Finally, a brown that shows up!

AdvantagesAffordable DIY-kit that delivers a brown which really shows up on naturally dark hair, available in a wide range of colours from blondes/browns/reds to purples

DisadvantagesFormula is quite strong - contains some bleach, ammonia smell is strong, not suitable for already dry, weakened hair, quite runny hence can be messy

"...aisle in Tesco's and saw L'Oreal Feria had a new product : L'Oreal Feria Colour Booster, which comes in a variety of colours. On the pack, L'Oreal claims that this product will make colour show up even on the darkest natural hair shade. I remembered how I used to pay my stylist around £80 just to have my hair colour stripped with bleach, then dyed to a lighter colour with colour toners. Then I saw the price of this new Feria Colour Booster hair dye ..." Read review

Short lived red passion.....

AdvantagesVery bright, noticeable colour

DisadvantagesLasted about 1 week

"...thats the case, I'm sorry L'Oreal for being a heathen, but I bought it already, you don't need to impress me now, so just give me something I can shove on, I'm not bright enough to muddle up and mix like this! I left it on for the required time, dripped a few drops everywhere which have now stained Shaun's jeans (sorry Shaunie) and generally monged around until towel removal time came. IMMEDIATE RESULTS ----------------- This was the really ..." Read review

For Scarlet Ladies and Spicy Gents

AdvantagesVibrant Colour, Easy Application

DisadvantagesFades quickly

"In the pursuit of vibrant red/brown hair I by now must have surely tried all the brands on the market that offer such a shade (unfortunately not many...). The problem I seem to find with red dyes is that they don't hold very long; having spoken to a colour specialist at the Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy I have found out that this is an unfortunate problem you basically just have to live with for this colour as the dye molecules don't cling as well ..." Hair Colouring - a Sintch

AdvantagesIt keeps me looking STUNNING

DisadvantagesIt dose not stop my grey growing back

"...burnt oranges, and find that L'Oreal has these colours to offer and does a good job in hiding the grey. L'OREAL FÉRIA COLOR BOOSTER in the usual box size and shape and has inside, an instruction leaflet, always useful for the first time user, even after having coloured my hair for decades I still refer to it, checking the time to leave the application on, whether I need to wet my hair first. I don't perform the skin test (I can't remember ever ..." Read review

Your mother wouldn't like it.

AdvantagesLasts for about a week

DisadvantagesLasts for about a week

"...mate and that's bottled!" I bought L'Oreal Paris Feria Color (Colour) Booster from my old faithful Wilkinsons - it was £3.99 and the shade I choose was P75 (no, not redundancy) but Pure Copper Power (sounds a bit Geri). It's technology but not as we know it; "Multi-faceted 3D color" - my hair is not drawn on so I presume the 3D is my input. "Powerful" - hum, for dying the bathroom and surrounding tiles I give a powerful 9.9. "Long-lasting" ..." Read review

good, but messy

Advantagesthe colour, the gloves

Disadvantagesthe price (£6-7) and the texture of the hair dye

"Let it not be me to dare make disparaging remarks about the company that tells us we are all worth it, but worth what exactly...? If the price of beauty comes at staining damn near everything surrounding me a fairly attractive shade of red, then im not sure it is such a bargain. Loreal has been a great provider of hair dye for me for a couple of years, even my hairdresser reccomended it for home use. I tried most of the range, except the Feria ..." Read review

Gagging for a new hair colour?

AdvantagesBrilliant immediate colours and shades

Disadvantagesextremely strong and vile chemical smell

"I have been dying my hair different colours and shades since I was 14, and have never had any problems with hair dyes or colourants. After my blonde streaks from a previous hair adventure had been hacked out by a talented hairdresser, I decided to go for something different for the summer, a nice bright shade of purple. Strolling in the health and beauty section of Boots, I come to the Hair colourant section and browse the shelves until i see a ..." Read review

It will make your eyes water but hey Im worth it

AdvantagesGreat Colour and red shades

DisadvantagesExtremely strong smell

"My friend Amy said that she needed to colour her hair so off we went to the good ol' shop savers. In we went an stood looking at a cliff face of hair colour. My friend after much deliberation chose Feria Colour Booster in shade P46 PURE RUBY POWER. This is a intense deep red colour and is not your normal bright pillarbox red. There are many different shades and recently I have been noticing three for four new shades that are hitting the ..." Read review

What's my natural colour again?

AdvantagesGreat colour selection, Easy to use.

DisadvantagesPicking a shade can be hard.

"...said, I've generally stuck to L'Oreal for my hair dying needs as the shades are always close to perfect for the shade I'm looking for at the time. When I spotted the new 'Colour Booster' I was intrigued to say the least. After checking the wide range of shades and colours available I made my choice of 'Pure Purple Passion' or something along those lines. And off I went to try it out. The first thing I noticed was the very easy to read instructions, ..." Read review

cos im worth it

AdvantagesGreat colours

Disadvantagesvery messy

"In August I went to visit my family who live in Plymouth. After going clubbing we came home and drank some more. After half a bottle of whiskey I decided that it was about time I drastically changed my image. My cousin being a hairdresser volunteered to cut my hair.At the time I had long blonde hair, and wasnt sure about getting it chopped, especially as my cousin had drunk copious amounts of alchohol. After much persuasion I gave in and thought 'what ..." New hair in 30 mins!

AdvantagesColour is as it shows

DisadvantagesBit expensive

"I was always told that dying your hair was bad for you, that it would mean that your hair would be ruined. Well three dyes later my hair hasn't fallen out and I love the range of colours. In fact I used this product night before last and am really happy with my new hair colour. I find that although the colour fades slightly it still lasts about 3 months, but since I've started using the product my hair has improved in condition. It's thicker, ..." Read review

Now you see it...now you dont...

AdvantagesOriginal Shade was good

DisadvantagesFades very quickly

"As a natural blonde I was very excited if not a little nervous about changing my hair colour to a lovely bright red. It took me a long time to select a product, as very few brands actually had the red I wanted, eventually I settled on Feria Colour Booster shade P76 (spice), It was priced at £5.95 which is pretty average for permanent hair colours. The packaging showed a picture of a girl with bright red hair and promised vibrant colour and a long ..." Read review

Dull red head seeks boost

Advantagesbigger bottle which is good for longer hair

Disadvantagesnot as bright as you would expect

"...ex hairdresser who swore by L'oreal products....i was somewhat disappointed by this product. I have had so many shades of red over the years...mostly by made by L'oreal. One reason I stick with them now because i know thier numbering system, and so if i buy 6.66....i know that I get a base six(depth) with red as the primary and secondary colour( as 6 means red), and so will be as red as you can get. The colour booster also gives you some extra red ..." Read review

Bittersweet Chocolate

AdvantagesIntense and long lasting

DisadvantagesStrong smelling, drying

"This colour is a very dark brown - almost black, but not as harsh and unforgiving in colour. It is a glossy cocoa brown. Having used various colours in this range, the colour is equally as intense each time and is vibrant for about 6 weeks. The smell is strong, but so is the dye so it's a bit of a compromise and certainly not unbearable - it is no secret that hair dyes do not always have a pleasant smell and an attempt has been made to mask the strong ..."
