I happened upon Lee Stafford Poker Straight Dehumidifier completely by accident, a girlfriend of mine left a bottle at my house after my hen night and as she lives in Cardiff she told me i could keep it ! BARGAIN!
I decided to check the product out first though, i know it was free but what exactly was it or what did it do?
The bottle is not very informative, it tells you that it helps keep your hair poker straight when the humid hair wants ... ...use, nope, nothing other than Lee telling us that it is a magical product, i am to spray from half an arms length all over my hair before excercise , clubbing, before bed and before facing the world, "it is an umbrella from frizz....abracadabra"
O.k...but what do i do to my hair first????

...spray wax turned up the Lee Stafford product. I have to admit that I've always been tempted to try his products (mainly due to the funky packaging, shallow I know) but as they are quite pricey, couldn't justify when I could get similar products cheaper.
However, as this was the only spray wax I could find, I thought I'd give it a try. I bought it from the Boots, for £4.49 which I think is the average retail price. It comes in an eyecatching hot ... ...using wax in a spray form was very appealing as I don't have the patience or inclination to stand and fiddle around with a pot of wax every morning.
The can says that the wax is 'amazing on short to long, straight to curly hair.' The instructions on the back are quite limited, but it's basically common sense on how to apply.
The wax is very light, with a slightly fruity scent. It's not unpleasant or over powering, and leaves your hair smelling ...

This was not a make i was familiar with but as all the products in the range were a funky fuscia colour i felt drawn to find out more about this jazzy stuff!!
Glancing along the shelves i could see that you could purchase shampoos, conditioners and the like all for different hair types. The range caters for curly tops, full on big hair, coloured hair or the kind i like best - poker straight.
Righto - the poker straight ... ...background on this brand.
Lee Stafford is actually a male hairdresser! He opened his first salon in Leigh on Sea in 1996 and he went on to win Mens British Hairdresser in 1998.
He has appeared in magazines and on morning TV and then went on to open another salon in Soho - London.
It was in 2001 that he launched his own product range which is exclusive to Boots!! So no snooping around Superdrug for this cos you wont find it!!

...about packaging, but all of Lee Stafford's products look great as they all co-ordinate. Its a funky bottle with an easy to read label and instructions. The shocking pink is great too.
The actual product is a liquid so the bottle is not an aerosol, and the liquid is clear. Don't smell it straight out the bottle, as it won;t be pleasant, but once on your hair, it is quite nice.

...have bought several of the Lee Stafford range of hair styling products in the past month, after walking out of my hairdressers with dry & yellow (supposedly platinum blonde!) hair. I loved them all!
The poker straight treatment is fantastic. I used this as directed inbetween my regular shampoo and conditioner, leaving it on for just 5 minutes and noticed an immediate improvement. It took around a week of treatments for my hair to feel soft and strong ... ...seeing the product on the Lee Stafford website... it sounded exactly the kind of thing I was after. It isn't a treatment, but a very thick and nourishing conditioner, like the kind you would use after applying a colour. Again I was impressed... and hooked... off to Boots again!
The hotshots range also includes a treatment for dry and brittle hair. I was impressed with this treatment, but would recommend using the poker straight treatment instead, ...

It promises the following (taken from the website): Hydrolysed silk extract creates strong hair to fight off breakages or split ends the silk complex builds up moisture levels within the hair shaft, leaving hair tangle free, soft and shining.
I tried this for the first time after hearing recommendations for the Lee Stafford range, and I was looking for something to deep ... ...the pot, it recommends that you apply a "ping pong ball" amount of conditioner to the hair and leave for 5 minutes. I used a bit more conditioner than that and left it on for about 20 minutes, due to the damaged nature of my hair. When I rinsed it off I could immediately feel that my hair was extremely silky, and after blowdrying and straightening, my hair was still a lot softer and easier to control than usual.

Having watched Lee Stafford on the programme 'Celebrity Scissorhands', I felt like because I had personally seen him working, styling and creating gorgeous hairstyles I had more reason to trust a product with his name across it.
The Lee Stafford range is exclusive to Boots and contains a number of styling and haircare products which are available online and instore.
... ...has a top tip from Lee Stafford, on my particular can this happens to be,
'Spray away and sparkle like a crazy diamond. Your hair will shine and smell great for hours and hours, "have fun, look wicked and smell BEAutiful" '
There is a website printed on the packging, 'www.leestafford.co.uk', ingredients and a warning label. The barcode is printed in a funky purple and green, which add to the brilliance of this product.

...Right first of all, the Lee Stafford Poker Straight Flat Iron Protection Spray (to give its full name) is actually very very good. It's probably the fourth brand i've tried and it's definitely one i'll stick with!
Visually appealing in a sleak, not too big, pink coloured bottle it's packaged really well. Definately eye-catching amongst all the hair products.
It has a really nice, quite light fragrence which is sure to cover up other unappealing ... ...before would always be dominated by the disgusting smokey smell, but a few sprays of this product and that would disapear. Great for those 'I cannot be bothered to wash my hair' days!
It's hard to say how well the actual product works in protecting your hair, as my overly straightened hair is pretty damaged especially at the ends. But after using this I have noticed an extra gloss to my hair, and the poker straight claims actually seem to work (so ...

...Thats when I came across Lee Stafford range. My 1st purchase was the flat iron spray. The smell does kind of hit you in the face a bit - as in it is seriously sweet smelling and 1st thing in the morning when your doing your hair it can be a bit much, though you do get used to it.
Ok so the science bit.....
the secreat is green tea (I'm begining to think green tea can do anything!). Apparently the anti-oxidents in green tea form a heat barrier on ... ...straighten. The anti0oxidents also help prevent static caused by the electrical appliences - therefore less frizz.
It is recommended (well by my hairdresser) the spray a small amount from arms length onto towel dried hair and then dry as normal. When your straightening section the hair and spray at arms length just before straightening.
Now my advice....
Spray either when towel dried or when straightening, I find that doing both can cause my hair ...

...the bright pink containers of Lee Stafford hair products. The product i'm reviewing is the Poker Straight Flat Iron Spray.
With the increasing use of hair straighteners, it is important to use a good protection spray in order to avoid drying out and breaking your hair.
Before using straighteners, use a couple of even sprays of this on each section of hair.
My hair is shinier and in better condition when i use this spray, and the effect lasts up ... ...or weigh your hair down, as many other products do, and sprays evenly.
And now, to the smell! This may not be applicable to all, but in my opinion it is divine! I can't put my finger on the fragrance, just that it is sweet and yummy! And we all want our hair to smell nice, don't we?
At £4.99 for 200ml i would normally be slightly hesitant to purchase this product - i like my value for money. But i was pleasantly surprised with the results after ...

...same time i also bought Lee Stafford Poker Straight Dry Shampoo (£4.99) and Lee Stafford Poker Staraight Flat Iron Spray (£4.99) both of which perform extremely well and do their job. And ive since bought Lee Stafford Poker Straight Treatment (£5.99) to use in between shampoo and conditioner. This is also a really great product and leaves hair feeling really soft and moistureful.
