    Advantages Advantages Greatest fighter around

Disadvantages Disadvantages Nobody left in his league

I remember well that fateful day when I saw a very unfit and unprepared Lennox Lewis enter the ring against a mediocre oppenant in South Africa only to be knocked out and lose both his titles in one lucky blow amde by a man who should not even have been in the same ring as Lennox. But last night the true Lennox lewis shone through and this time there were no excess pounds or sluggish moves he truely looked like the Lennox Lewis I remember winning all those years ago for Canada in the Olympics and what a display in the first he toyed with Rahman and allowed him a few jabs and I thought OH MY ... more

Advantages Advantages Power, size, he's british >_>

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lost fights he should have won

Origins: A lot of things are said about Lennox, most often than not an arguement about whether he's British (as he was born in England, and claims he's British), Canadian (who he represented in the Olympics) or Jamaican (where his family originated from) will ensue from any boxing fan (oddly it's usually the american ones that call him Canadian as they can't believe a Brit beat two of their boxing hero's in Tyson and Holyfield). But I won't go on. Lennox was born on September 2, 1965 in West Ham, London, England as Lennox Claudius Lewis (can we blame him for hiding the Roman name? Poor guy ... more

    Advantages Advantages Brilliant!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Is he too nice!! - I don't think so!

Well, what can you say, Lennosx Lewis is the greatest boxer of all time. However his last fight against Botha was very very predictable. You only have to look at the stats, as I did before the fight, to establish just who would win. Lennox Lewis had a far greater reach advantage, which nowadays seems to give away the winner of a fight! No disrespect to any fighter, but if your arm is shorter than your opponents, then how do you expect to get a combination of punches in, especially if the opponents tactics are to keep you out with his jab! But what I am trying to say is FAIR PLAY LENNOX - THE ... more

    Advantages Advantages SHOULD HAVE WON

Disadvantages Disadvantages LOST ALL HIS TITLES

I was very surprised that Lennox Lewis lost to Rahman in South Africa in the early hours of the morning. But, the preparation for the fight from Lewis wasn’t good. He came late to the country and therefore didn’t have enough time to climates, he was overweight compared to his previous fights, and generally he thought this was to be a stroll in the park. But, it wasn’t Rahman was prepared he worked hard and at the end it only needed one punch to knock Lewis in the Fifth round. I was bitterly disappointed as a boxing fan I have seen Lewis work so hard, and like many fans was ... more

    Advantages Advantages Everything

Disadvantages Disadvantages Other fighters ducking out from facing him

Lennox Lewis is the greatest heavyweight ever. That's what I think at least. Why do I say this? Well the evidence speaks for its self. Who else has held a version of the heavy weight tile as long as he has? He's faced more or less everyone who he's been told to. When I say more less everyone. I include Riddick Bowe and Mike Tyson. Both men, by various ways and means have ducked out from fighting him. Bowe put his title -when he refused to face him- in a bin. Tyson by way of Don King paid him not fight him. No one in history has done that. The only man who did was Muhammad Ali. But Ali had his ... more

For many years Lennox Lewis had to endure the cold shoulder of the British fight scene. "He's not really British, you know" was heard every time an announcer would tell the tv audience where Lewis hailed from. He honed his skills elsewhere, so he couldn't be truly British...sound like a certain tennis player as well? As soon as he became the heavyweight champ, though, everybody loved the true Brit and knew the neighbourhood where he was born and all that. All Al-Fayad has to do to get a passport is win a sporting title. ... more

    Advantages Advantages -

    Disadvantages Disadvantages -

Lennox Lewis in my view is an excellent fighter in my view but in some people’s view his ultimate test will be against Mike Tyson, and if he comes through that then he will be recognised more. His overwhelming victory over David Tua last year confirmed his status as the best Heavyweight. Their seems to be problems with a Mike Tyson fight as the deals seems off. That for me will be his ultimate test, I don’t think that there are as good heavyweights as their were say in the day of Ali when he had so many good boxers to beat, who dares forget the Ali V Frazer fights. I think we ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great technical fighter

Disadvantages Disadvantages not M. Ali, and needs to know it

I've heard a lot of talk about Lennox not being prepared to fight Rahman, such as not giving himself time to adjust to the altitude in Africa. Well in my opinion lack of preperation had nothing to do with it. With the amount of adrenaline pumping through a boxer in a stadium like that, thin air will not make the slightest bit of difference to the way they fight. Lennox, as everyone who watched the fight will know was getting a little cocky and got caught out with a good right hand by the 'Rockman'. This although sounds bad is not, and boxers especially do get cocky to phase out their opponent ... more

Advantages Advantages Lennox is British and the best at what he does. How often do you get people like that in Britain?

Disadvantages Disadvantages His weight and speed, could be picked on by Rahman.

The last time the previous owner of all but one of the Heavyweight belts, Lennox Lewis fought Hasim 'The Rock' Rahman, our British-Canadian heavyweight, was knocked out in Johannesburg, South Africa. Since that fight Rahman has become the latest of the legendary Don King's fighters and got in a 'punch up' live on American TV. The re-match, on November 17th in Las Vegas, Nevada will be a night to remember. Lennox has not fought since he lost, but now he will be raring to go. Rahman will also be out to prove it was not a fluke and that he can beat Lennox again. Lennox to take 'The Rock' out ... more

Advantages Advantages World's best boxer at the moment

Disadvantages Disadvantages You have to pay to see the guy fight

Lennox Lewis. The greatest boxer of the present era. Indestructible. Undefeatable. Innedible. (Tyson likes the taste of people doesn't he?) But with wrestling becoming more and more like the WWF marketing machine, you can't see a fight without shelling out up to £20, and for pubs and clubs the Pay Per View price is completely extortionate. In real terms they have to sell twice as many drinks to break even on average. So is it worth it? In my opinion, unfortunately no. Paying for the events on Sky Box Office will only encourage people. Instead, get a group from your work or your friends ... more
