...don't know the official rate Lexmark publish with the bumpf,(the machine had been installed and all boxes taken away whilst I was at work.) But the black only prints do come off at a rapid rate, as illustrated above! (Around 7 seconds for a full page of text)
Obviously, colour prints take a little longer but these do not dwell either. I have found a full colour poster I have created for fundraising purposes will print in around 40 seconds.

This Lexmark Z615 uses two cartridges that are installed side by side. Both cartridges must be in the printer for it to function. otherwise your print manager gets mad and keeps flashing up on the screen!
We use the original Lexmark cartridges but are aware that there are 'reconditioned' cartridges available. For black ink, use the Lexmark 17 cartridge which we have found retailing around £14.95

...text for invoices. My other Lexmark was not printing them in black, it was coming out more green so I set off to find a new printer:)
This seemed great. It had its own black cartridge to ensure crisp black text and also a colour. It was only 14 Pounds in Wilkinsons WOW! When I got the printer home I opened the box and inside was:

And instructions.
The USB cord is not included.... ... ...In the software supplied by Lexmark there are some handy features, Such as printer head cleaning - Used to clean any dried ink from the cartridge. There are also many other cleaning and performance enhancing programs inside.
Even though the printer is not descibed as a photo printer I have printed a few phones on 4 x 6 Paper. It did a great job! I was very suprised. The quality of the picture was great. It came out a bit streaky on the normal print ...

...This is not the only Lexmark (we have bought more expensive models aswell) we have bought, and they all have some basic design faults.
Picture quality:
Using brand cartidges, pictures were poor, even on full quality using the right paper (that does not mean any bog standard photo paper).
Printing speed:
It's not fast, even on low quality black and white (which should be draft quality - due to using black cartridge only rather than using a little ... ...get an HP or Epson. Lexmark make rubbish printers at low prices
Be warned, Dell inkjets (and SOME of 'their' lasers) are re-branded Lexmarks. Not that you should buy something from Dell anyway - don't go on about why, they are all very very poor. It is now cheaper to build your own, it wasn't a year or two ago, but it is again. You will get a much better computer.

After my decrepit old Epson decided not to print one day i decided it was time i go look for a new printer. Being a student, which means being on a budget, i had to find something with fair printing at a good price. After scouring the web for reviews, and finding a ton of bad ones but not very many good ones, i was undecided if i should buy this printer. But after a trip to comet to find there cheapest printer at £50 i was soon persuaded to go to ... ...the offer of a free USB cable!!
On opening the box i found that there was only a few parts, which meant one thing, less time putting the thing together and more printing time. The one thing i was disappointed about, but not bothered about, was the lack of USB cable. I don't know why printers don't come with them. I bought a lexmark Z615 about 6 months ago and was reasonably pleased with it to start off with, its a tidy little printer ideal for home use, its about 400mm in width by 210mm in depth and stands about 100mm in height.
It prints around 8 pages per minute in colour format which means it is not the quickest printer around although the quality of printing is very high and it prints pictures and photos very well which is one of reasons I bought it.
... ...it self, a Inkjet colour Lexmark Z615 comes with all the necessary equipment, Drivers, USB cable and cartridges, it is compatible with all windows based systems although it only recommends the newer version 98/NT/2000/ME/XP. We bought this printer for occasional use, but found that the print quality was so good that we were using it quite a lot. It prints pretty quickly if printing in black and white, or having the setting on colour to draft. The manual quotes that it should print up to 14 pages per minute for black draft and up to 8 pages per minute for colour best, but i do not agree and would say it was about 10 pages per minute for black and 5 or 6 pages for colour.
... ...that the cartridges are rather expensive, especially as the fact that even if one colour runs out the whole printer will not work and have to buy a new catridge, so we have said that once the current cartridges have run out, we will not buy any more, as we now have a colour laser printer.
It was very easy to install and came supplied with the cartridges, but these were not full and so ran out pretty quickly. I like the fact that if you have forgotten ...

As a student I needed to buy the best printer for the cheapest price, and after searching through PC World, Currys and Comet, I found this printer for only £30. For this amount of money I expected to have a few difficulties and not the best quality, but I was suprised. I own an Apple Mac laptop, and this printer works perfectly with it. Not only is it a compact size to fit anywhere, the leads are small (no chance of tangled knots anywhere), and it ... ...move around (if needed). There are many different settings for layouts and page sizes which is perfect for changing from A4, to photos, to letters. The print quality is also excellent. Photos can be printed brilliantly on either standard paper, and on glossy photo paper and is as good being printed on a professional photo printer. Overall an excellent printer for its price. ...

I got the printer with my laptop when I bought it. In my experience it uses a lot of ink. I have bought ink for it on average every 2 months and I don't even print a lot from it. The printer ink for it is usually around £35 for black and £30 for colour, if you get them re-filled it is only £19 but it is still a lot of ink considering I am a student. I have had to buy more ink than my friend who is doing English and prints off everyday. Also I have ... ...print, I don't move my printer around so I can't understand why this is. In turn with me having to do printer aligning, it wastes even more ink. I have also found that if you use the printer for printing photos, the quality isn't really that good. ...myself a new printer. The Lexmark caught my eye firstly because of its low low price. It didnt look bad so withought another thought I had paid for it and was soon at home sitting next to my PC.
In the box there was, the printer, driver CD, ink cartridge and documentation on how to use the printer. Thankfully I had a USB lead for it or it would have meant another trip down to PC World. So remember all printers need a USB lead the cheapest I have ... ...to your PC and the Lexmark and you were ready to configure it all other Windows you can use the CD provided. The cartridge is easy to install and just clicks into place. Configuration is easy you basically allign the print to the straightest setting by getting a print out and typing the number of the straightest line and your ready to print out whatever you want.

...etc. But with that any Lexmark seem able to rack up ink cartridge costs. This caused my bank account to become thinner and thinner. In the end I decided to give up buying new ink cartridges and started using refill kits. Great! No chip to have to contend with so it should be plain sailing. I managed to get away with 3 or 4 refills but then the cartridges started leaking after being refilled. Then they seemed to run out as if someone was printing ... ...refill the things again and lo-and-behold the black cartridge is glued in there with its own ink! The ink had leaked and stopped the cartridge being released. In the end my dad resorted to a screwdriver and from that moment on it refused to print in black ink. No matter who tried to fix it. Me, My dad, My granddad. No-one no matter what we tried could fix the thing so it was abandoned. It is currently sitting on to of my computer cabinet waiting ...
