Please, please, take note of this….. LAPTOPS DIRECT are the most useless company that you will ever come across! My storey, in brief – Having made some comprehensive research, we decided to order a laptop through these clowns. The delivery was confirmed and they never turned up. Having spoken to endless recordings only & sending e-messages galore, the next day was arranged…. You guessed it, they didn’t turn up again! I placed an order on Monday, 3 October for a Lenovo Z370 laptop and paid the additional £9.99 to have to delivered the next day, however, it didn't turn up until 4pm Wednesday. Upon removing the wrap I found the box said Toshiba on it which clearly wasn't the brand I ordered. Called customer service and the lady didn't seem to care a whole lot, sent me an email with an RMA form I needed to fill out and 'within 24 hours' someone is supposed to contact me with return instructions. I'm sure i dont need to bore everyone with yet another tale of woeful customer service from these guys but hey! I purchased a Dell Studio 17 from these guys (to cut a long story short) when it arrived the screen was smashed im assuming from delivery, I contacted there customer service to report this and they told me i would have to claim on my own insurance as "it is out of there hands, and we a far too bigger company to get involved in such a trivial case" WELL EXCUSE ME!!!!!!! anyway suffice to say a letter from my solicitor sorted this out and i had a refund immediatly!! I bought a netbook from Laptops Direct in September 2010 and never received it. The company were completely uninterested in helping at all. Furthermore, on investigation here in Malta, it would appear that this company has a track record here. Their terms and conditions state that they are not responsible once the product leaves the UK. This should start the alarm bells ringing. Unfortunately, as I have never had a problem with internet shopping in the past, I assumed there would be no problem, especially bearing in mind their high delivery price. Great product really impressed with the performance and value. Guys in the shop gave sound advice and were friendly and understanding. First class service. I aprticulary impressed with the mememory and also the graphics for sucha smal price - this machine offers good features. It also came with a free carrying case. Battery life is much better than on my old machine and last approximately 7 hours.Only thing is the mouse is a bit tricky to use but this is the same with all laptops. They failed to repair a faulty netbook (it crashed when running for long periods - ie fault was intermittent). They ignored all my messages detailing the fault and just returned the product to me with no dialogue. Then I made numerous requests for them to contact me about this, they promised day after day that someone called "chris" was going to call me "soon", he never did. I the end I returned it to them twice, the second time with a detailed printout of the fault and even screenshots of the blue screen errors.
