...AND PRICE
*****************************
The Leapfrog Learn and Groove is brand new for 2005 and was only available in most of the shops from March.
They retail at around £80 and are available from places like Mothercare and Argos.
I bought mine from Argos online which cost me £85 including postage and packing. This does seem a little steep but one month on I'm already realising it was worth every penny.
REASON FOR PURCHASE

... ...Swing which was only usable until she was six months old so I was looking for some kind of replacement sit in toy to take it's place from this age upwards.
Not a fan of babywalkers (due to the risks associated and the fact that I want to keep my baby away from most things, her moving around this house to me would be a complete nightmare!) my choice was very limited. Then I saw activity centres in the Mothercare catalogue. These are excellent devices ...

My sister in law bought this for my twins for christmas, I thought it was a bit expensive to be buying them but I didnt argue and now I am sooo glad I didnt. My children love this activity station, They go in it at least once everyday and they have so much fun. We got ours from Early learning centre and it cost around £80, which is quite expensive but definately worth every penny, I owe my sister in law big style for buying the babies this.

The station requires three AA bateries to function, I changed the batteries mid-march for the first time, which I think is very good to say it has been used at least twice every day since christmas!
There are three height potions as your child grows, the height is very easy to adjust.
---What it does---
Your child sits in the activity station like sitting ...

Advantages: Keeps baby safe, happy & in one place, portable, wipe clean & washable Disadvantages: It is a large item / toy
We bought the Leap Frog Activity Station as an early Christmas present for our almost 4 month old son quite recently and I have to say it is our most valued item for him the house! The station itself looks a bit like a traditional sit-in baby walker but it's not. It is a stationery activity centre in which the baby sits/stands in the middle and is surrounded by an array of things to play with.
It has five items/toys for your baby to play with:
... ...Record Player
- Microphone
- Song Book
Baby can get at all of these because the seat in the middle rotates 360 degrees.
The station has two modes of play so when you flip the song book over it changes from music to learning. So for example the piano keys either say the numbers and colours when you press them or play a specific type of music such as salsa. The record player works by the baby pulling down the record players arm across the record ...

...first Christmas and found the LeapFrog Learn and Groove DJ Activity station - ideal as both her parents are DJs.
It is a lovely activity station with 5 basic toy elements - record player, number piano, microphone, mirror ball and juke box which I will explain individually shortly. Advantages: Safe and great fun, teaches abc's and 1,2,3's. Disadvantages: Expensive.
My dad bought this for our 7 month old girl's Christmas. She loves it! Unpacking and building***************
The 'donut' as i call it is very easy to set up, just click the three legs into the top part and thats the main bit done. Click all the music sections into their spaces on the top and hook the fabric seat onto the frame. Bingo! All set.
Oh... batteries, three AA is what you will need, they are not supplied which was a bit of a bummer.

What's it do then?******************
First you have a yellow and blue microphone, made of rubber and plastic it's great for babies to have a good chew on. As they tug and pull it either sings 'ba ba doo wha' or 'sing it baby' depending on which setting the 'donut' is on.
Next we have a disco ball which baby ...

Advantages: A fantastically entertaining product for baby that will last Disadvantages: Quite pricey, but worth it all the same
When my son turned 4 months old he started to get very frustrated because he was becoming more aware of the world around him, but wasn't able to participate in the way that he wanted! Advantages: Great for young babies who want to get up and move, stable support Disadvantages: Can be expensive - shop around, Huge toy takes up space
This toy is excellent and we were lucky enough to get it new in a 'sale' for £55. I would suggest parents buy this from as young an age as possible or that they feel comfortable with (around 4 months) as it will entertain baby and stop them getting bored or frustrated with lack of movement. It certainly has a short life span for such an expensive toy because as soon as baby can stand/walk alone it is no good.
It gives 360 degree mobility and has ...

Quick review of LeapFrog Learn & Groove Activity Station
The grand parents bought this for our little boy for Christmas when he was 5 months old. He absolutely loves it. We call it the UFO. It gives my partner time to do jobs as he can't get out of it. The other thing we have notice is that it has helped him to get stronger and his concentration has got better from using this. He would start off only 5-10 minutes in this before he would moan and lean to the side. Now he can stay in it well over half an hour and he supports his head and back better. It is not cheap but worth every penny. ...

We got this after seeing our nephew in a similar thing. Our little boy didn't know what to do with it at first but soon it was the best thing we ever bought for him. He had outgrown his rocker but we had so much conflicting advice on baby walkers that we settled on this. It was pricey for us but totally worth it.
