Advantages: Battery life, Wide screen Disadvantages: To heavy, really difficult to build from scratch.
This is the laptop that I use and support at work. My job is that of an IT Desktop Support Analyst and therefore I need to have quite an in depth knowledge of the product.
This laptop can be used both with windows XP and Windows Vista. The machine comes with 512mb of Ram installed by default, but this is expandable if you wish to put more memory into the machine. ...I could possibly find. The Lenovo R61I, It had all the features I could think of that I would ever need with a price I could afford! My only concern was the performance that it could have. I figured with all the features there had to be some draw back. I powered up the display and begun running random applications individually and several at a time. There was a split second lag however nothing to be worried about. I have had a few problems with this ... ...softphone? Worry no more, the Lenovo R61I has a built in fingerprint scanner that really works. Just slide your' finger over the sensor and you're on your' way! Advantages: Easy to use, runs smoothly, good battery life and high quality. Disadvantages: Some probelms with the wireless adapter.
I have owned several different ThinkPad's over the years. I have enjoyed them all and found them to be extremely useful and reliable. I knew that I wanted a decent quality portable laptop that would be suitable for all the basics.

The R61 has pretty much all the ports you would expect a laptop to have. There are three USB ports on the notebook, audio ports, a wireless switch, a ...

Quick review of Lenovo ThinkPad R61i
The R61i is based on a good platform of Intel Core Duo and plenty of memory, but it's build quality and lack of mouse pad let it down when it comes to using it. The keyboard is springy and tiresome to use and the silly red button to control the direction of the cursor is difficult enough on a desk but on a moving train, for example, is impossible. So it means you need a real mouse to go along with it and one isn't provided, so that's additional cost.
With DELL and HP/Compaq producing much better quality Notebooks for the same price, it's difficult to see who is going to buy one. ...
