Other access packages are also available. What’s more if you sign up now you can choose a CD-Rom valued at up to £30, and get a £5 voucher for amazon. (You might want to see my article on amazon.) F--- OFF FREESERVE, I LOVE LINEONE

Advantages: a satisfying and loving realtionship
Disadvantages: 50p per minute helpline costs

...options, but I plumped for LineOne SurfTime, because of the twinkle in it's eyes. For a first date I had a look at the LineOne website to see whether me and LineOne were suited, and I have to say we hit it off pretty well. LineOne said that if I joined SurfTime they would give me a £5 Amazon voucher and a CD-ROM (The Oxford Interactive Encyclopedia). LineOne said the encyclopedia was worth £29.99, but that seems a shallow boast. LineOne also tried ...
...still wasn't sure and maybe LineOne could phone me in a couple of days. The next day I got an e-mail from LineOne, asking me to commit myself to a relationship. Here's a transcript of the letter: Dear Jonathan, What can I, LineOne, offer you? 1. I will give you 5 free e-mail addresses, although admittedly these are quite slow and tedious to use, so you're probably best off using another e-mail provider. 2. I will give you 50MB of web space. ...

Lineone an ISP that offers good value and service

Advantages: reliable service
Disadvantages: suffers occasional disconnections

Lineone have provided me so far with a trouble free service and offer a very competitive deal. I am on the unlimited weekend and off peak tariff and apart from the odd disconnection has been trouble free. I 've read a lot of the reports on Ciao about Lineone and they are taking some stick over the quip debacle. But don't let that cloud the issue. Regarding the disconnection thing . Let's be honest how many ISP's provide a totally 100 percent trouble ...
...trying to make is Ok Lineone are not perfect but is anything ? We must compare like with like to get a fair comparison and with me so far ( touch wood ) everything has been fine. I nearly always get through initially at the first time of asking even at so called busy times and the company have always answered my questions quickly within two days even at weekends. For me this is impressive . Perhaps they are not as glamorous as some ISP's but ...

Advantages: Good connection speed, pretty reliable
Disadvantages: Poor customer support, impossible to cancel Surftime over the phone, 50p per minute tech support

...get BT (who part own LineOne & also Quip), to collect the money via your phone bill. £5.99 goes to BT for the Surtime Evening & Weekend package and £4.00 goes to Lineone as a service subscription fee. Stay WELL away from this one

Advantages: 50 free ipoints for signing up
Disadvantages: Terrible service,Terrible customer support, the worst ISP I've used

Lineone offer local call rate access (who wants that!) which is totally free or lineone surftime meaning free internet calls at offpeak times(evenings, weekends) for a fee of £10 a month with peak access only charged at 1p a minute. I subscribed to their surftime package as I'd got pretty sick of hearing engaged tones on IC24 and X-Stream, the monthly fee of £10 sounded OK but the service is laughable - Lineone reserve the right to terminate your ...

Simply superb ISP

Advantages: Unlimited evenings and weekend surfing for a fixed price
Disadvantages: None I have found yet

I only joined Line One about 6 weeks ago which was therefore after their 'free' offer. I have been totally impressed with the service (however, I was with RedHotAnt before so it probably wouldn't take much). I received a trial offer disk through the post for their pay per minute service which I initially tried. By loading the disk it did change my homepage and some other settings, but it was worth it for the first time logon every time and reasonably ...
...them and they responded within 24 hours and the replies were efficient and helpful. Having tested this service for a couple of weeks I joined the BT Surftime option. You pay £9.99 to BT via your phone bill per month (£5.99 to BT and £4.00 to Line One). This gives you unlimited evenings and weekend surfing. I still log on first time every time and have had absolutely no problems with the service. I think you have to check that the Surftime service ...

Number One

Advantages: lots of features
Disadvantages: ?

LineOne is an ISP for which you pay £9.99 a month and get unmetered offpeak access. Peak access costs only 1p per minute. These are reasonable rates and well worth the price. This is fine for someone like me who only needs the Internet in the evening after a long hard day’s work! The chances of em using the net during the day are very slim. When I joined LineOne I got a free CD-Rom and a £5 Amazon voucher. At the moment they are awarding flights ...

It is always easy and fast to get connected and even if you experience any problems the LineOne staff are extremely helpful. Not that you need 5, but it is still a facility! • All of the UK radio stations ...

Lineone Surftime you must be joking, maybe not.

Advantages: Appears to be reliable now
Disadvantages: None so far

Since the demise of Lineone Quip from which I had no problems at all, I made the mistake of registering for Lineone Surftime which is when my problems began. Almost immediatly I started to get disconnected after about 20 minutes, emails to Lineone,s help line, which were usually answered within 24 hours suggested the problem lay within the settings of my Pc. This I found strange as it had performed perfectly with Lineone Quip, also as my children ...
...there was a problem with Lineone surftime that was being investigated by there engineers and BT and he also gave me a freephone number to ring which gave a daily update on the system. I have to admit that the service has improved slightly, but even tonight ...

I've been using this service for around 8 months now after an absolute horror with BT Internet and previously ic24, FreeNetName and even AOL (back in my "newbie" days). The worst time of the week to connect is Sunday, when you can sometimes expect a maximum of 3 attempts, but never more than this in my experience. Once connected I have yet to have a network error or forced disconnect. There are no time limits and the connection ...

LINEONE better but getting worse

Advantages: good quality homepage
Disadvantages: sometimes slow at busy periods

I have been using lineone on and off now since i got my PC over a year ago and its still the best ISP i have tried. When the ISP's started off peak access last year i immeadeatley changed to Freeserve and paid £5.99 a month, the service was great except that 2 hours into your evenings surfing it goes click and thats it till you reconnect, well Lineone hasnt introduced that (yet) I have had a few problems checking my e-mails using outlook express ...

I get excellent webspace too and a set of easy to use templates are available for people with no knowledge of building a website to make a site. There have been a few times when I could not connect at all, but on the rare occasion when this does happen its only for a morning or a few hours at the most. Among some of the features provided on the Lineone ...

Fast, Reliable No-frills access

Advantages: Good Services, fast reliable access
Disadvantages: Occasional dial up problems, although they appear to now be remedied

I chose Lineone as my first ISP when i first starting accessing the internet about 3 years ago (*sniff* nostalgia) and at the time was on a pay as you go local call rates service and had completely trouble free access with them. I enjoyed and made good use of their no-frills simple but good services including web-based and pop3 e-mail and games servers. Why I'll go elsewhere

Advantages: Great service while it was promoted
Disadvantages: You'd be dealing with an ISP who pulled a stunt on clients before

I signed up for, as LineOne said when I was invited, "Free access for life", Unlimited 24/7 access" etc etc. What I got was a good service from a very shoddy company. When L1 announced the end to the short-lived service, they had the gall to blame users for hogging the system. In truth, the only problems users have experienced since the launch were after the announcement. I can only assume that now the ISP has stopped trying to attract victims (sorry, ...
...see their policy as purely a ploy to gain market share before introducing BT Surftime - an inferior srvice provided by their part-owners, BT. As such I will use their unmetered service up to the hilt until September 30th then move elsewhere. A company who cares so little for its clients doesn't deserve support. If they had underestimated demand, as they stated to the press, I may have forgiven them and stayed. As it is, they have compounded their ...
