...I set eyes upon this Lexmark Z735. In Comet that weekend and this printer happened to be on sale at only £14.99, bargain. It was half price, the usual price was around £29 which still is great value considering the price of some printers on the market today. The Comet staff were great, I will review them later on! Opened the box and inside was the printer, power cord and a free ... ...computer and clicked print, the Lexmark wizard popped up and took me through the settings such as paper type and the quality I wanted, this was great and very simple to use while looking like professional software at the same time. ...reason to use my old Lexmark printer the Z25 model, which has undoubtedly served me extremely well. On trying to print I discovered the Black cartridge to be empty. I, as I have done many times proceeded to refill using one of the proprietary refill kits. On refitting the ink simply splurged everywhere and resulted in one heck of a mess and the need to get a new printer.
I don't print very often, nor do I need a printer with top notch quality, I ... ...of my local ASDA a Lexmark printer on offer for £24.99. I continued shopping giving the printer some serious thought.
Later this afternoon I went ahead with the purchase and how pleased I am. The Z735 is one of the printers form Lexmark that uses its new Number one Cartridge. I got this at half price for £19.99! That was cheaper than buying a new cartridge for my Lexmark, so I bought the printer instead.
The printer uses a single cartridge, so print quality depends on what you want to use it for:
Photos - colour, with glossy paper: very good quality results, dark blacks, with only a slight green tinge from the lack of a dedicated balck cartridge.
Photos - black and white - not very good quality - get a printer with ... ...Every day printing on plain paper (which this is mostly used for) - good quality colours, blacks come out slightly faint, with a slight greenish tinge. Sharp, good quality resolution.
Another plus is that with only one cartridge to replace, this is very simple to setup and use. At this price, you really can't complain - however there is one major drawback - the cost of a new cartridge. Lexmark's printers are the cheapest on the market and offer ...

Advantages: 3 in one- Print, Scan, Copy- Also the smallest all in one on the market. Disadvantages: Availability of cheap cartridges isn't brilliant and didn't come with USB Printer Cable.
...the cartridge it takes is Lexmark no. 1. (By the way- if anyone knows anywhere to get them from more cheaply could they drop me a mail- i would be very grateful).
Overall then the printer does seem everything i need at a great price, needless to say there were a couple of hurdles in the way and only time will tell if the item is reliable, durable, affordable to run etc. I will try and keep you posted- As it stands thou i would recommend this item ...

Whether or not you buy one of these printers very much depends on what type of user you are. For a particular type of user this is a perfect choice, cheap to buy, meets its needs and cheap to maintain. However other types of users will find it much too simple, limited and, actually, quite expensive to maintain. When I talk about maintain I am, of course talking essentially about ink cartridges.
Appearance wise, it has a simple look about it and ... ...into one of those designed-for-purpose desktop computer desks.
It usually comes at an attractive price. I bought mine for 30 quid at a high street retailer. Although there is a bit of a hidden bite in that it doesn't come with a USB lead, which could put another tenner on it unless you've got a spare hanging around. The Lexmark Z735 is a very basic printer and is very conventional looking in its square shape. The printer does not have the quality of some more advanced and more expensive printers but for the price you would pay for it, it is definately worth it. The Z735 is a n Ink Jet printer and the cost of the ink cartridges is very reasonable, i have this printer and an Epson CX3200 and i use the Lexmark one for printing out basic documents as it is quicker ... ...to the printer via a USB 2.0 socket. The Lexmark Z735 is very easy to setup, install and use, and also changing the cartridges on it is quite simple. One more thing slightly humerous is the way the printer program speaks when, for example "Printing Started" when the print starts. ...

I've had my Z735 for six months or so and so far have found this basic printer more than adequately does the job. We just use it for the odd letter and print out from the internet, and for this kind of domestic use it's perfect - although perhaps you'd need something more heavy duty if you were printing a lot of stuff on a regular basis. Print quality has been fine for what I've used it for, not the best quality I've ever seen for photos but more ... ...impressed with how long the cartridge has lasted (not changed it yet!), but haven't yet made up my mind whether it's an advantage or not that this printer has an all-in-one cartridge instead of separate black and colour ones.
I like the software that comes with it and have found it very easy to use. I particularly like the two-sided printing function which I've used a few times and found very simple. I was disappointed that it didn't come with a ...

Lexmark are a fairly well known brand and generally do cheap printers and all in one printer and scanners. The Lexmark Z 735 printer is basic printer and comes with one colour cartridge which will print both colour and black for you however if you likely to be justy printing black then i would suggest buying a black ink cartiridge. However be prepared to fork out at least £20 as lemark ink carts are very pricey. In some cases it is actually better ... ...set or ink cartiridges for a printer which is a complete waste!.
The printer is supplied with a manual,printer power cable and the driver installation CD . The look and feel of the printer is rather cheap but i suppose this is expected for this price. It is also a a fair sized printer too and isn't the prettiest looking printer i've ever seen.
In order to set-up the printer,it is just a matter of plugging in the usb cable into the usb port,inserting ...

Well what can i say. I paid 25 pounds for my printer and it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. I have been very pleased witht he value for money on this product. I do have one word of warning though, The paper fill tray is sometimes quite tempermental and will require someone to be watching over it for the duration of the print. This isn't a problem for me as i am usually sat next to it when i do use it. I have also tried using it for a photo printer ...
