- unusually narrow stairway and hall, a visting Mum's portable stairgate simply wouldn't fit
- I liked the idea of it rolling up and disappearing when not in use... I was overwhelmed at the idea of acquiring yet another huge rigid baby accessory!

"We recently wanted a gate to keep my daughter in her bedroom. The door frame is relatively narrow (about 70cm) and a lot of the stair gates were too narrow. Instead we bought a Kiddyguard. This is expensive (£50) but safe and versatile. Its like a vertical roller blind that you pull across the door. When its rolled up it doesn't obstruct the doorway. To unlatch it, you push a slider which is easy for an adult but much harder for a child. We bought ..."
