My eighteen-month daughter loved Christmas this year. Not just because for the first time she was becoming aware of the food, the fairy lights, and the fact that those brightly wrapped parcels under the tree were things for her. Her favourite present this year was Leapfrogs Baby Tad, another interactive educational gem from a company that specialises in these kinds of toys.
Baby tad is a cuddly green frog in a banana yellow romper suit with a wide ... ...his tummy, cheeks, arms and legs. It's just the right size for my daughter to be able to pick him up, hug him, and carry him around, and he costs around 19.99 from most decent toyshops.
This toy is recommended for children over six months, but is definitely just right for children of around a year upwards when they start to become more attuned to their environment and to learn more.
Before you can start to use this adorable little fella, you need ...

Advantages: Can be your childs best friend Disadvantages: you do get fed up hearing it.....
We bought our daughter Baby Tad from leap Frog when she was just 6 months now she has only just turned 3 and Tad is still in bed with her as her best friend.I cant remember how much we payed for him then but I do know that you can get this at Woolworthsor ToyRus for around the price of £19.99.
If you havent guessed already Tad is a Baby frog hence the name. This toy has a recommended age of 6 months. And is about the size of a six month old baby ... ...in some countrys. And comes in quite a large box with a handle.
To first use you have to put the batterys into the box located inside the back of Tad. You will need a small screwdriver for there is a tiny screw there so child cant take out the battery when you are not looking like my daughter loves to do.
When you have done this you do have to press the on and off foot on his right foot to activate him . Anytime after that, squeeze one of the hug ...

ok, I know! ITS A FROG.
WHATS IT LOOK LIKE?
Well ! baby tad is a green frog with a yellow body suit on, enourmous eyes and a big wide grin, hes got a chest full of brightly coloured buttons which come in the form of assorted shape, both his hands have buttons, one for day time and one for night time, and on his cheek youl find little lips.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
If u press the button with the lips, it makes a weird kissing noice, and i love you, now ... ...NO. thats not a womens voice(a very annoying one at that). I had expected a childs voice as I thought baby tad was ment to be a baby himself. BACK TO THE POINT!! press the daytime hand to play . On its chest or bib, all the shapes(buttons) sing different lullabies. women sings again. you can also play a little game where a shape will flash and when baby touches it, the women says well done thats the red hart(and bursts into song). then another shape ...

...is another product from the LeapFrog range; he is an adorable soft cuddly toy which is also interactive for baby. He teaches children shapes, colours and songs. He is brightly coloured with flashing lights that stimulate baby and keep them enticed.

When a button lights up with colour baby is encouraged to press it and is rewarded with songs and cute phrases.
The favourite bit of Baby Tad that my daughter loves is when you kiss Baby Tad on the pink lip button on his cheek, Baby Tad kisses back and say "I Love You".
Baby Tad also has a lullaby feature which we found fantastic for our daughter when going to sleep. He can be programmed to play ...

Advantages: Learning fun, good value for money Disadvantages: -
Having just read the review on 'Baby Tad', I thought I'd share my thoughts on the next stage - Little Leap.
Little Leap is for kids aged 2+ and has an interactive tummy covered in the alphabet. Not only does it teach the alphabet but also teaches colours, numbers and manners. All the letters of the alphabet and numbers are different colours with the alphabet on the tummy and the numbers on the fingers. It has a cute little voice and offers game ... ...is where the child has to find a particular coloured letter with the help of clues from Little Leap.
* Learn about manners - Little Leap asks you to remind him if he forgets to say, 'please' when asking you to find particular letters.
*Sing-a-long - Little Leap sings a number song and an alphabet song but stops at a letter or number and asks you to press which one comes next.
*Learn numbers/letters - Little Leap asks you to press a letter or a ...

Advantages: Great learning tool for baby and friend Disadvantages: None that I can think of
We bouth Baby Tad for our son when he was 7months old for Christmas.Baby Tad has a botton on each hand, one plays tunes for the night and the other hand plays nursery rhyme tunes. The night tunes was a great help after bath time to keep his attention while getting him dressed for bed. It is very calm so I also placed it in his cot to help him go to sleep. The buttons on his chest was too hard for him to press until he was 10 months but when he finally ... ...on his little face. It is a great learning tool as it teaches them about shapes. They love to push any button at a certain age so this is great as it is buttons they actually may press and they get a reward as it plays a nursery rhyme. He also learned to clap his hands with the song 'if you happy and you know it, clap your hands'. ...

Advantages: easy to use and fun Disadvantages: American speech
My daughter loves her Baby Tad. It is fun, colourful and educational as it teaches kids shapes, colours and songs. There is a panel on the front which flashes and lights up and when the correct shape is pressed baby tad sings one of six songs. It took a while for my little one to actually touch the shapes, she was more interested in cuddling him and listening to the songs. We taught her to clap her hands to "if your happy and you know it". Baby Tad ... ...How much is that doggy in the window.
There are two modes one daytime and one nightime. the nightime mode plays a lullaby for up to six minutes which helps my little one drop off to sleep. There is also a loveheart on his cheek which makes a kissing sound when touched which is quite sweet.
Baby Tad costs around £20.
The only disappointing thing is that it talks in an American accent and I thought it would talk with a British accent. ...
