Well it seems from the other reviews, that people aren't really aware of what this product is supposed to do. If you go from dark to light, there is going to be a mid-way colour which this hairdye can bring out. But the purpose of this product is to remove alot of your old (darker) colour. ...remove it i would recomned L'Oreal super blonde prelightener , but on the instructions it says to apply it to the roots first, i wouldnt advise doing this because your natural colour will lift alot quicker than where your hair has been colourd. I did this the other way round, so i put it on the ends first and then the roots last. In total i had the product on for about 40 mins. I recently experienced a very severe hair disater! I dyed my short brown hair purple which turned out very wrong and look awful. So after some thought i decided to remove the colour so that i could put a natural looking blonde hair dye on top. I used 3 of these pre-lightners which eventually stripped the hideous purple out my hair. I would recommend this product as it was very effective at removing the hair dye without causing to much damage. ...

I used this product to lighten my "years of dyed dark brown" hair. I followed the instructions and used 2 sachets of the bleach, as it develped I watched the colour going from dark brown to a bright orange. Even though I was panicing, I left the product on for one hour in total, the maximum time allowed. When I washed it off it was a little dry but there was no noticable hair loss during rinsing. I have naturally dark blonde hair, but decided to colour with 5.5 Loreal excellence colour. After about 2 years I decided to go natural again.Then I used once Garnier pre lightener - that was awful :(( So I coloured my orange hair brown. again... I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH I TRUELY HATED THIS PRODUCT I DID EVERYTHING I WAS SUPPOSED TO AND HAVING DARK HAIR I LEFT IT ON FOR THE MAXI ALLOWED TIME!
