Disadvantages: Cheaper version is painful and you do worry beforehand

...option is more which is LASIK they remove the flap of your eye and laser it then replace the flap so therefore heals instantly and pain free but does have slightly more complications than the painfull one, i.e. infections. Laser Eye Surgery - Optimax Bristol Well, I booked my laser eye surgery for 6th May 2006 at optimax bristol. Advantages: Painless, quick recovery - superb vision!
Disadvantages: Bit pricey, but worth it

...when I had Intralase Wavefront Lasik at Optimax in Leeds. I think I chose the most expensive option (£3,000 total) just to have everything done by laser (less chance of infection and complications). There were 2 parts to the process - the first laser cut the 'flaps' (about 30 seconds per eye - no pain) and the second laser did the vision correction (again - about 30 seconds per eye - no pain). ...crux of my advice on lasik - you cannot read too much before you have it done. I had lasik treatment at Boots in Regent Street 5 months ago. Boot's charge £1250 per eye. This is amongst the more expensive. BUT - you have to look at what you get - Boots have a huge brand name to protect and do so by using the very latest radar tracking laser tehcnology, have a very pleasant pressure free process where you call the shots / speeds / level of detail ... ...corneas were too thin for lasik but i could have Epi-Lasek. however my corneas hadnt demoulded enough for a proper examination so had to wait another 3 weeks to see if i could have epi-lasek. the lady i saw wasnt very helpful and i felt she was too bored to give me all i needed so decided to go to Bupa. again was told my corneas were too thin and advised to have lens implants. the consultant i was passed to gave me little information and wanted ... Like most of the population I wear glasses. Thankfully I only need them on occasions such as reading something from a distance or driving at night.
