Disadvantages Disadvantages High interest rate if you choose an extended credit option

If you want to buy things from clothes to gardening equipment, but dislike going round shops, or find it hard to do so, a catalogue such as Littlewoods is extremely handy. The company manages several different catalogues such as Janet Frazer, and also has high-street branches in most towns, along with Littlewoods Extra stores run in a similar fashion to Argos. They also do finance, like loans and credit cards. The product I'm reviewing here is their main mail-order catalogue. I'll just warn you now, this review has turned out a lot longer then planned, because there's so much to this catalogue ... more

While in town I was approached by a woman asking if I would be interested in applying for a Littlewoods catalogue, after a short conversation with her I decided to apply for it, She took a few details from me such as name, date of birth and address etc, she give me a leaflet which entitled me to £15 of my first order and advised me that the catalogue should arrive within a few days. Other ways you can obtain a Littlewoods catalogue is to give them a call, go to their website or a friends recommendation. Two days later I found the catalogue on my doorstep, I had a nosey through it and decided ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages sending broken items back

I started an account with Littlewoods in about 1998, and carried it through to about 2000. I will never have an account with them again and I will tell you why. To start with, admittedly everything was fine, until one day I ordered two items for my daughter, a skirt, and a pair of trainers. I received neither, just a letter to say stock was being delayed. Fine. Until I got my statement and found I had been charged for both items. I rang customer services, who promised to credit my account and she then reordered both items for me (which I did then receive). Ok so that was a minor hiccup, and ... more

The Littlewoods current advertising campaign is keen to make us believe that Littlewoods Would, due to my recent experiences with this store I feel that a more appropriate slogan for Littlewoods advertising campaign would be Littlewoods Won't, don't and couldn't care less anyway. Before I begin I must apologise if this opinion is in the wrong place - You see my nightmare experiences began when I opened an account with the Littlewoods Index mail order catalogue, although my more recent problems have been with the individual stores and the Head Office. About 3 years ago I made a purchase in my ... more

Ah, catalogues! Where would some of us be without them? Most people look on catalogues as being expensive and usually think they could find the goods for much cheaper prices, and yes I suppose that is correct, but what about when things are tough and you just don’t have the cash available to purchase something from the shops? Well some people go out and get a loan or maybe use a Credit Card; Hmm, but don’t you have to pay interest on loans and credit cards? Yes of course you do, so in the long run, these people are not getting their goods any cheaper, are they? So what I’m trying to say is ... more

Hi everyone, I am not writing this as a balanced argument more of a statment of fact, and comparison, I noticed one or two adverse comments about Littlewoods on the Ciao, and like most folk I could probably find something negative to say, afterall they are like most other catalogue companies, expensive, but offering a service....however as a point of interest I thought that I would highlight a bit of a discrepency between the Catalogue and their website... I have been an account holder of Littlewoods for about 18 months, I have bought one or two items from them and a major purchase ( a cooker) ... more

I've never really been a member of a catalogue before, I've never had the need! However, a few days ago I spotted a laptop that I wanted to purchase. What with Christmas and other expenses, I didn't have the money spare to simply go out and purchase one of these. So, I decided to search the Littlewoods catalogue, in which I found the laptop I was looking for. This was also on the Littlewoods website. The laptop I wanted was £379, and I was looking to take the laptop out over 152 weeks, which with the interest totalled around £525. I contacted Littlewoods to see if I could open an account and ... more

I have run many home shopping catalogues in my years but Littlewoods is the one I prefer. The catalogue is bursting with ideas for fashion, interiors, electrical, home entertainment, DIY & garden and toys and gifts – over 1300 pages in the latest one. Good range of fashion from their own lable to designer names such Elspeth Gibson, Tommy Hilfiger, Tristan , Scott Henshall and Amands Wakeley to name but a few. They do fashion brands including Miss Selfridge , Wallis, Ted Baker, Kickers, Morgan, Pineapple and Top Shop and a lot of the designs are exclusive to home shopping – so you wont find ... more

I used to shop in littlewoods stores untill there closure 2 years ago which is when i resorted to using there catalogue. Littlewoods catalogue has a large variety of womens, mens and childrens clothes along with a large choice of household items, during the summer they have a gardening section and in the winter they have a christmas section along with a toy section. My littlewoods orders are usually delivered within 3 days, i then have 14 days to decide if i want to keep the items i have ordered. If i want to keep them they are added to my account automatically and if i want to return them i ... more
