Advantages Good natural colour.

Disadvantages The new serum is an afterthought and is not explained in the leaflet.

"...make showed me that the L'Oreal range were actually more natural than the competition, who in the fight for the beauty market have come up with colours that nature never intended. I am having my hair streaked next week, with all different shades of auburn, but in order to have the main colour put on my hair at the hairdresser, I would have to pay an additional 30 Pounds, for something I can buy from the supermarket for 4 Pounds. Now that doesn't ..." Read review

Excellence in Hair Colouring

AdvantagesQuick and easy to apply

DisadvantagesVarious prices

"...very easy to apply is L'oreal Excellence Creme. My hair is long and thin, with a slight wave, and can be very unmanagable at times, and I also do not get it trimmed as often as I should, so has very wispy ends. L'oreal Excellence Creme comes in a wide range of colours with lots of different shades of each colour. I class my own hair colour as natural brown, neither dark or light, a medium brown and they have the perfect colour to match it. ..." Read review

Don't judge a hair dye by its box

Advantagesgood colour

Disadvantagesamount of product has shrunk

"...am currently sat with my L'Oreal Excellence crème hair dye on my head. I have it brushed up in a troll like style while I wait the 30 minutes for it to develop. I am using number 4 Natural Dark Brown. In Asda this was priced at £5.00; moderately priced amongst the other hair dyes. The most expensive hair dyes at the minute are the ones that develop in ten minutes. From previous experience; these take a lot longer and so find them a waste of money. ..." Read review

Colour me any colour you like

Advantageseasy to apply, covers grey hair very well

"...to. This product is L'Oreal Excellence Creme Revitalising. My hair is about shoulder length and very thick, the problem I found with other products was that they did not cover grey hair, apparently grey hair is much coarser than normal hair and does not absorb colours very well. The instructions with L'Oreal state that if you have grey hair you should leave the colour on for a little longer than the 30 minutes. L'oreal Excellence Creme comes ..." Read review

Safe as houses

Advantagesgood sheen

Disadvantageslimited colours

"I quite like this product. Application, instructions and price are fairly average. There are a limited range of colours available that I like and I have experimented with several of these. I just sort of randomly picked this product in Boots because I liked the packaging. In my experience, I would say that this is a safe product in the sense that it is very middle of the road. Hair texture is not particularly damaged by use of this dye (have not ..." Read review

Advantagescream conditioner makes your hair feel soft and does smell good

Disadvantagessolouring agents aaren't quite effective enough

"I get a kick out of dying my hair, so when I saw L'Oreals coupon for $2.00 off my next purchase of the exellence cream, I thought what the heck. I had tried some of L'Oreals colouring products before and couldn't remember ever having a problem with so I picked out a subtle dirty blonde color. I got home followed the directions(like I always do)coloured, sat and waited 25 minutes, rinsed, added the conditioning cream, rinsed again... then blow dried. ..." Read review

Hair colour, What hair colour

AdvantagesEasy to use, non-drip

DisadvantagesIt did not distribute any colour despite leaving it longer than the recommended time.

"I am a natural brunette and wanted a change. So i went into sainsburys after alot of researching, and picked up a box of Loreal Excellence Creme in a Rich Auburn. It was just the colour i was after. I picked this one up because the brand had a good reputation and was quite reliable I thourght. So cause i't was my first time dyeing my hair, i was a little nervous that i would have a reaction, but i repeatedly did the patch test till i found out doing ..." Read review

Blonde Bombshell

Advantagesclear instructions

Disadvantagestry not to change too drastically, you may not be recognised.:o)

"...prefer blondes and I think L'Oreal have got it right. Now for the technical stuff :0) It comes in the box complete with gloves (better quality so you dont put your fingers through) colour and conditioner. Priced around £3.50 - £4.99 depending where you purchase. It is easy to apply and takes about 30 minutes to develope. Oh yeah, and it doesnt drip all over the place,it has a nice creamy consistancy. The colour that you get obviously will ..." Read review

a Shocking effect

AdvantagesIt makes you feel good

Disadvantagescolour can change in sunlight

"I used the colour "Mahogany" a few years ago and because i have been going grey since 16 I chose this one deliberately as it said it would colour even the grey. At first it was lovely and everyone complimented me on my new look, however after about a week and a half of glorious sunshine "mahogany" turned into orange streaks - I felt like a punk! Ever since then I have stuck with dark brown which has been boring but predictable! So if you have a lot ..." Read review

Loreal for Blondes

AdvantagesEasy and economic

DisadvantagesNeed to practice highlights

"I have used Loreal products for years and have always had great success if I have followed directions and have not mixed ash with gold--I think that is the key for all blonde shades! I only wish I could perfect my own highlights and then I wouldn't need a professional hairdresser any longer. If you just stick with the one color that works best for you and stay consistent, don't give in to fads or trends, try to be as natural as possible, those are ..." Read review

strange colour

"after making a foray into the permanent colouring world, i came across this product. we all know the glossy advertising. and if it's good enough for andie. well, it wasn't good enough for me. natural dark brown so the blurb said. am not sure where it was tested but i was now sporting pinky-grey locks. i can honestly say that i've never seen such a strange colour. aarrgh. maybe it was me? tried leaving it for a couple of days to perhaps get used to ..."
