The product in question was L'oreal Plenitude Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gel. This is a new addition to the L'oreal tanning range and claims to have the added benefit of smoothing the skin leaving it 'velvety soft' (which would be very weird when you consider the feel of velvet - if you skin suddenly starts feeling like that, I suggest you consult a doctor!)
Normally this product retails at £9.99 for 150ml, which may seem quite steep, but you ...

Advantages: subtle, even, healthy glow Disadvantages: don't think the bottle will last very long
...tangerine! Eventually I decided on L'Oreal Sublime Bronze self-tanning gel, as I thought of L'Oreal as being quite a trustworthy brand. Also, the Sublime Bronze range had 1/3 off at Boots, so I paid £7.32 for a 150ml bottle instead of £10.99. Another thing that attracted me to this product was the fact that it is suitable for use on face as well as body. Previous tanning lotions I have tried didn't work very well on the face, and it saves having to ...

Shimmerific tan Review ofL'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Gelby
kittykatty31
Advantages: Nice shimmer, easy to apply, no nasty smell Disadvantages: Tricky over heels and feet, bottle doesn't seem to last very long
I'd only ever used St Tropez before and was wary about using a cheaper brand. At £10.99 it isn't the cheapest you could possibly buy but I do think it's really good value for money, especially if you buy in Boots and get advantage card points. The tube didn't last as long as I expected, I've used it on my legs only twice, and all over once and I think it'll probably run out after another all over application. Maybe I'm just a bit addicted to it!
My ...

Advantages: Easy to apply, silky skin, natural gradual tan Disadvantages: Needs 2+ applications, takes ages to dry!
After using Johnson's Holiday Skin with a level of dedication bordering on Obsessive Compulsive, and then having somebody tell me 'God you're even paler than me!', I decided to stop chickening out and try a real fake tanner for the first time in my whole life!
PRICE AND PACKAGING
L'Oreal Sublime Bronze usually costs £10.99, but it was on offer in Boots with 1/3 off. I don't think that this is a bad price - not stupidly expensive like St Tropez, ...

Advantages: Absorbs well, Difficult to get wrong!! use on face also. Disadvantages: smell during development
I really suggest than even amature fake tanners try this product out to add a bit of a glow to winter worn skin.
I'm a typically perfectionist Virgo and as such rather tentative when it comes to tanning products. I can't stand the idea of having just one dodgy patch and i'm so particular that I can't just tan my legs I always HAVE to do my WHOLE body and face because I don't like the idea of having a mismatched look when i'm naked (even if it's ...

Advantages: Quick to dry & absorb, natural colour, relatively easy to apply Disadvantages: smell could be improved, can be a bit patchy
I've naturally pale skin and always feel self conscious of this over the summer months, particularly when it comes to getting my legs out when they've been hidden away over the winter months. Not wanting to go for sun beds after all the health warnings associated with these, I opted for a tan in a bottle.
Wary of looking like the orange celebs we seem to see all the time, I was careful with the shade selected and went for the lightest possible ...

Advantages: No Streaks Disadvantages: Bottle is slippery whilst applying - not very gripable
This has got to be the best self tanning substance I have tried. The fact that it is a gel instead of a lotion or cream, makes it easier to glide over your skin. Anyone can use this self tanner, it is basically idiot proof for all self tanning virgins, but on the other hand it is great for the professional self tanner, who has been applying for years. It gives a slight glistening effect when applied, this makes it easier to tell if you have missed ...

Advantages: Easy to apply, smells good, fast results Disadvantages: Not perticularly 'natural' looking results
Women don’t fully hold the monopoly when it comes to wanting a natural golden tan without having to risk getting skin cancer or premature ageing.
As a pale-skinned man with a summer ball to attend in a few weeks I thought healthy glowing skin would flatter my tuxedo perfectly.
I can only ever remember using a self tanning product many years ago and although it was a cheaper product the results were pretty good. With this in mind I thought that the ...

Advantages: Lovely subtle glow Disadvantages: Clear when applied, maybe a bit too subtle for some
I've got to be honest, I am not usually a fan of tanning. I was learning to live with my milk bottle legs when I saw this on the shelf at 7.99 "Hmm, give it a go.." I told myself.
Well, what a pleasant surprise. Nice and easy to apply, even for the inexperienced (or downright hopeless) fakers like myself. My elbows were surprisingly un-orange, and it didn't smell as rank as others I've used. I even risked using it on my face which turned out fine. ...

No more pasty skin! Review ofL'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Gelby
WeeDee83
Advantages: Natural colour, very moisturising! Disadvantages: Smell when colour develops
I bought Loreal gel after a friend recommended it to me. The problem I have is that I suffer from psoriasis and find that fake tans usually cling to every tiny dry bit of skin even after exfoliating and moisturising. My friend promised me that this was wonderful and left your skin silky smooth so I thought I'd give it a go.
I went along to boots and it was on special offer, fantastic! So it cost me £7.49 rather than £10.99 which it usually is. ...

A true all-over tan Review ofL'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Gelby
AlexW
Advantages: Natural colour, effective on scars, nice smell Disadvantages: Packaging not great, even fair skins require 2 coats
I did an op on another fake tan brand and said that I would follow up with one on a brand that actually tans scars as well...here it is.
L'oreal sublime bronze gel is a light non-oily gel with quite a nice fresh scent (makes a change).
It is suitable for face and body and gives a light glow after one application. I have very pale skin and if I use 2 applications 24 hrs apart I get a lovely bronzed colour. To be honest the first application does ...

Advantages: Instant colour Disadvantages: makes your skin dry
First thing is that this fake tan has an instant colour so if your running late this is perfect for a quick fix! but this isnt just a quick fiz, it is a long lasting lovely colour. doesnt make you go orange and people even thought i had been on holiday!! only problem is that it makes you skin go dry so would reccomend eiether putting moisturiser underneath or moisturising every day. it has a shimmer in it which gives you a nice, healthy glow. the ...

Advantages: Produces dramatic but not orange results. Disadvantages: Isn't really good for use on body
Produces good and quite dramatic results. It's good for first time tanners as it is slightly tinted and this allows people to see where there have applied tan and where they haven't, this helps to ensure even coverage. the smell when you first put it on isnt too bad, although when the tan starts to take effect the "fake tan" smell becomes quite strong. i recomend this product for face tanning but i have found that it doens't work as well on your body ...

Advantages: good colour/ no rubbing off on clothes etc. Disadvantages: may be streaks and sometimes messy
...expensive but then i saw L'Oreal sublime bronze on the shelves and at a price of 9.99 it was incredably cheap! i applied it as soon as i got home. The directions were simple and easy to use resulting in the gel going on smoothly and more or less evenly. The fake tan hardly rubbed off on my sheets, clothes or in the shower. The appearance was slighlty streaky so i recommend that if you're going to use this product that you purchase additional tan corrector ...

Advantages: Non greasy, spreads evenly, no marks, quick tanning Disadvantages: Slight sticky feel, quite pricey.
I got this because of the other opinions on here, and I have to agree that I like it alot!
I am always a bit weary of self-tanning products, initially because they are so pricey, and then I don't want to become 'orange' or have streaky lines!
This gel seams to be the answer for a great self tanning product for me. The gel is a browney-orange colour, and when it goes on you look really shiney which is good to see where you've been before. It ...
