. You rub it into your hair before you start dyeing where your hair might need some extra help. I've had trouble when dyeing my hair before with getting the colour to be even through my hair where it perhaps is a little fried from over use of straightners. The pre-conditioner helps overcome this, and is an excellent addition. To make up the dye you squirt the colour into the activator bottle and give it a really good shake up. The kit comes with ...

Review of L'Oreal Excellence Extra Protective Crème Colourant
Advantages: Leaves her lovely and soft and is quick Disadvantages: None
This product is not on your site but I did find a review entered with another product and based on that person's comments I decided to try it. I wanted a dark blonde to use as low-lights so I was taking a risk. We are not able to buy low-light products here in New Zealand. I have always used Preference before and been very happy with it however my hair was too light and I just wanted to add low-lights. It appears to be quite new on the market. It ... ...takes only 10 minutes. It was very quick and also lived up to it's promise of leaving the hair lovely and soft. It was not as "ash" as I had hoped but I was quite happy with the result. There are warnings on the pack, not to exceed the time limit. I have read elsewhere that someone had a much darker result than expected. I think it would be easy to be tempted to leave it longer than the time given and that could be the reason. The result I got, despite ...

...started to buy some (not L'oreal brand). Once, a friend of mine gave me the L'Oreal Excellence Extra Protective Crème Colourant product. Compared to other brand, in my opinion this is the best product I have ever used, except for the bad acid smells in the early use, I have no complain about it. The hair after dyeing was completely smooth and gentle, feel light! It's just like having a new hair :) The colour was perfectly fit in my hair since it ... ...bright after all, after being applied to my dark hair, and definitely this is what I wanted, not so bright but gives colour. ...works best for me is L'oreal excellence creme, it is very easy to apply, and you also get's some very good gloves with it, and not the ones that breks just looking at them.
L'oreal excellence comes in many different colours, my hair is black and I found the colour that matches it.
It is a permanent colourant last about 5-6 weeks, off couse depending on how fast your hair grow.

I bought my L'oreal excellence in Sainsbury, the cost was then about 6 pound, but you can get them in most of the big supermarkets, and to different prices.
