Advantages: Great Value for Money , Looks Good! Disadvantages: None!
It's only recently that I have really got into make up! Before I would wear a little foundation and mascara , and was quite willing to leave the house without at make up at all! However , now is a different story ; I don't think I could go anywhere without my make up these days , even if it's still only foundation , mascara and eyeliner that I wear , although I do make more of an effort now than I did before. Before , I just used to slap foundation ... ..., and that was me done. But now , I like to spend at least thirty minutes doing my foundation propely , applying my mascara , etc.
I remember going on holiday to Bournemouth three years ago and finding a MAC store. I remember reading celebrity magazines and reading about which beauty products the celebs used and there would always be mention of a MAC product in there. I decided to go into the shop and enquire about the foundation. They give me a ...

Advantages: fantastic coverage Disadvantages: needs a little bit of touching up when it rains!
I have always been looking for a foundation that gives you a flawless finish or as some might say the air brushed look!! They claim that the foundation matches perfectly to the colour and texture of your skin for a flawless look.. Fantastic just what I and every other women has been looking for but does it do what is says on the tin?? And for under £10 (£9.78 in fact) it seems even better!
The packaging
The packaging is very simple and straight ... ...makeup on as the last thing you need is fiddly or complex applicators that you need a degree to use or even get into! it’s a simple toughened glass bottle with a push down nozzle and lid, now I say that the glass bottle is tough as I have dropped mine a few times and it has not broken however I expect that if you were to throw it against a brick wall then it would.
Best way to choose your shade
Most people put the foundation on the back of their ...

Advantages: Great coverage, works well as a concealer, good range of shades, lasts a long time. Disadvantages: Heavy container, quite a dense foundation so be careful!
L'Oreal is one of those huge global companies that seem to be everywhere at the moment and they're pretty hard to miss what with the numerous TV adverts for the latest hair colour, lip gloss or eyeshadow. L'Oreal have been in the cosmetics industry now for 75 years - quite a long time, and currently own 19 global brands, which include L'Oreal Paris, Maybelline New York and Garnier. They pride themselves on 'enhancing our brand portfolio with innovative ... ...from http://www.loreal.co.uk).
Now normally, L'Oreal products have always been just that little bit more than I would be happy to spend... that was until I gave in after seeing for the hundredth time, their TV advert for True Match Foundation and deciding to follow their instructions for a free sample from their website. This product is part of the L'Oreal Paris line of cosmetics and its claims are 'Adjusts to the colour and texture of the skin.' ...

Advantages: Lets skin breathe, has SPF 15, doesn't turn skin orange or leave tidemarks Disadvantages: Quite pricey and doesn't last extremely long (up to 6 hours, not any longer though)
I'm not what I would call a foundation wearer. I've always been wary of the fact that foundation is bad for the skin...& in my experiance it has always looked caked on my skin anyway. However, I was growing a bit tired of my usual tinted moisturiser & thought I'd get myself a good foundation to wear on special occasions. I'd been flicking through a magazine and saw an advert of the gorgeous Eva Longoria modelling 'True Match' foundation. When I finally got to the Loreal makeup section I instantly spotted this foundation...& the price tag beneath it. This foundation is priced at £8.99 - I find this typically expensive for make-up so I had high expectations for this foundation. After reluctantly heading towards the checkout ...

Advantages: easy blending, a little goes a long way, does not cake Disadvantages: poorer result over primer than my previous foundation
...My eye was drawn to L'Oreal True Match foundation, partly because of the special offer but also because it claims to be super blendable and 'adjusts to the colour and texture of the skin'. There was a wide range of colours so I tested away to find the best match. Shade N5 in sand (although I prefer sable!) looked great so I took it along with me.
True Match is currently on offer at Boots at £5.99 for a 30ml bottle, a £2 reduction from the normal ... ...glass bottle with a pump action dispenser. The clear lid is sealed on purchase so you can be sure that you have a fresh and hygienic bottle. It claims to offer a true match for your skin, to provide even cover without caking and tide marks and to be super blendable. I'm quite lucky with my skin. It is fairly normal with a few lines around the eyes but no real tendency to oiliness, dryness or spots and pimples. It is a little uneven in texture and ...

Advantages: Excellent coverage, and it doesnt seem to rub off! Disadvantages: None as yet
Why do I love this ?
I only bought this product recently, as I was looking for a new foundation to better cover the imperfections in my skin. If you are like me, you may have old scars from teenage years or inperfections in your skin tone which often find very difficult to cover with foundation unless I use 2 or sometimes 3 different tones to ensure that my face doesnt just look one colour. In addition to all that I have very sensitive skin which ... ...avoid unneccessary allergic reactions if possible!
This foundation is a very light liquid that seems to glide on to the skin and be absorbed (unlike some foundations which are like coating your skin in matt paint) really easily. I used it on top of a layer of plain vitamin E moisturiser, and it the finish was brilliant, even for an amateur like me. There were no tide marks and it really does seem to adapt to the individual tones in your skin. It ...

Advantages: Wide choice of shades, looks natural Disadvantages: Doesn't last long, doesn't give much of a matte feel
What drew me into the L'oreal True Match foundation was the fact that there is a wide variety of shades available to suit everyone's skintone which is great for me because I'm Asian and always find it difficult to get the right shade of foundation without it looking too orange or too dark. In the shop, I tried a few different foundations on the back of my hand and found that this one matched better and looked more natural so I decided to purchase ... ...and hides perfections well, then L'Oreal paris True Match is definetly worth a try.
One really annoying thing about the foundation was that it dried out my face and made the skin on my cheeks, around the eyes and nouse all flaky - it even did that on my fingers! But if I apply mousturiser (which you should do anyway) before, it's perfectly fine.
I'm about halfway through my bottle now and once I finish it, I would definetly be looking for another ...

...and very fair. The L'Oreal True Match foundations come in 3 skin tone types cool, neutral and warm, so when selecting your shade you will note that the shade number is preceeded by either a C, N or W, obviously you pick the shade nearest your skin shade with the correct tone too. Mine is C1, a pale shade of ivory.
The product comes in a pump dispenser glass bottle, it looks nice on your dresing table and the pump makes it hygienic to use. I find ... ...I like to apply my foundation with my fingers as I find the warmth helps it blend in. This foundation is quite runny in my opinion but not too much so as some! I start by dotting the foundation on my cheeks, nose, chin and forehead and the remainder on my jawline, then i pat & blend til I am happy. When I am all blended I rub my hand together to warm them and place them over my face - I find this helps finish the process.
The one downside of this ...

...into boots to buy a l'oreal lipstick and i stumbled across this lil' beauty. It's meant to adjust to your skin tone (perfect for me!), does not cake, perfect colour without tide marks. It had no SPF, which didn't really bother me as my moisturiser has SPF in it.
It cost me £8.99. But thought i'd give it a shot as it is very time consuming to use two foundations every time. So i left boots in hope that i found the best foundation EVER.
It came in ... ...was enough for my whole face. After cleansing and moisturising, i applied the foundation with my fingers (as it was a light foundation), only needed a little amount of the foundation to cover my whole face. The coverage was brilliant, and it adapted to my skin tone perfectly. A little goes a long way so it will last for quite a long time. It is a nice, light foundation. Advantages: Easily blendable and invisible coverage Disadvantages: Dry skin needs moisturiser before application
I use foundation daily and because I am pale always find it difficult finding the right tone for my skin - this foundation glides on and using just a small amount gives excellent coverage yet seems to disappear, not lay on the surface and act like a mask. With other foundations I have found it difficult being able to build up coverage with layers, where needed, without it caking but this product doesn't cake or go bitty. I always apply loose powder ... ...foundation's too heavy, but this product looks entirely natural and does not streak - people don't believe I am wearing foundation - and it does last quite a few hours.
As my skin is dry I always moisturise first and find the foundation applys far better with slightly moist skin and when I've tried it on bare unmoisturised skin it did not glide on very well - but I guess it depends on what your skin is like as to what is best for you. What I would ...

...as natural as possible, and L'Oreal true match caught my eye.
The packaging is quite good although nothing special. It is a little bottle with a pump that says the "L'Oreal paris" logo, "True Match" and also a short description of the product. When I put some foundation onto my finger, I apply it onto my face and it feels smooth. I blend it in easily, and my skin immediatly looks lovely and even with no red patches, yet the foundation isn't so thick ... ...I check in the mirror again and notice that some of the foundation has actually come off. So I have to reapply every 3 hours, which isn't great, although I don't really mind. I got the foundation half price, but Superdrug have put the price up again and it's around Ten Pounds for 50ml, which is quite a lot, although 50ml does last a long time. Overall, I like this foundation, and would recommend it (: ...

Advantages: light, amazing coverage, pump dispenser, does adjust to the colour of your skin Disadvantages: pricey
Finding the right colour foundation for my skin is a nightmare. I have very, very pale skin and most foundations are far too dark (even in the lightest shade!). I had previously been using Revlon ColourStay but it's a bit too thick and doesn't have a pump, and I had heard good things about this foundation. I went out and bought the closest shade to my skin (C1 Rose Ivory) from Tescos. I have to admit, it is a bit pricey at about £10 a bottle, but ... ...long way. It comes with a pump so you never get too much product out and end up wasting it (like the foundation I was using before) and I find that two pumps gives me enough for my face. It gives great coverage but it's also really light which is nice. It blends really easily, even when it's been on for a few hours, which I have not found with other foundations. It lasts quite a while and doesn't come off unless you want it to. I was a bit skeptible ...

Advantages: Blendable. Suitable for freckles! Disadvantages: Glass bottle
This is a fantastic foundation. It has a lovely light texture and blends perfectly. I personally have quite fair skin so i have the Ivory Rose one from the range, then add a bronzer ontop. This seems to work well, to give me an even natural looking base to my make-up.
Another issue i have with foundation is the fact i have freckles. In no way do i want it to look as though im attempting to cover up my freckles because i like them :) But this is ... ...Very well. It really does match the shade of your skin, where ever it is put. The bottle is heavy, and being glass...smashes (trust me...ive done it!!) Advantages: Matches my pale skin, nice finish, covers all imperfections Disadvantages: Does not last.
I am a make up junkie.
I don't have a fantastic complexion, so i'm always on the look out for the perfect foundation, to this day i have not found it yet this is probably second best out of the ten i have tried.
The coverage is adaptable, if you have a few more imperfections than naturally clear faces you may need two layers, though blending well is very necessary to avoid the mask effect.
Application wise i found one layers with fingers to melt ... ...brush for a perfect foundation effect.
The colour is the only foundation i have found the perfect match with, im very pale so with the majority i look too orange, and it has yellow undertones rather than pink which fits with my skin type.
I chose the second lightest colour in the ivory range - there is a huge choice of colours! It matched wonderfully, i couldn't believe what i looked like after application!
Blending wise, you need moisturiser! ...
