    Originally contacted by phone to say we had qualified for a £1000 discount if we had a kitchen fitted and was prepared to be a show home. After enduring the salesman for 5 hours we did decide to go for the deal albeit a little expensive for the size of the kitchen. I knew we could cancel within 7 days because the agreement was signed in the home and because we took a finance option we had futher cancelation options. The quality was very good and what sold it was the fact that if problems were encountered after work had begun they would do any work necessary. However we were lied to about the ... more

    I'm in the process of getting a kitchen from Living Design myself. I signed the agreement on the 3rd September 2002, on the understanding that the kitchen would be fitted within 28 days. After several no-shows from the fitters, with explanations ranging from "we can't find your units" to "all the fitters have called in sick" from the Installations Department and no attempt to give a new time , my units were finally fitted on the 7th November 2002.     A couple of months ago we recieved a phone call from a living design salesman, we agreed to have him visit and give us a quote. He was here for the whole afternoon drawing sketches and showing us pictures of celebreties who had also had their kitchens fitted by the company. eventually he came up with a quote for £8000!!! which we said was out of our budget. Yhe salesman then said that they had an offer on which meant he could knock £1000 off but this was still too expensive.     I remember an advert for this company years ago on the telly that urged "Don't sign until you've seen Living Design". From my recent experience with this company, and through reading CIAO reviews, "Don't sign if it's Living Design" is more applicable. To be fair, I was lucky with the fitter, a guy who knew what he was doing and had the certificates to prove it - unlike many of todays self appointed "craftsmen".     Having been let down by 2 no-show Salesman the 3rd arrived on-time and was clearly very pleasant and helpful. I signed up with Living Design and waited for a surveyor. He did not show so I cancelled my contract. The Sales and Sales Manager contacted my for a further chance and they promised the Surveyor would attend at an agreed time and that the Sales manager would personally ensure the kitchen was 100% installed, fitted and GREAT! The Surveyor did arrive (although a little late) and completed his work and I looked forward excited that my new kitchen would be installed. Monday - Builders due ... more

    We ordered our Living Design kitchen when we were just about to move into our current house, where we've now been for 4 years. The salesman turned up (on time, which seems to be a bonus, judging from everyone else's reviews!) and was incredibly pushy from the off. We had told him our budget from the start and also given him a plan of exactly what we wanted as I knew how I wanted the space to look. With respect to him, he only suggested a couple of alterations which I was OK with, but was very keen to close the deal and kept pushing as to us signing up there and then.     Advantages Advantages Thanks to much pressure I got upgrades and most of it free!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Where to start!

    We bought a kitchen off a pushy salesman. We were young and naive and genuinely believed in the whole £1000 off deal. The fitter turned up on time. He then fitted it incredibly badly - the gas hob wobbled, there was a hole in the worktop (which he tried to hide with orange filler!) he made a hole in a cupboard door, there was a cupboard missing, the oven wasn't screwed in, they sent the wrong hob, he forgot to put the filters in the extractor, the plumbing for the sink leaked, the doors weren't on straight, he fitted a unit then realised he had to do something else so kicked the hell out of ... more

    Living Design/Anglian kitchens salesman said they would fit our kitchen in 2 days.Thesalesman and company literature stated that we would recieve a quality service and quality contact from first contact to completion The fitting of our kitchen took more than 100 days,prompted by 4 letters of complaint and over 20 phone calls. On 3 occasions fitters were due but did not turn up.Living Designdid not contact us,and did not return our calls of enquiry. The rubbish from our old kitchen which should have been removed on the day it was removed was in our garden for 6 weeks. The product is good ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages telephone harrassment, bad sales advisers

    Im pretty sure that Living Design operate under several guises (Space Design being one), and have been ringing my telephone number sporadically for over 2 years. For the first 5 times I asked them not to contact me again as I was not interested in their product, yet more calls followed - at least every 2 weeks. I have asked for their head office, which they advise is the telephone preference service, obviously i know what this is but i do not want my telephone number registering with them. They have hung up on me when I say I want to complain, and say they have no head office address other ... more
