Before I write this opinion, I'd like to let you know that I'm leaving Ciao for awhile. I'm taking a break for many reasons, most importantly, I've run out of ideas. Now for the opinion......... I took a half day off work. It is Friday, neither doctor was in the office. Thereofore, it would have been a wasted day. I'm caught up on my work and, frankly, given the frustrations of what is going on with Jon's divorce, I felt that we needed to get away for a day. We drove up to Salisbury, Maryland. This is a next-to-nothing trip compared to a drive south to Norfolk and/or Virginia Beach. However ... more

Advantages Advantages Top end of the market, very tasty and good quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price a little high

    Advantages Advantages Taste and enjoyment

    Disadvantages Disadvantages UK prices

I only wish that I could say that I owned this product............my actual ownership of my favourite tipple seems to last but briefly. Slightly oaky and golden yellow in colour, this Australian Chardonnay is my glass of summer. I am confused though recent bottles seem to come with either a plastic plug 'cork' or a heaven for fend screw top seal, and I thought that this was a premium product. Nevertheless it still tastes great, creamy and oaky with a hint of vanilla, whatever the bottle seal. It tastes even better when you buy by the case, normally 6 in a cardboard box. Again the premium image ... more

Advantages Advantages Enhanced by the Oak barrel

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Needs deep chilling

Lindemans have been making quality wines since 1843 at the family homestead Cawarra founded by Dr. Henry Lindeman. This is nearly as long as the first convicts were exported to Australia. South East Australia is well blessed with a sunny hot climate, high humidity and is an ideal wine growing location, that is as long as your vineyard slopes towards the sea. This wine would be better served with party snacks rather than with a main meal. If you're thinking of a nice salmon steak, then try the semillon instead (from fellow SE Australian Seppelt- Seppelt Moyston Semillon Chardonnay 2002- makes ... more
