Advantages: It eventually works, almost, if you have an eyelash comb Disadvantages: thick, clumpy, awful, feels like a cheapie mascara
...couple of weeks ago about L'Oreal Lash Architect saying how great it was, so I thought Id give it a go…..
I bought the mascara in "Midnight Black" colour from Boots for £8.99. The tube is very sleek and appealing, black with silver writing. It claims on the tube that is "False Lash Effect Mascara".
== The Claim ==
The L'Oreal website states the following about the brush - "The exclusive brush gives extreme volume, curve and length to your lashes. ... ...and virtually no clumps."
== The Reality ==
Firstly, before unscrewing the lid on this mascara I had really high hopes. However, the brush is covered with bristles which are in turn appear to be overloaded with the product. The brush is straight with no curves etc (unlike the product picture above) which are popular with a lot of mascaras on the market and it was hard to see how this would get more volume length, curve etc as it states. As I put ...

Advantages: You get great defined, curly lashes Disadvantages: It isn’t waterproof
I found this product out from an advert on the TV and thought to myself wouldn’t it be great if it produces the effects as stated. So I went out and brought some.
L’Oreal has always been what I would describe as a good, reliable brand. When looking in the shop I found the mascara as easy as anything. It didn’t come in a box but the mascara was attached to a flat piece of white card which had attached to it a clear plastic cover containing the actual ... ...itself is in a silver matt finished 8ml container and on the lid at the very top is a non-metallic shiny silver end. It looks quite classy simply from the way it is shaped and it isn’t circular in shape around the edges. The main body has 4 sides and the lid has 3. When stood against the light as the lid tip is shiny it helps catch the light and looks quite nice. It feels nice to hold and you can grip it well – this is the advantage of having the ...

Advantages: Great effect, lasts for a long time Disadvantages: Packaging is messy, melts, THE LID
Ok.. I'm a sucker for mascaras, along with blusher, lipsticks and pretty much anything makeup related. I saw this new mascara and was attracted by the model on the poster who so blatently was wearing false eyelashes but still made me go "ooh buying that. now." The packaging is a nice silver colour and it's a angular tube, more attractive than the competitor's packaging but not too practical which you'll read about later. I think I paid £8.99 for ... ...it's mascara" this moto also applies to most other things in my life, but mainly makeup. Crazy I know. So, I buy the thing and get it home. After ripping it open and trying to unscrew the lid for about ten minutes I pulled out a very long brush, the brush itself is just the right size and wasn't any special shape; just brush shaped. Now for the test; I applied it slowely right to the tips of my lashes and it looks fabulous; my lashes were really ...

Advantages: Great, full lashes Disadvantages: It doesn't exactly lengthen lashes much.
I've always been into my sixties/retro stuff, and adore the look of fake eye lashes. They can make anyone look instantly beautiful! However fake lashes are obviously not very practical, especially with my habit of drunkenly crawling into bed without taking my makeup off.
So, with my fake eyelash obsession, I am instantly drawn in by this new gimick - mascaras that claim to give you a fake eyelash look without actually wearing fake eyelashes. Having ... ...to buy this lash architect one from loreal for the reasonable price of £8.99.
Unlike the Bourjois one, where you have to put the white undercoat on first and then the colour, this is applied just like a normal mascara, with a lot less fuss. The classy, silver packaging looks like a normal, expensive looking mascara, and you apply it like a normal one too. I found it quite nice to apply - It went on very smoothly, and I felt it was of good quality.

I have the most unglamorous eyelashes they are just short and stick out straight. I hate using eyelash curlers mainly because I can’t be bothered! I'm always on the lookout for mascaras that claim to lengthen, curl and thicken lashes. I normally use Avon beyond colour lash fortifying mascara but had run out of this and I can’t live without mascara. I went into boots (yep here I am again!) and decided to look for a mascara that would actually work. ... ...this was very helpful because there was a chart with all their mascaras listed and exactly what they do. I was drawn to lash architect because it claims to give a false lash effect. There was also a picture of a woman with the most amazing never ending eyelashes, but I think she had the help of something more than just mascara!
So what does this mascara claim to do?
It is enriched with 3D polymers, which is an exclusive formula that wraps around ...

Advantages: Could look good, if you are patient Disadvantages: Pricey, blobby
This is a new product- you've probably seen the adverts on tv with Mila Jovovich sporting some unbelievably (literally- clearly they are computerised!) long eyelashes.
I saw this product on offer in Superdrug for about £5.49 instead of £6.99. As I needed a new mascara, I thought I's give it a a try.
The packaging is kinda cool. Its a weird shaped silver contraption. However, it is rather bulky- I prefer smaller ones as they take up less room.
... ...at the large size of the brush. I find that mascaras with smaller brushes tend to work better, and this brush was definitely bigger that average, making it look quite cheap.
The mascara is quite blobbly, meaning that it is difficult to apply smoothly. The large brush means that is relatively quick to get good coverage, but can be quite awkward, especially for reaching smaller lashes.
The product claims to create the ultimate false lash effect, ...

Advantages: Fantastic for sensitive eyes Disadvantages: Pricey and can be difficult to apply
As someone with extremely sensitive eyes (the sort that stream like a tap when I apply makeup) I have got to say that lash architect is fantastic.
I wear mascara every day-having pure white eyelashes means I have to or risk looking like I have no lashes at all. But I also have the most sensitive eyes in the world. The ad for Lash Architect is very persuasive and I thought I'd give it a go as I'm always on the lookout for a good mascara.
At £6.99 ... ...it's well worth it. The first time I tried it I was disappointed. It clumped on my lashes and looked awful. When I tried to touch it up all I succeeded in doing was making it look like my 5 year old had applied it.
But I tried again, mainly because I had not reacted to it (I tend to react straight away) and because it had cost me the best part of 7 quid and there was no way I was going to waste that!
So I tried again but this time adopted the philosophy ...

Advantages: Gives thick, long eyelashes at the flick of a wrist Disadvantages: Can be hard to remove
Mascara, the only piece of make-up I honestly couldn’t live without! As someone with naturally dark eyelashes, the things I look for in mascara are a product that will lengthen and plump up my lashes. So, I was browsing the make-up racks in Boots one afternoon when I came across this (then) new and attractively packaged product. It was £7.99, which (being a cheapskate) is usually far more than I would spend on mascara but I splashed out because I ... ...Almost five months later, I am still as pleased with this product as I was the day I bought it. It has lasted remarkably long, as I use it almost every day and makes my lashes look quite a few millimetres longer an definitely much thicker than they are naturally. It doesn’t quite do what it says on the label – my eyelashes certainly don’t look ‘false’, but in my opinion, that doesn’t detract from the result one bit, as they never look OTT. I can ...

Advantages: lasts well Disadvantages: its damn hard to get off
Well like so many lacking in the lashes department, I too got taken in by a flashy tart on TV, with lashes to die for. .So off I go to my nearest boots chemist and had a nosey.
I saw the price and nearly had a heart attack! Nearly Ten Quid for some eye glop!! I'm afraid I'm normally the kind of gal that splashes out £2.99 on Superdrugs’ colour 2000(which is actually quite good I might add).
Anyway I go back home empty handed complaining to ... ...try it anyway as I don’t spend much on make-up normally and it would be a nice treat.
The following week I go armed with my tenner and pick myself one up. I got home and went straight upstairs to try it. Well it went on easy enough, the brush taking a little while to get used to, but I managed fine. But false lash effect it definitely was NOT. After doing a couple of layers I just couldn’t get any more to go on without it looking like ...

Advantages: Great mascara and price not too steep and the list goes on!! Disadvantages: None!
Well, this mascara is absolutely brilliant. I was looking for a good mascara to add to my make up bag and as my birthday was coming around I thought it would be a prefect gift idea to give my mum. I'd seen the adverts and thought i'd give it a go. The packaging really appealed to me, it comes in a very modern looking silver tube, very nice!!
Turns out that I was perfectly matched with this mascara. It manages to curl my lashes, so there is no need ... ...say. It comes in a couple of different colours including black and brown. Personally I went for the black as I found that suits me the most. It is NOT clumpy and I find that there is no need for an eye lash brush, as the lashes dont tend to stick together. It lasts me a long time. I got my first tube last october (the 8th to be precise) and only today I have gone out and brought myself a new one!! Yes thats a whole 9 months more or less!! And take ...

Advantages: longer lashes, doesn't smudge Disadvantages: it's not waterproof, difficult to apply
I got this mascara as a free gift when I subscribed to a magazine. I'm quite glad it was free because I'd be annoyed I spent so much money on having my lashes clog and clum up.
I used it twice, put it at the back of the pot and went back to using my old mascara within two days. It did make my lashes longer and it didn't smudge, but I only had three lashes on each eye with it. They all clumed together and looked a mess. A month or so later, I was talking to a girlfriend about make-up, as girls tend to do. She said she really liked the Lash Architect. I couldn't believe my ears and explained the probalems I'd had with it. She agreed and said that she'd had some problems with it as well. But she'd also discovered a way to make it work.
She having paid full price for it wanted to make the most of it. She told me that if you used a tissue ...

Advantages: glam long lashes Disadvantages: you have to take it off at some point
I treated myself to a new mascara today, its called 'Lash Architect', by Loreal. I was really impressed with it, although I have to say I do tend to stick to loreal products.
Its quite different to otherbrands, as the brush is spiral shaped and patented. This is what helps the mascara do what it says its supposed to do on the packet!
This mascara is for women who love long fluttery lashes. The brush gives a false lash effect, making the lashes ... ...and curve. The mascara covers every lash individualy, ensuring that there are no clumps.
Taking it off is easy, just use your normal cleanser, and you will be de-fluttered in a flash! The mascara iI used was not the waterproof version although you can get it.Also you can choose between black or blue, i used the black.
Stylish for any make-up bag it comes in a slinky silver tube! Looks quite expensive,I think, although its very well priced, on offer ...

Advantages: Lovely thick lashes and mascara dosn't run at all! Disadvantages: I can't think of any
I have always been sceptical of trying cheap mascaras, having had some very bad experiences with some many years ago, but my budget dictated that cheap was the only way to go a month ago.
The packaging is very smart, and the mascara itself is not watery and thin like a lot of cheap ones. The brush is just a standard mascara brush (the best in my opinion).
Application is easy and i found that i only need one coat, and my lashes are thick, if possibly ... ...they say it's waterproof, they mean it. I have tried many mascaras that claim to be waterproof that are three times the price of this one that i have found give me panda eyes before the day is out, but this one is excellent. It dosn't budge at all until you actively try to take it off.
In summary, a bargin mascara with no drawbacks at all!! ...

Advantages: does enhance lashs Disadvantages: expensive and can be extremely blobby
I bought this product after seeing the advert on tv which I found very convincing as it promised a 'false lash effect.
I was quite impressed at first as it did make my lashes appear and lot bigger and darker and compared to the mascara i normally use the lashes were more defined and noticiable.
However I found this product quite expensive for what it was as there isn't actually that much mascara in the tube and it didnt really fufill all the promises ... ...it was really really globby! It definately made my lashes darker and longer but it made a lot of them glob/join together and they were difficult to seperate!
It is also quite difficult to remove after use and after removing all of it the night before I would often wake up with it still under my eyes!
Having said this, it does dramatize your lashes and make them more noticiable and would be good to wear on a night out, but I wouldnt really recommend ...

Advantages: Quick-One coat is enough Disadvantages: Clumpy, unnatural, feathery, irritating
Yet another 'false eyelash effect' mascara. The first one I tried was Bourgois' 'coup de theatre' which comes in two parts, the 'fibrous, build up' part and then the black coating. As with Borgeois' this Loreal mascara is very fibrous which means it a) clumps b) breaks off into little feathery pieces easily c) irritates sensitive eyes. Personally I found this a messy mascara to use and the look very 'over done'. As a good alternative I would always ... ...mascara. Each of these fatten and lengthen lashes without clumping up...you can even vary the effect with a couple of coats without looking like a tarantula face!!! Lash architect does come in a nice package and the brush is nice....if you wipe a lot of the excess off the brush and build up in thinner layers its pretty good, but you need to comb and seperate in between which is time consuming. Personally I find the small particles break off and drop ...
