It is a fairly small printer compared to the others that were on display, with some of them I think I would have had to have an extension built on my house just to fit it in!, it is also light as well, which is great if you need to keep packing it away when you have finished, like I have too.
When I got home again I took it out the box and got ready to connect it to my laptop to print out ... ...soooo expensive, I bought a Lexmark colour 27 cartridge, and at WHSMITHS it cost me £25.99, but at Tesco it only cost me £17.99, either way I could have gone back to PC World and bought the printer again for the price of a new cartridge!
I am very pleased with my £25 printer, I just wish my laptop was only £25 as my bank balance would look a lot healthier! ...

...a low-to-average user and the Lexmark Z601 has not only lived up to but exceeded my expectations in this respect. Its dimensions are width 40.4cm, depth 21.6cm, height 13.5cm and it weighs only 1.8kg.

I saw the Lexmark Z601 in the Argos catalogue for £29.99 and went to see it “in the flesh” at PC World just so I could be sure it was what I thought it was! I knew from the Argos catalogue that a colour cartridge was included but that I would ... ...All in all, I would say the Lexmark Z601 is a good value-for-money printer if your usage is low, however if you expect to do a lot of printing you may want to consider another printer that uses cheaper ink cartridges (and possible comes with the usb lead supplied). ...

...and to my surprise the Lexmark Z601 caught my eye. At this time I didn't look at the price but put it straight into my basket. When I got to the checkout it was £30!!! I couldn't believe it.
Anyway when it arrived I tried to connet it to my PC, but guess what, there was no USB lead and Only one colour CARTRIDGE!!!
Luckily I had a spare UBS lead off my old digital camera so I connected it up and installed it which only took about 5 - 10 minutes.
... ...printer is very cleaer because you only need a colour cartridge and it prints out black aswell. It won't run out as fast but if you can't afford both you can just buy a colour.
The printer itself is only 1.8kg in weight which is very light.
Now as for the printer goes, I thought because it was so cheap that the black ink would fade and the pictures were going come out all dotty and horrible.

For the price of this printer, its definitely work a look.
However, as previously mentioned in other reviews, you need to check what is included in the price as we had to buy a USB cable and blavk cartridge (colour was included).
On the positive side, the print quality is very good, including photos, and you can select 4 levels of print quality, which can save you both ink and time. It is quiet and easy to use, and also does duplex printing with ... ...the paper back in, which saves your brain.
On the downside, it can get through the ink cartridges quite quickly, especially if you use the better quality settings, and the cartridges cost approx £20 each.
I would not recommend this printer for someone who would want to print a lot of photos, but as a basic cover all moderate use printer it is more than sufficient, at a very good price. ...

...print, i tried out the speed of the printer and got about 7 ppm black and 5 colour, which is not amazing, but then again u are paying sub 30 pounds so what do you really expect?
overal a good cheap printer, perfect for home use, well done lexmark ...

I bought this printer for £30 when my old Canon BJC-210 printer packed up after many years.
The printer is very light and quite small and seemed good value for money, however once I got it home I found out that the USB cable had to be purchased separately. When reading the set up manual I found the printer very quick and easy to set up and install
The paper tray at the top of the printer has capacity for about 50 sheets and like other printers ... ...printer when printing. Ordinary paper costing £3 for 500 sheets is good enough for this printer.
When printing text at low quality the printer claims to have a speed of 8 pages per minute. I found this to be a little slower at about 6 pages per minute but I still found this to be very fast. When printing images at normal quality the quality is very good and takes about a minute to print a 6 by 4 inch image. The quoted resolution is 2400 x 1200 dpi ...

...disadvantage is the price of Lexmark ink, you could buy another printer for less! There is ways around this. Tesco's also sell there own brand ink which is half the price and of course there are refills. I personally buy ink on EBay very cheapley.
If you are looking for a good quality printer, mainly for home use - I strongly recommend this one. ...

Having recently bought this printer as a distress pirchase, i'm glad to say I am pleasently surprised at this machine. The printer comes with everything except for a USB cable, which adds another £5 to £10 on the overall price and the owners manual is loaded on to the PC via cd-rom disc. I had to buy this printer to print some OHT's as my printer was being serviced and i had to have a machine to print these off. I got mine from Asda for £29.97. The ... ...isn only just okay. The sheet feeder is akward when using OHT's but it's fine for paper. The speed of this printer is more than adequate when printing pages of text - be it colour or normal black and white, for pictures it can take just a bit longer. The printer is reasonbley quiet in its operation. The CD-ROM owners manual is fine and pretty user friendly, as well as the user friendly printer driver software whihc shows the level of the ink and ...
