Advantages: A great cheap little printer! Disadvantages: USB cable not provided
I recently purchased a Lexmark (Z617 series) printer from my local Tesco store. My old printer unfortunately came to the end of it's life, and I really needed a cheap printer ,quickly! For those of you who use your home computer system religiously, you know how desperate you get when something breaks down! I use a PC at home.
To my surprise I found this little printer in Tesco, and paid just £34.97 for it! I had to have it.
I have never bought ... ...For those who may find this useful, below is the spec for the printer:
-Mac and Windows compatibility
-14 pages per minute in black and white/ 8 in colour

I bought this printer and it offers good colour quality. As ink ject printer, it is slow but it id good quality and you can print leaflets, flyers as we. The picture quality isn't perfect but it is alright for personal use at home. I found the printing speed average on pictures and document. The colour on output is good as long as your settings are good which you do at the start up. It is easy to use and you connect it by USB and the installation ... ...printed documents and I have faced no problems - a year so far - but with pictures, it is slower and the quality isn't that good so really it is dependent on what function do you want your printer th perform - fast and good quality output or cheaper and slower alternative. ...

...know i say that alot in my reviews but i only say it if i mean it) has a few quid to spare, and i will be buying more products from lexmark. lexmark cartridges a quite cheap (less than a tenner) and the 3rd party ones are even cheaper ...

The Lexmark International Z 617 Colour Inkjet is a decent printer for the starter, or the infrequent PC print user.
It is extremely basic, simple to use, and most importantly, cheap.
The print quality is average, and the cartridges are reasonably priced (a twin pack costs around £25 and will give several hundred prints on normal print quality).
The printer connects by USB 2.0 and is easy to install using the CD supplied. The software updates can ... ...and just go to Lexmark's website if in need of further info, as the software updates really slow you PC down by using up unneccessary memory.
All in all, this printer is fairly good for the infrequent user, but would be found severely lacking by anyone wanting to take it to the next level - but, for under £50 what do you want? ...
