Wii Star Wars - More addictive than the dark side...

Advantages: Superb game, lovely to play, great longevity
Disadvantages: My son not collecting our hard earned studs!

...the fantastically animated star wars Lego characters are beautifully created, and easily identifiable from the films. The ability to then be some of the more diverse (and evil) characters like Darth Maul in freeplay gives the game a real longevity. The main aim of the game is to collect lego studs (money), which can be used to buy and develop new powers, characters and vehicles etc, although my son seemed more intent on a ‘dash-for-the-finish’ line…which ...
...the game, like smashing up lego city are really good fun, and I think one of the really good aspects of this game is the variation in the levels, including racing games, landspeeder chases, AT-AT fighting etc. Saying that, you don’t need to be a Star Wars guru to enjoy this game, and you don’t need superb reactions, or Wii skills! Summary This is a lovely game for children, as there is no blood and gore, and the animations make for a fun/safe ...

Picking up studs in space

Advantages: Great gameplay, puzzles and battles and a host of content from the Star Wars universe
Disadvantages: Certain parts might be quite tricky for younger players

...storage crates groaning with mismatched Lego pieces and could quite happily wile away the hours building increasingly more complicated creations. I discovered Star Wars at a young age and for me the films will always be something special, a Saturday night film treat that conjures up a host of warm associations. The synergy of Star Wars films with Lego pieces sounds, frankly, a bit odd. I strongly suspect that most people had the same reaction when ...
...very involving. The use of Lego throughout (collecting different pieces/characters/outfits) plays strongly to the fanboy element typically associated with Star Wars and this is a game that will appeal as much to a 10 year old who'd never watched the films as it would a diehard fan who remembers the films from their original release and has spent the last 30 years collecting memorabilia! Players are given a chance to play through all of the Star Wars ...

Lego Star Wars - "Wii-ly" good!

Advantages: Great Playability Over And Over Again
Disadvantages: Will Take Over Your Life For A While

I had played Lego Star Wars on my friends XBOX before, so i knew what I was getting when I purchased the game for my Wii. And I wasn't dissapointed at all. It's such a fun, playable game - and often hard to turn off. It's also really cool what they have "made" out of lego in the game - a bit of a retro blast to the past for me! In the game, the initial idea is that you play through all the Star Wars episodes (I to VI), with six levels in each episode ...
...collecting a set amount of lego "studs" (like money) to become a True Jedi, collecting 10 mini-kits to form a special lego vehicle, collecting red bricks (which give you different powers), and collecting blue mini-kits. After you play each level, you are taken back to the "Mos Eisley" cantina, where you can spend the studs you have collected and interact on a basic level with other star wars characters. Studs can be spent on buying new characters, ...

The force is strong in this one

Advantages: Depth of gameplay, good graphics, easy to control, good co operative play
Disadvantages: No real consequences of being killed, AI companions are poor.

...had experience of Star Wars Lego (original trilogy) on PSP. It is everything that is good about both games (Original and Episode I-III) compacted into one whole saga. It is so indepth it will keep you busy for hours, at t he moment I've been playing it for about 20 hours (according to the timer in the game) and I'm not even half way through (even with completing episode (I-IV). Tons of unlockable characters, objects and special levels all unlocked ...
...to build your own mini lego kits relating to each level (usually fighters and so on). There IS a way to control a lightsaber by waving the wii remote, but its not as accurate as using A and B to block/swing at your enemies. The graphics are superb, the music adapts to your situation within a level and the co operative play is simple yet satisfying. Unfortunatley, the AI of your friends when all being computer controlled is sadly lacking and it is ...
